My revision surgery went well yesterday. I can already tell that I like these implants better. They don't look like hamburger buns on my chest. They are ultra high profile vs high profile. She also moved them down quite a bit. They are also softer than my last ones. So I am very happy and glad that I went ahead with the revision.

    DeeRatz, congrats

do you know if your PS used larger implants or did she make your pockets smaller? I have the same problem as you, my implants are a bit too spread, they dont look like a hamburger buns but I am not completely happy.

Dee, Can you please give info on the type/size of old implants vs new? I am a "burger bun" person as well and am mulling over my choices.

    Thanks and happy healing.

These implants are ultra high profile vs high profile. They are narrower than my previous ones. I had 520cc and these ones are 525cc. They are Allergan Inspira SSX.

Dee - good for you with the success of the (second) exchange and thanks for bringing this topic back to our discussion.

I am scheduled for my TE to (initial/hopefully final) exchange on 12/28. I know I am getting 800 silicone...but we are going in between high profile and ultra high profile...I tend to the ultra high as I am trying to get symmetry with my natural R breast and the 800 TE is only about 2/3s the size of my Right.

I'm thinking I would rather a narrower base and more projection...at least in clothes my two sides will be more similar/profile more even even.

    Thank you Janett!

Will I need to sleep in a recliner again like I did after the MX?

Thank you all for your well wishes! My surgery went well. I woke up in recovery and at first was confused - it felt like no time had passed since I was wheeled into the operating room and I thought they had not yet started the surgery! Then I saw that the clock said 11:45 and realized I was no longer in the OR.

My implants are 300 cc smooth round high profile from Mentor. I wanted something a little bigger but the PS was concerned about the skin on the left and didn't want to push it. She had to bring skin up from below the IMF to anchor the breast down since my TE had migrated up my chest. They look pretty even and I like the look of my right breast, even if it's a bit smaller than expected. My left one has some puckering at the edges of the incision. Hoping this will diminish as the swelling goes down. I am wearing compression along the top of the implants to help hold them in place, but nothing around the rest of the implants. I am happy to share pictures by messenger if anyone is interested.

Pain is manageable. They gave me tramadol before I left and I took a couple of tylenol when I got home. I feel fine as long as I don't move my upper arms too much :)

I hope you all have a great week! DeeRatz - sending healing thoughts for you recovery!

grandma3X-So glad to hear the surgery went well and you are resting fairly comfortably. It sounds like your PS couldn't go larger based on the condition of the skin on your left side. Sounds like symmetry is good & the puckering at the end of the incision will most likely go away. I am 6 wks post exchange tomorrow & I have a small pucker at the edge of one side of the incision on the right side. We need to give our bodies a chance to heal but you can always ask your PS about it at your post-op visit. Wishing you a speedy recovery and a great result!

Ladies - Are any of you wearing compression bras for approx. 6 wks. post-op? Also. are any of you using bio-Corneum scar treatment for 3 mos. once your incision tapes come off? That is my PS's protocol but I haven't seen anyone mention either of these in their post-exchange comments. Thanks for any input!

MrsB88 - I don't have a compression bra - just an ace bandage wrapped around the top of my foobs to keep them in place. The PS told me that I could take if off if it's too uncomfortable. She is a bit more relaxed I think, compared to other PS's I have read about. I did not have any compression after MX either, and was told to resume normal activities after surgery as my body permitted. I also have not been told to use any scar treatment cream. The NP in my PS's office said I could use any silicone based cream for scars if I wanted.

Grandma-I'm glad to hear your surgery went well. I'm sure the puckering will flatten out. I hope you have a comfortable rest tonight.

I'm healing well. I still have a bit of pain and swelling. Nothing that I can't handle. I am wearing a sports bra as well as a bandeau over top. I need to keep the girls down. They like to drift upwards. My PS just said to use a sports bra to push them down. I am being very careful to keep them compressed this time. I want that to be my last surgery

Mrs, I had to wear the surgical bra and ace wrap for 1 week after surgery and no shower. Post op appointment got that off and had to wear a sports bra 24/7 for at least 6 weeks. I have gummies and they have to stay put so no rotation occurs.

MrsB88 - I have used Biocorneum, it is the recommendation of my PS as well. I have not worn any compression across the chest because I have had fat grafting, which should not be compressed, but for those who have not had FG along with exchange I have seen use of compression to help hold the implants where they have been placed to encourage stability and pocket healing without movement.

Thanks grandma3X, DeeRatz & Robin for your input re: compression. Robin - I have gummies too so maybe that's why the 24/7 for 6 wks allowing enough time for the pockets to heal so the implants won't rotate. Thanks for your insight! Grandma3X - the Bio-Corneum is a silicone cream so it's good to hear that your PS mentioned silicone cream for scars. Dee - I agree with you that I want to do all I can to make this my last revision surgery!

hi ladies, I'm new to this thread. I'm an August UMX, currently doing chemo. Last infusion schedule mid-nov. hoping for some advice from you!

My main concern now is my reconstruction surgery. While the MO says she is confident my blood work will be normal 4 weeks after last chemo, PS is concerned with body being too tired for proper healing. So, I had a single mastectomy and was planning to do a lift on my "native" breast during the implant switch surgery. Turns out, the surgery is more invasive for the healthy breast as there is a lot of pressure on the tissue and the wounds may not close properly. For the implant breast not so much - relatively simple. Now I'm a little scared, I hadn't realized it was such a major procedure. Has any one of you done the same surgery? What has been your experience? I have to confess, I want it done mid December because of kids' and my school breaks and because my mom will be staying through the end of December and can help me with the house And the kids. It just that the nurse painted such a vivid picture of things that could go wrong... Thanks

    Hi Smile

I am a June UMX with exchange scheduled for 12/28.  I will have the lift/reduce on my R later. While many have done the surgeries at the same time, for me the separation is due to a couple of reasons.  One is the recovery on the R is expected to be much longer than the L exchange -- 4- 5 weeks???  I have the exchange scheduled for the intersession of semesters as I am a teacher but due to the PS's schedule I will be back in a classroom 10 days after exchange! I have a 4 week break, but he isn't available until 2.5 weeks into the break! So...I don't have time in Decemember/January for another long recovery.I have the lift/reduce scheduled for next summer (June 2017) when I will have time to recover -- got to remember that the non-MX side hasn't been through surgery and will have fresh nerves and all else to "get over" the invasiveness of the surgery.  Also for me, they removed 1250cc at MX, having an 800 implant at exchange, but that leaves me with a large lift/reduce -- so again, more recovery. And the final piece for me is I would like to lose 20-30 pounds before they do the lift/reduce...don't want them to take too much!

Wow, every PS is so different and of course every patient and surgery are also so different! I too have gummies; 24 hours post-surgery my PS said to take off the surgical bra. He said I could resume showers and could wear any kind of bra or camisole, or I could wear no bra at all. It has been two and a half years, and I've had no problems.

MrsB88, I am wearing supporting bra for 6 weeks. No scar treatment, PS told me to use scar treatment if I wish once the incision is healed.

Congrats Grandma, I bet it feels good for TE's to be gone :-)
