    Maggie!!!  Go Girl! Get that style!  You have hair!!!! Go to your fav hair-stylist and just let  it go!!   I wish this board had more graphics because I want  a "go git it" smiley right now!!!

    Hi girls  -  SUSAN13, DAWNMRN1, BOLD, JANE_M, LISA1964  - thank you all for your input and most of all your encouragement  -  it means alot, believe me!!!!! 

    I personally still don't feel comfortable enough - especially because of the top/front - but at the same time I am truly grateful that I have what I have  -  so, off to get that style tomorrow - I do realize there's not too much there to actually style - but I figure a snip here, a snip there, might do the trick  -  we'll see - It is definitely exciting - I'm actually nervous!!!!  Silly, but I am  -  this is a big moment for us gals!!!!!  But, I do have to say I think I'd love curls, but it doesn't look like I will have them, but that's ok  -  but Jane I have to agree with Deb from Ohio, I don't think I'd want to go that far!!!!   LOL

    Again, thanks friends  -  I will post a picture post-style!!!   And, I hope all of you ladies keep your pics coming - it's so much fun to SEE how each of us are actually doing!!!!  We're all an inspiration to each other and that is sooooooo great!!!!

    Maggie, The touch up will make you feel good.  I am fortunate that I work in a cosmetology school and my co-workers give me a touch up every week.  Even though we don't have enough hair for a "style", we really do deserve some neatness and order as the we go thru the grow out phase.  Have fun today!!!

    Try Lipocils from Talika for your eyelashes, I have been using this and have had excellent results.  For my eyebrows I have been using Brow enhancing serum from Anastasia.

    CanItBeTrueNH - thanks for the suggestions!  Where do I find Lipocils?  My lashes are definitely growing back, just really slowly.  Brows are moving along really well, have already had them shaped once and they are filling in nicely.

    Hello lovely ladies!

    Well this morning I had my check-up with my onc. and I am all cleared for the next 3 months.  He told me I am FOD (Free Of Disease, I like that better then NED No Evidence of Disease).  So I figured what a better day to also declare myself FOW (Free of Wig)!!  Sooooo ladies I just took this picture 10 minutes ago, and yes..... I am at work!     I DIDI IT!

    7/1/09 - FOD and FOW!!!!!!!

     WOWSAH!, I'm not on here too often, had some frustrating times lately trying to get to the end.  Just wishing I would get done here!  Two more tx and will be done on 7/20 my birthday WOOHOO!  but.... I just had to comment on your hair, you look beautiful and I love it - have you thought about keeping it that way?  It's very becoming on you!  HUGS, Dawn

    Thank girls!  I think once it starts getting a little longer on top and in the front I'll have alot of fun with it!  I have to say it took alot for me to come to work without the wig... but now that I did it I feel like I hit a major milestone as crazy as that may sound... cause it's "only hair"....

    DenRuinz-Hang in there. It's a long road indeed but you WILL GET THERE!  I am almost hitting my 1 year mark in 2 months, and the time has gone by quickly.

    Thanks for the encouragement, it means a lot from someone who's been there and gets it. My daughter says she sees peach fuzz on my head today amongst the sparse stubble that never fell out.  I hope she's right as that would be monumental as you know!!!Surprised

    Dawn-Thanks, and you too!   Once you start to see fuzz it's all uphill from there:-)

    Hi Ladies!!

    I have MIA again but had a lumpectomy last week and am feeling back to normal again.  I would post more on this site but it takes FOREVER for the pages to load and I don't have much patience these days.  Go figure!  Must be the after effects of chemo.

    I still haven't taken the time to figure out how to post pictures, again no patience at this time to even try it.

    Now I am looking like Chelez's avatar!  The white is gone and now I have a 5 o'clock shadow on my scalf.  I am 4-12 weeks PFC.  I am taking 10,000 mcg of biotin per day and am using Mane and Tail shampoo.  My hubby can't believe how much my hair has grown the past 2 weeks and I have always had very slow growing hair.  I have a friend here locally that is 3-1/2 weeks PFC and she barely has any stubble.  I don't know if it is the biotin and shampoo that is helping so much or what.  I was using the shampoo on my scalp for about 3 weeks before I even started noticing some hair growth.  I wish the hair fairy would come visit me!  At least now I am no longer embarrassed to go without a cap in my own home in front of my hubby and stepson.

    Although I love my collection of 7 wigs, I am ready to ditch them because of the heat.  I can only wear them for about 3 hours and then I have major hot flashes.

    Love reading about ALL of you and here is to a good hair day!!

