Lovely spot for a party and I love fruity drinks (with an extra kick), and as Jimmy Beffet and Alan Jackson say "it's 5 o'clock somewhere". Can't believe it's been a year and Seaside aren't you pretty close to me on quit date? I think mimosa's are in order, wish I knew how to post pictures!! And Jo, what a great person to share a party with. Thanks ladies, we need some servers and we need o2b for our partay!!!!!

Karen - I found these guys and they are more than glad to volunteer to serve.
0 -
And we are more than glad to let them serve, kind of favoring the one on the left. Will they be with us all day? Let them know we are heavy duty partyers, Karen feel a hot flash coming on, liquor always does that to me, but I will soldier on!

Karen - The will be with us as long as we need them. When they get tired, you and I can take them home - LOL!
I know it is early but these are "fruity".

We'll need a DD to drive us home, I intend to get us blotto. All this good vitamin C we are getting, good thinking Jo, no colds for us, fruity drinks for medicinal purposes only!!!

Hey thanks SeasideMemories! I look forward to sharing & hearing about all of you. Right now, I can only handle a little at a time. I'm so freakin' overwhelmed! I'll read a little bit & then walk away to digest it.
Now, about smoking...I smoked 4 cigs yesterday & I'm gonna allow myself 4 everyday this week. Next week it'll be 3/day & so on. My wonderful husband & I are trying to come up with a plan for him. I can't ask him to quit b/c he's not ready. Just trying to figure out a way for his smoking not to undermine my quitting.
My suggestion was that when he wants a cig, for him to chew nicorette, next urge he can smoke, next urge nocorette, etc. No smoking in my car & when I'm in his he won't smoke. Anybody got any other ideas?

Oooooooo La La, Jo!!
Servers that double as party favors... Gotta Love it...lol
How about a bit of lunch to keep us from getting too blotto!
Tables are waiting....
Lunch is served...
Don't forget to save room for dessert...
Ohhhhhh and the best part! No need for a DD.... I've booked us all rooms....
Check out the view from the balcony!!

aah chocolate, my all time favorite, was just thinking about lunch, you beat me to it. Rooms are soo luxurious, and the view divine, especially so since in the "real" world which we have temporarily left I see a snow mound and temps in the 30's. No need for me to even think of that now Seaside, since you have provided the perfect locale for our party. We can stay all day?

Now that's my idea of a party. When do we have to check out?0
-
Do we have to check out, you may have to pull me back to reality, kicking and screaming all the way!!
0 -
lol, Karen! I know exactly what you mean... Had to run to the store and about cried it was so cold!
Jo,
I made sure to book the late check-out because I figured we'd be worn out after the party!! So we don't have to leave until 1:00 tomorrow!!
Barbara, Bama and O2B.... Where ARE you? Not like you to miss a party...

Anyone up for a walk on the beach before happy hour?
0 -
Let's all take a walk on this lovely beach, the sand is so white and clean. We'll all be thirsty when we come back. My treat, chocolate martinis, they are so good you'd like to bathe in them, don't even taste like liquor, 1and 1/2 oz chocolate vodka, 2 oz Godiva white chocolate, drizzle Hershy syrup around inside of martini glass, shake liquids gently and pour in slowly. Limit 2 before dinner, maybe 3, better make it a long stroll on the beach. Bama, Barbara, o2b where are you, it's party time and you are needed, we have enough servers for all of us and may I say they are doing a remarkable job.

Karen & Jo: Congrats on your anniversaries. Seaside: are you up too?
Welcome newbies. Trial flights are OK. One day at a time breaks down to one hour at a time!! Driving was difficult for me too so I postponed all trips over 20 minutes & then got someone else to drive, or didn't go. Had to quit drinking for awhile & put off playing bridge. Thank heavens that didn't last too long. Identify your triggers and you'll find a way around them. I always said I'd start again if I was ever diagnosed with a life threatening disease, so the fact that I was diagnosed with BC & had BMX a year ago & still not smoking is a real milestone. Looking forward to all of you joining me down the road at 4-1/2 years.

Time to head down to the beach for the evening... So lovely and peaceful this time of day!
Karen,
I have never had a chocolate martini before but, I intend to rectify that situation soon...
Cheers!
Maybe a little dancing...

MinusTwo,
Yep.. Coming up on 2 years! And, from your mouth to God's ears on remaining smoke free in spite of what life throws our way!! No matter how early you are in your quit, or how long it has been, the decision to smoke or not is one you make each and every day... It gets easier as you go but, some days are easier than others!

