I would like to impose on you ladies for some feedback. I am finally getting my book published and I would like a critique about the cover. Is there anything you don't like or would change? As always, anyone who wants a free e-version, please send me a PM with an email address. VJ

VJ - looks good. I LOVE the Mark Twain quote. And the faint reflection of the loving cup in the background seems to me to say there were lots of times that winning was just a dream I could see far off in the clouds, but now I can get the cup.

Morning ladies ... not going to work today because of a flipping storm .... have 3 days left to work and I can't make it in. Oh well, not worth it. Snow, snow, snow - that's what you get when you live in the north. O.K. What can one say to you PerAngusta. From the sounds of it, you have tried everything and it just didn't work. Yes, you are right - you do become very "bitchy". Been there, done that a lot of us would say. It's the worst thing for one to go through and all of us have been there - to what degree is different for everyone. So I also wish you the best of luck in whatever route you take but I definitely would reread VJ's post. Wow, I didn't know a lot of this and went through my own "hell". Like you I went back to smoking because I wanted to be "nicer". Being bitchy is not fun for you or anyone else. Anyways, you will do what is best for you. VJ .... love the book cover but for me I would be more apt to pick up the book if I some smokers lifting the gold cup - would be an incentive for me. But that's me! Good luck on your book.

Perangusta ... I am sorry nothing works for you .. I did however ise chantix and i am going on 4 months I thjink soon ... lol .. I had my double mastectomy 2 years ago and I still find it hard to deal with it all ... especially the horrible implants .. but anyway .. like you said everyone is differrent and that is what makes us unique ... I wishyou the best on your journey and we are always here .. the ladies can make ya laugh here and they can hold ur hand ... they are a very special bunch ..

LisaMarie - great post. You've been doing an amazing job against difficult hurdles.
Oh my goodness, the 13th is next week Judi. I expect you'll check in again before you go, but just in case - have an absolute ball. Wish I could hide in your suitcase. Celebrate for each & every one of us.

Hi MinusTwo .... yup the 13th is Tuesday and I retired unofficially today. My last working day. My official retirement date is January 31/15 but I'm taking holidays. Oh yes, I'll be checking in before I leave. I feel kind of sad today .... no more work. What does one do with themselves???????????????

Judi - my personal experience? Join a gym, work out 45 min a day and walk 5 miles a day & get REALLY healthy. Start de-cluttering my house. Start working a really neat part time job. Then get cancer. Since then - read a lot. Sleep late. Play dominoes. Go out to lunch with friends. All crammed in between treatments & doc appointments. I have no idea what I'll be doing in 2015 now that the active treatment is over, but I'm still in PT twice a week. I'm considering trips to Hawaii, San Francisco and Phoenix before summer. Probably won't happen but it sounds good. Ah retirement!!!

Ha, MinusTwo ..... love it. The trips sound amazing .... I'm in!

Good evening ladies. Sitting here drinking my coffee patron and came on to see the news. There is none. Whatcha all doing? Tomorrow will be the start of my retirement .... no waking up to get ready for work .... yippeeeeee!

Judi - good thing you've already quit smoking so you won't be tempted to sit around & drink coffee & smoke. Will you really sleep in? Our weather is so grey & cold I could sleep all day. Is your DH already retired? The adjustments of two at home again are always interesting.
Here's one more thought from Dear Abby's NY resolution list. Another hard one for me!! At least I truly have never nagged anyone about quitting smoking.
Just For Today: I will refrain from improving anybody but myself.

If anyone wants to know how to beat smoking the same way I did, email me. I am not wanting anything, just to help you. I did it 2 days before my 29th birthday after smoking for 11 yrs. when a golf pro told me how to do it. It is easy and I haven't had a cig since... didn't gain any weight either!

Judi - have a FABULOUS time. We'll look forward to your stories when you return.
LisaMarie - are you surviving the cold weather? It's one of the times I'm glad I don't smoke anymore so I don't have to be standing outside in the wind & sleet.

LisaMarie - I had to look up hashimotos disease. So sorry you're going through this. What a mess. Sounds like that may explain some of your earlier bleeding problems. And for sure the exhaustion. Are they working on stabilizing the thyroid hormone levels? How often do they test? And I read something about going gluten free. Do you have to do that too? Sending hugs.

I totally understand that . I cant even tell myself that .. so see you are on your way .. xooxxoxxo Bosom0 -
Bosum - GREAT news about your upcoming surgery. I know you've been frustrated w/the doc situation. Of course you feel like you're losing your best friend. Smoking has been the "go to" item whenever you are tired or stressed or celebrating or crying or dieting or dancing or ... We've all been there. But you CAN do this. If you think it will help, get an e-cigarette with NO nicotine just to have the hand to mouth movement. I think it's April who found that a successful middle ground.
Don't you love the Mark Twain quote on VJ's book cover: "It's easy to quit smoking. I've done it hundreds of times."
But it sounds like now is your time. You have a specific goal for something you REALLY want. And maybe signing a pledge will help too. If no one is on here in a time of mini-crisis, try whyquit.com as suggested in a previous page. I spent time reading those stories in the middle of the night. And we'll be back every day - even w/Judi off in South Africa. Wouldn't she be excited for you!!!

Bosum - forgot to say - deep breathing can really help. If you've never done any Yoga I can send an interesting link that teaches how to breathe & "let it go".
0 -
Bosum - I'll dig it out and send you a PM. I have never taken Yoga but my LE therapist has me doing deep breathing with LE massage. I'll be interested in hearing about the meditation seminar. I've been working on slowing down my brain & that might help.