    You look absolutely fantastic!! It really does look great on you. My own hair is about the same length as yours, however I still wear scarves out in public. You are almost convincing me to go FOS ( free of scarf)

    Jancie~ I hope you are healing well.  Rest up :)

    Okay I have had to start using dark brown eye shadow for my eyebrows since 1/2 of my one eyebrow fell out.  Well I was attempting to "wash off" the eye shadow and was getting upset about the shadow not coming off only to find out I was trying to wipe off my new eyebrows.  Once I got the magnifing mirror out I can see the new eyebrows coming in.  Now I am just wishing for some hair.  I still look bald :(  I have a little bit of a shadow but it will be a while before i don't look bald.  My hair officially has 2 weeks and 4 days until I buy some hair dye.  Everyone thinks I am joking....haha...  NOT.  :)

    Hi , I,m new to this site, and new to bc, just started chemo A/C , dreading the whole hair loss aspect of it, but gotta tell you, I was in the UK recently, and had my eyebrows tattooed, its a semi permanent cosmetic tattoo, lasts 3-5 years, they look fab, so when , and if , my eyebrow hair goes, I still have the tattoo there, she put a great shape and more definition on them, should have had it done years ago!!

    Sue you hair looks great!!!!!  How many weeks PFC are you.  I am coming up on 21 and your hair is longer than mine.  Congrats on FOD!!!!!!

    Jancie, glad you are feling well.  The hair will come.....

    Jaimieh - my eyelashes have come back really well, but not so with the eyebrows.....

    Auriga-I'm rooting for you to go FOS!!!!! Once you do it you won't go back, trust me!

    Lisa-I am 16 weeks PFC today!  Once chemo was done I started using biotin shampoo that I get from Puritan Pride online.

    Jamieh-My eyebrows and lashes are just now starting to come back for good... hope so anyway.

    Anyone else dealing with major facial fuzz??? Wow... it's so noticeable now on me without my wig cause the wig hair isn't covering it up. It's all along my jaw line towards my ears.... yuk!

    Susan!  You look great! If my hair comes in like yours I'll ditch the wig in a heart beat!!!

    Jamieh!  My eyebrows have thinned and I rubbed one off  with a face cloth too! That was about 6 weeks ago and I've been using an eyebrow pencil! To go out I draw on my brows, strap on my fboobs, toss on my wig and the fake me goes out the door!  Everyone says I look great, talk about, airbrushed, I'M fake brushed I'm only 10 days PFC, so I have miles to go, and rads looming on the 20th!  What a journey it will be a year on the 31st!  It feels like 10!

    Maggie, you are cute as a button. Your hair is quite long, and blonde? Is that you in your avatar with dark hair?

    Susan, you too are looking adorable. Have you had your hair cut? It looks like it, you even have a part! It also looks like it's starting curl! As for the facial fuzz, it will go away. Just give it time. I couldn't stand it, wanted to shave it, but was affraid of the stubble. So I quit looking at it. Then one day I did go to look, and it was gone! Just be patient. As we all know, we have no choice but TO be (patient).

    I have new pictures, just not on this computer. 9 months of hair growth. It is so curly, it takes a long time to try and style it. I have never spent so much time on my hair! Getting my makeover in a week, will post that too.

    Hang in there girls, it's coming. In the meantime.....have a great 4th.

    Would love to see your new pics when you have them. The makeover sounds fantastic!

    and yes I did trim my hair, I actually just did it myself. When it gets a little longer I'll go get it done at a salon. The top is a little wavy. I just wish I didn't have to plaster it with styling mousse to get the fluff in control!

    Maggie - I agree with everyone.  You are so cute.  Go get that style and say bye bye to the wigs!!

    I am going for haircut/trim today after work.  The back is starting to curl!!  I was wondering when that would happen.  I'm excited to get a little more shape to it.  I've noticed that the curlies are starting to stick out and aren't obeying the hair product anymore!

    Susan - You look great and I am so jealous of your FOW day!  I am SO HOT here in Houston with this dang wig on.  I am 22 weeks out and just can't get the courage to go without the wig.  My hair is SO CURLY and I have no idea what to do with it.  I don't think a hair product would even begin to fight these curls.

    Goldie - I would love to see pictures.... I think my curls are following yours!

    Maggie - I went and got a tiny little trim just to shape mine a little (even though I haven't ditched the wig) and it really felt great and I think looked a tinsy bit better.  It felt like a milestone!

    OK you ladies with all of your hair who I envy so much!  How long after I see the peach fuzz does it turn in to hair????  I have some sparse stubble left that never fell out and yesterday I saw peach fuzz!  I want to look like Sue or any one else with hair!  Looking for hope, UGH...  HUGS, Dawn
