Good Morning Ladies .. guessing we are in for a snow storm again today looking at 8-14 inches ... ugh ... of course this is my day to work ... 8 am to 8 pm ... hoping that it wont be too bad for my drive home .... but it looks like is starting at noon .. and we should have 6-8 inches by tonight . I hate driving in the snow ... besides that all is calm and okay for now ... thank you to all you ladies who helped me make it through a tough spot .. Hugs ... I am still strong ,,, xoxoxoxo

LisaMarie .... we are always here for you tough spot or not! I'm glad to hear that you sound happy and ready to brave another day. I hear you about the snow .... uggggh, I hate snow. If I was a millionaire, I would buy me an island - tough dream to achieve on my pay cheque. Stay safe and drive slowly!

Here's another millionaire thought - retire to live on the Queen Mary, constantly cruising the world. Well I know we're saving money by not smoking, but maybe I'm a little too optimistic?

Hi to all .......Eleven days without a ciggy, really hope i can do it this time using NRT chewing gum and inhaler, not a heavy smoker, but started young. Tried to give up at DX but went back to it feel different this time. We are all doing so well such a hard habit to kick. x

Hi Kaza ... good for you for trying again. This is all you can ask yourself until you wonder why you ever smoked. I remembered why I did .... it was cool and I would be thin. BIG DEAL, EH? Keep going as we are all here for you. MinusTwo ... cruising I hear is a good thing .... have you meals prepared for you, rooms cleaned for you, doctor on board, music/entertainment for you, oh yeah I forgot to mention, all of lives pleasures that you paid for. I heard that it is good for retirement, don't have to worry about a place to take care off, get off of one trip and on to another. Sounds pretty heavenly to me! MinusTwo, I sent two PMs to Beckers but no response .... I hope she is o.k.

LisaMarie, ignore the beyotch with the photo. If your sweetie is still smoking, make sure he does it outside and not around you. High five for getting through the stress.
congrats to you Kaza!
On the 20th, it has been 9 months for me! Woohooo!!!!!!
Keep the faith ladies. Quitting is one of my better ideas in this life..lol They are uber expensive here in CT too (about 9.00 a pack depending on where you get them) and I am saving money and my lungs. What could be better than that????
Hugs!!

Kaza, LisaMarie, and April ..... you are all wonderful in defeating this beast! It's hard but doable .... it's like what we say about cancer. I've never really given the saving money part any thought but I know it's there .... now if I could just stop buying clothes!

April - 9 months is great news. LisaMarie - glad you're still abstaining.
Kaza - welcome. Come rant anytime. Where are you in the UK?

April485, you are such an inspiration! 45+ years and you keep trying. Going to remember that each time I want to smoke. My big deal is wanting to eat. Guessing not such a big deal considering the circumstance, but afraid it might get out of hand and would like to get it under control. I've gained 10 lbs since quitting 2 months ago. Ugh...

Hi everyone ..jjaajjaaj I gained . I was 95 lbs when I was smoking , I am now 113.6 lbs . I find it very hard to not eat . It's like a whole new addiction . but I am not letting that get me down. I could use the weight actually . I also am eating different stuff now .. I am buying snap peas and eating them with ranch along with baby carrots .. instead of chips and candy ... lol .. and I joined the gym .. I really love it ...
Kaza I live in NY .. yeah it's cold here burrrr... its in the single digits this am .. but I am used to the snow and cold ...
I got a great opportunity on Saturday I am doing a photo shoot .. Vintage Pin Up Girl with a motercycle for breast cancer survivors . I am not the photogenic type and I am very nervous .. but at the same time I am excited and hoping it will help me feel good about myself again and my fake tata's ... I love you alll Hugs and way to go to all of you .. we keep together and stay strong... Hugs my friends
Lisamarie
this is my ride in the snow ...

Nicotine gum can be used as an appetite suppressant. The trick is to use it about one hour before you eat. All it does is take the edge off so you won't eat as much.
For some reason, I don't get emails notifications from this list anymore. I don't know why. But my offer of a free copy of my e-book is still open to anyone interested. I just need an email address.
Have a joy-filled day, VJ

VJ - thanks for still offering the tips to quitting book. Ladies - if you haven't PM'd VJ yet, it's a great tool.
Jaj - Two Months Down. Good news. The weight gain is hard in the winter when we can't get outside. My saving grace - if there are positive things about BC - was that I lost all the weight I gained when I started chemo, in addition to another 40lbs. I'm hoping eventually food will start to taste good again.
Kaza - Way to go - 13 days is really two weeks !! I thought the first couple of weeks were the hardest. After that I just had to keep reminding myself I could NOT have just one or I'd be an active smoker again. I'm one of the old timers - 6 years and 6 months. It's always a surprise to me that I made it this far.
LisaMarie - oh wow, our very own pin-up girl. You'll have to post the results. Just looking at the jeep sitting in the snow makes me cold.

Minus Two, It is pretty cold out here .. lol ... today it is a whopping 10 degrees....Tomorrow is the photo shoot .. so nervous ,, will post a photo here for you ladies ... Just want to feel beautiful and maybe to show other breast cancer survivors we can still be beautiful too.. Idea's Idea's Idea's ... I also wanted to start a project to help raise money for women here on Long Island who cannot afford to get Mammograms ..or just need help throughout treatment ...I just do not know where or how to begin... anyway .. trying to stay warm today .. working at the place I hate to be... it's my second day for the week .. like I said before my hours have been cut so bad that it is almost dumb to even waste my time coming 2 times a week ... but I guess any money to help pay bills is helpful . That is until I find a full time job....If you all knew what this guy was doing to so many of us here .. you would hate him... taking food out of single womens mouths ... but never his own ... He always makes sure he has his hours for the week .. and there is noone that can take his hours as he does the schedule ... How does one like that sleep at night ... that is nothing but pure greed and selfishness and just plain ass gross..... besides the fact that he drinks wine while at work .. getting tipsy and being a nurse on duty .. well thats just damm scary isn't it ... Ok jeeze sorry I went on a damm rant again ....Hugs Ladies .. xoxoxoxo

LisaMarie ... way to go .... you have the spunk and courage that I may not have so we are all proud of you and can't wait to hear about it. We are all beautiful so don't even think you are not pretty enough .... for me I would ask for a lot of air brushing to get rid of the wrinkles or better yet, let them show. Anyways, have fun ... has been snowing here in where I live in Ontario since last night ... and bloody cold to boot. Where is SPRING!
