    Hi Ladies,

I've been reading all your posts but haven't posted anything here in a while.  Just had my 7 of 8 tx today - only 1 left on 7/20 my birthday and I'm ecstatic.  No rads for me so I'm tentatively scheduled for my exchange surgery on 8/10.  Had a hard time emotionally getting past the last 2 tx, seemed like I had come so far and then time just started dragging.  But... now that I only have 1 left I feel myself starting to come back and now looking forward to the exchange.

Whippetmom, you had helped me a little while ago and now I have a little more info.  I am 5'0 98lbs. Ribcage 29", TE133 SV.  Had to stop expanding at 250cc because of a stitch poking at my skin and PS not wanting to mess with it or have it poke through with chemo going on, and frankly I'm over the fills anyhow.  I saw her today and she said I will probably get Natrelle High Profile silicone implants 300, 325 maybe 350cc.  How does that sound to you?  Said I will probably be a full B cup maybe small C depending on the bra.  I'm good with the size as I am a small person and do not want too much VAVOOM, would like to look natural and not too made up.

To all you ladies, congrats on how far you have all come, we should all be proud of ourselves.  Anyone heard the Bombshell song "Fight like a girl" - Let's all do it!

    HUGS, Dawn

Could I be added to the Xchange List for 8/10 - I would love to see my name in lights!

Hi ladies...been lurking more than posting lately...I unfortunately have learned today that my exchange will be postponed to 8/5 because of a rash I have right now.  It is called pityriasis rosea, which is benign but UGLY with a rash that apparently lasts for weeks.  Four weeks with it so far, and I still have it. I know it is just a minor setback...hopefully 8/5 is the charm!  Hugs to you all...and hopefully no one else gets delayed!

packergirl:  It is time to line up a consultation with another PS - maybe two.  Your current PS does not know how to correct this superior shifting of the TE and you need to find someone who does.  Tissue expanders migrate to the outside of the chest wall - which is called "superior malposition" very often and there are plenty of medical journals which discuss how to correct this type of malposition.  You obviously live in Wisconsin = my daughter is a huge Packer fan - and so let's see what we can come up with.

OncRN,  sorry about the pitiraisis roscea, I had that for 4 months last year.  It lasted 4 months for me and I had it when I was diagnosed with BC.  It was almost gone by the time I had the mastectomy at the end of December!  It is more annoying than anything, I felt like I had the plague.  Fortunately mine was in the fall where I could wear full clothing.

    Annie, welcome back!

Linda54,  glad that you are ready for the last part of the recon.  How long has it been since your exchange?

Dawn, you are almost at the finish line where the major fatique sets in, I am glad that you got your second wind. I hope you get the breasts that will make up for the dues you have had to pay with BC.

Judy,  Hurray for you!  I can't wait to hear from you about this second part of your journey, I hope that your PS gives you the best news and that this next step  to softer foobs is easy on you.  Jan

Dawn:  Okay, the size - 300 to 350 cc's - sounds about right - .but ask your PS which mfr of implants - Mentor, Allergan or other and which STYLE....We want to know if he is thinking high profile or moderate plus profile.  So ask his nurse and let us know the answer.  I think you are going to prefer high profile......

Hello Judy and congrats on being finished with the rads......

Visited with Jordan's mom this evening.  They took the drains out of his head.  They are bringing him out of the drugged coma but slowly.  Could be a few days before they know anything.  So we continue to pray for a full recovery . Thanks Judy

Jan, I had my exchange Oct 20th 2008......I had a revision on one side May 5th.  So that caused a delay in getting nipps.

Dawn, you are a tiny little thing......I am petite but you are petiter LOL.....I have a 29" band also.  I have the Naturelle style 20 HP one is 350cc and 375 cc.  I fill out a 34C....No way do I fit into a 34B.....I think you will look fine with what you have.......best wishes to you and a happy early birthday......We have an August surgery list going if you want to visit that topic and be added there.  I will soon be having nipple/areola recon...

whippetmom/Estepp- Bless you ladies! You have given me the fight to go get some other opinions. And a renewed hope that maybe this is large gap in the center and serious lopsidedness is fixable. My current PS was recommended by some augementation ladies who who love him... but that is diffferent than doing reconstruction work. Don't get me wrong he does reconstruction work- but I am his first delayed reconstruction in at least 3 years if not more. Most all his ladies are immediate reconstuctions. He feels there is no difference in what he has to do.. I wonder... I have yet to meet any reconstruction ladies who have recommendations for a great reconstruction PS in Wisconsin. Off to do some research to locate some other good ones.

    Hugs

    Thanks Wippetmom,

Nurse told me today Allergan was the brand and High Profile.  So based on that sounds like you agree with my PS.  Thanks so much, we all put so much stock in your opinion having gone through all this.  I know PS are the professionals but with your expertise in all this and having been a patient yourself I think you are a valued professional to all of us.  Thanks again from the bottom of my heart.  After I have the exchange surgery I'm going to attempt to post pics as I have taken some along the way.

Linda - Thanks for you kind comments and input.  I really appreciate it.  I'll check out the August surgery.  Good Luck with your upcoming surgery.

    Linda54,

Do you remember how wide the diameter of your tissue expanders were?  Mine are 12.7,which I have said all along were too wide.  They also shifted, which didn't help.  My ps ordered implants that are 13 cc's in diameter.  He said he doesn't want to reduce the pocket by an inch or it will result in shifting.  I am wondering how much your pocket was reduced to accomodate the style 20.  I am thinking the style 20 or even the style 45 would be best for my 27 inch ribcage.  Style 45 would be about a 2 inch reduction in pocket size so it probably isn't an option.

My neurotic pre-op appointment is tomorrow morning to question his choice.

Dawn,  congrats on getting to the finish line!  My last chemo was Jan 20, so I'm 6 mos ahead of you!  I promise you'll feel better emotionally afterwards.  Chemo really brings you down.  Recon gives us something positive to look forward to.  I'm so happy for you to get there.

Laura, my prayers are with you, girl, for the best exchange ever!  You are such a special person.

Linda54, I'm still praying for Jordan.  Congrats on upcoming nipples!:)

Judy,  congrats on no more rads!Yippee!

oncRN, I'm so sorry you're having to go through this waiting.  I hope you're not in pain.  Praying for you to heal fast.

dani, you might need to put on those pretty pink boxing gloves before your appt tommorrow!

Hope everyone has a great day!

Sorry but I have no clue about the size or anything of my expanders.  Back when I had mine in   all this sizing stuff was not going on so no need to ask questions about the expander....as far as I was concerned it was just to expand the skin and muscle..........Sorry I cannot help you....I would think your PS would know what size to place, just threaten him like Laura did with her PS LOL.......just let him know your feelings,,,,,the best to you

Deen, thanks for your continued prayers for Jordan......

packergirl--whippetmom and estepp are sooo right! I don't know exactly what kind of rib cage problem you have, but I have a bad case of scolosis: my spine is a double-S curve, and my torso is twisted so that the ribs stick out farther on one side than the other. One of my breasts (the cancerous one) was always much larger. I told my PS I wanted to be bodacious, and I really wanted killer cleavage.  Well, he gave me what I wanted!  He augumented my smaller breast to match the reconstructed breast, and I have cleavage even with no bra at all.  My breasts are just one inch apart. So, you should be able to have cleavage too! Good luck finding the right PS!