Seaside, how beautiful is that picture of the beach, that is exactly what a chocolate martini looks like ( it is the drink of choice at our WNY luncheons), we have had enough to dance the night away in that warm sand. What a glorious locale you found, DD just got home from work with a bottle of wine to celebrate the one year mark, so I am imbibing in real life and cyber land. Remind me to hydrate after I've been dancing.

Karen,
You enjoy yourself tonight celebrating with your daughter!! Real life celebrations trump cyber-land ones.... Give yourself a big pat on the back, you sooooo deserve it!
With Love,
Seaside

Seaside - The evening beach photo is beautiful and looks way too inviting. Too bad we have to be in this reality of ours. I could stay on that beach for a very long time.

llharper2,
Where you are right now, at the beginning of this crazy journey, is truly the worst part... All of the unknowns, the endless research (Dr Google, at times can be a real quack... be sure to visit only reputable sites and always check the date on what you are reading.. lots of old info out there), testing and hurry up and waits, are just insanely stressful! BUT as you gather information, get your results, establish your team and get your treatment plan in place, you will be surprised at how it all comes together...
Check out the top of the Just Diagnosed section... There are lots of pinned threads that will give many helpful tips on what to do as you go through this stage of diagnosis as well as how to get yourself organized...
All of that being said... When I quit smoking I did not do it until I was done with treatment... I just didn't think I could handle even one more thing.... But there are some here who have quit during active treatment... I guess my point is.. We absolutely will be here to support you if you decide that this is your time to quit but, make be sure to be kind to yourself during this incredibly stressful period!
Sending you hugs and strength!

Thank you ladies for a wonderful fantasy night. I am on my second glass of wine with DD and am really feeling it, when did I become such a lightweight, must have been the fruity drinks, mimosas, chocolate martinis I had in cyberland. I could not have made it a year without all of you!!!!! love and hugs, Karen

Jo,
Me, too! I guess I figure, if you're going to dream, dream big!!! The one week a year we spend at the beach (and our accomadations are no where near that plush) is my heaven on earth... Wish it was more time but, wonderful none the less!

Yay Karen!! One year and counting I am a little late to the party but I brought cake
Jo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You rock! Congrat's on
Smoke Free!!!
0 -
Dear o2b, I am so glad you brought cake, I'm getting tipsy from in the real world wine, my DD brought a bottle of wine to celebrate my 1 year, you too have been a source of inspiration to me. I am grateful for the friendship you have extended to me. This is one fine group of strong women, what a support team!!!!!!!!!!!!

O2B,
It's never too late for cake!!! Of course, maybe that explains my lack of weight loss ... I have started back on my exercise regiment and trying to eat better (no... not butter...lol). May be joining you all back on the E-Lab thread soon...
I know life is crazy for you right now. Sending strength to do what you have to do!
PS... Love the latest hairstyle! You look so pretty!

Holy moly my mom got the family a late Christmas gift...the kintect for xbox. I am so tired but we had fun...now we have to completely rearrange the livingroom furniture If you are looking for a fun workout, check out the kintect Adventures, Fruit Ninja and Dance Central

Ooohhh,
Didn't even think about that but, my DD got the Kinect for Christmas... I am so behind the times when it comes to stuff like that but, I can follow instructions....Hmmm
The problem I seem to have in the exercise department, especially with the treadmill, is boredom... Even though we have a TV in the room and I have an IPod at my disposal... It's just plain boring after 20 minutes or so.... Maybe the games would alleviate that!

Woah, I don't check in for a couple of days and miss a party! Congratulations Karen on one year and Jo on six months. Isn't it great to be smoke free??

Thanks ladies for the fantasy party. Just what I needed. I also want to thank each and every one of you for allowing me to be a part of this thread. There is so much encouragement, support and just some plain fun.
Hope everyone is having a good day.

love the puppy, Jo, it was a great party, unfortunately I have a slight headache from the real world wine I drank, should havestuck to the cyber drinks!! I don't know when I became sch a light weight in drinking - can certainly tell I am not in my 20's anymore. Bama, so sorry you missed the party, when I first found this thread, a party was going on, I forget whose it was, but I could not understand who these women were and what was going on. Now a year later, I realize what an accomplishment it was, and what it is like to be completely supproted by such a grand group of women, you included. Did you watch the games this weekend, There were two games each day, I guessed only one winner, good thing I am not a betting person. Dearly wanted the Patriots to lose, though it was a long shot, they won against Tim Tebow and the Broncos, it was Tebow's rookie year, just like Cam Newton's. What shall we do on our Saturdays now, cleaning the house does not have the appeal that the college games had!!!
