Mine is really curly. I keep hoping it will calm down a bit but it just curls more. It is really wet and humid here so that makes it worse. I look like I got one of those 40's old lady perms.

For those of you who don't have BCO research news as one of your favorites, here's the report about the newly FDA approved DigniCap - to wear through treatment to help stop hair loss.

I put Aveda Be Curly curl enhancer on mine. It made the curls clump more together so it looks less like an old lady dandelion perm

Italychick- my hair looks exactly like yours in the back. We could be twins. That is so funny, same curl and length. I have more hair on top and get it trimmed and thinned. My hair is so curly I have to get it blown out by a girlfriend who is a hair stylist. I am not complaining though. Happy to have hair. Last chemo was March of 2015. Happy Holidays to all!!

thanks for the tip, Chloesmom, I'm going to look for that. I feel like I have that 'old lady dandelion perm' going on. I'm on vacation in Florida with my husband and daughters, and have not been wearing my wig (usually I don't leave home without it). The curl is driving me crazy...never had to deal with curls before and is too short to do too much with it right now, but trying not to complain...at least I have hair

    Hair looks great Italychick

Hey, at least it came back, right? I'm just going with it, whatever it wants to do. Hair products and the blow dryer help a lot

It's really thick, Theresa. How long are you going to grow it? Any idea?

I'm letting it grow long enough to at least get the chemo damaged part out and then probably do a hair cut in about a month. I'm so on the fence about length. Here in Southern California women either have long hair or super short. The in between stage isn't seen as much. On one hand, I really like the convenience of short hair. On the other hand, having it long is more lazy because I can put off hair cuts longer if I don't feel like getting one.

What are your plans? I can't remember how long you had it before chemo.

Seven weeks along, I have 1/8" or so of hair on my head, and the Hair Fairy has visited and given me dark hair sprouting in all the places that I didn't miss it in the past few months. Upper lip, bikini line, big toes... though I am grateful to see the return of nose hairs!

It was kind of medium length. I will probably do something similar, maybe a big shorter.

Good job, Song4Him. I'm sure it is a relief to have it done.

Weekly hair check this morning about the same as last week, 3 1/2 months PFC. A solid inch all over, more brown than in the beginning, though grey in front of my ears and grey speckled throughout. I can't tell how much more there is now than before chemo. Mostly straight with some wave/curl; I can't tell how much yet. My original hair was wavy/frizzy, so I'm not sure yet how different this will be. I'd hoped for faster growth but am on Herceptin, so I guess that's not in the cards.

Eyebrows falling out in patches and unfortunately are definitely more grey than before. Looks like brow pencil may be a permanent part of my life.

Hair is still not long enough to say anything other than "cancer patient growing out her hair." No possibility that it could be confused with a chic, short hairstyle. Wig, I still love you so.

I am 10 weeks , 3 day pfc. I got duckling fuzz for Christmas. I was also hoping for more because I would like to get back in uniform after the new year. I have been working in plain clothes but mostly for the sake of travelling to radiation every day. Once in uniform I don't want to be wearing a scarf. I can wear my touque but it is frowned upon inside. I'm glad this is my worst dilemma. Oh and still forgetting to fill the tam script. Happy Sunday after Christmas ladies

I had to have one treatment of THP then dropped the taxotere. Lost hair. Well not all. But it was soooo mangy. Some places gone some areas long. So had it cut to about an inch. Feels and looks better. I'm on JUst H&P now. Maybe some will grow back.

Question to you all.....do you move tteatment up a week ever? I've done it a few times for different needs. Scared to do it too much but wanting to this week for vacation....just wanted your thoughts.

Babyduck, I've moved treatment around a day or two. Never an entire week. But I believe it's possible and have been told so by various people on the MO's staff. I think it falls under quality of life, which is the whole point of this exercise. I'm not sure they would have let me do it when I was in the very early days of treatment but later on everyone seemed more relaxed about it.

10 weeks PFC, I see baby eyelashes coming in. I did not loose all my lashes or brows. I still have some hanging in there. It seems as though my lashes are slowly falling out. I hope those baby ones hurry up and grow.

My head hair is coming in good. I look like a silver fox. Seems to be quite a bit of grey with my dark hair. I am heading on a FxxK Cancer trip in a few weeks with 3 friends and I am going to dye my hair before I go. I am so not ready to be a silver fox. I figure another 2 weeks of growth and I will just rock the short hair. I haven't been wearing my wig, just my hat. It even leaves a hat ring now on my hair. Also the other night when I pulled my shirt over my head I could feel that it messed my hair... This is progress ladies, I am celebrating the small things!

I have found that the baby ones push out the big ones which is why I think they hang on until the growth begins. So when they finally fall out, it is good because it means it is because of new growth. You will find they grow very quickly. My bottom lashes are falling out for the sec on time and I see tiny growth already.

I didn't lose all of my lashes nor brow hair after chemo, but they really thinned. Everything came back so quickly (especially the leg hairs!). The hair on my head was the slowest to grow.

Dee, if this were Facebook, I'd like your post!

Trvler, that completely describes what is going on with my eyebrows. They thinned a lot, but now that new growth is coming in the original long brow hairs are dropping like flies. When I went from seven to two remaining lashes on the bottom in one week, I ordered some Revitalash. Not sure if it's helping or not, but the regrowth is good and thick, and all the original lashes are gone.

10 weeks PFC-I have about 2 bottom lashes on each eye left. There are gaps along my top lash line. Brows are very white but with brow pencil they are easy to fill in. With having my head hair grow it makes it less traumatic to have my lashes fall out. I did do a hair trim the other day. I had to trim my sideburns around my ears because those hair were getting long. I have been using a Vitamin E after sun gel I have to hold my crazy hairs down. It works Good!

Peachy-I wish there was a like button like there is onFacebook!

How exciting for us to have hair coming in!

I actually need to use a hair dryer after a shower in order to put on my wig. Top is not growing as fast as the back so I am not comfortable yet going without my wig. Plus, my head gets cold!

Dee, I want to like that post too! So much growth since your week 8 pic, and so well filled in. You look beautiful! Thank you for giving me hope. <3

I think that my eyelashes and brows are almost done falling out, but just noticed that I'm losing a toenail. LOL!

Dee - Beautiful! Wow, it's coming back quickly! You look great. I agree that having hair lessons the blow of the lashes falling out! Your lashes will be back in no time. I'm 2'weeks ahead of you at 12 wks pfc. I'm just happy to have hair. I hope the tamoxifen doesn't do anything to thin my hair or make it fall out!

hey southern we sept gals travel in good circles...lol

Dee wow your hair grew a lot since your last pic. Beautiful. Are you taking any vitamins to boost growth?

I am 3 weeks pfc and have a lot of grey/silver/colorless fuzz with darker hair filling in nicely on he sides and back. It slowly looks like it is creeping up the back of my head to start to cover my crown. Every morning i see more growth; it's like my head sprouts overnite. Sadly my last 2 lashes on each eye bolted yesterday, but brows started to grow a lot in between the longer, very few hairs that are left. Good to hear the new growth pushes out the old.

Thanks for the kind words ladies. I am so happy to have my hair coming in. With the snow and cold here I need my hair to keep me warm.

Sloan, I don't think that Tamoxifen has slowed my growth. I have been on it since Nov and my hair seems to be steadily coming in.

I take Biotin, Vitamin E & Prenatal vitamins daily.

On the subject of nails, mine have ridges and white lines across them. 4 lines on each nail, one for each chemo treatment. None of them seem to be lifting at all though that could change any day. Nothing surprises me anymore.
