Gosh, girls, I remember when that song first came out! I'm feeling old all of a sudden! Laughing When I was in law school thirty years ago (eeeek!), a busload of us female law students went to the state capital to lobby for the ERA, and we sang that song a lot. It's still true!

    Love to all of you!

I bet if we hit Las Vegas, Vegas will never be the same again!Laughing

Diane.. HOW COOL IS THAT! You sang that song lobbying for the ERA! I am Only 41  and I remember mom listening to that song a lot as a tween.. and as an adult with BC facing all the trials of that.. that song took on a TOTALLY different meaning to me. I love how music can do that. My beautiful dh plays in a local band here and music is a huge part of our life.  He is playing the drums right now in his studio here..... :).. thus.. I am online with my girls!

FREEMONT street Vino.. yes... that is where dh and I had the most fun.... Mermaids... LOL... mucho drinks and nickle slots...hehe.....

Laura - I'm 54, and was 21 when I got out of UK law school in 1976 (just to date myself further!). I love music too, everything from opera to broadway to rock.  What kind of music does your dh play? I tried drums once in 7th grade; after one week, my mother said "get those things out of this house!", and I became a cellist!

I can just hear us all singing that song around the pool in Vegas!

Ok ~ a few things before I try to fall asleep....

My revisions are going to have to wait the dr says, so it will be fall before that happens I am sure.  I won't stop the Xeloda and Avastin until mid-June then I will have to wait at least 3-4 weeks before anything can be done.  I think I will do it around Thanksgiving when I can have more time off of work.

Laura ~ that song indeed has more meaning to it now.   Love you!  I am with you, I will NOT see progression!  I did do some shopping therapy today though... I choose LIFE!

Did someone say Vegas?? When will that be? PLEASE say around the 4th of July because I will be out that way then!!!!

Who thought it was a great idea to be moving the clock an hour forward??? I am so looking forward to church tomorrow, but I just want to sleep in one day a week!

    Love and prayers to all!

wow... I actually turned onto my side while I was sleeping last night......and even though I am sore from the exchanges.....there was no raw "edward scissorhand" scraping from the expanders to deal with......WOOOOOOHOOOO.

So far these are great.....may not look perfect yet and have those long inframammory incisions again....the incision actually extends about 3-4 inches under each armpit.....but the ps trimmed and softened the shape on each side..   I got 800 cc silicon moderrate profile....I will double check on the card info....to be more accurate later today......just so happy they are soft and firm...lol..like I had back wen I was 25......the one thing I don't get it how we each get such different sizes with the implants...I found a C cup from my sister and tried it on.....looks like what I will end up with.....but am happy to be out of that horriblle expander pain.

       love and prayers to all......Elaine

    Laura,

What an awesome thing for you to be doing - helping out at the Breast Center.  Those women will love your spirit and your great knowledge and experience with wigs since you're a beautician (or hair stylist - not sure what the proper terminology is now!) and have gone through chemo yourself.  You're a perfect fit for that job, but I just hope it won't be too draining for you.  I know you've got a HUGE heart and it has to be so hard seeing women with Stage 4.  What a caring and generous thing for you to do!

Laura - What a wonderful ministry and blessing for you to offer to women undergoing chemo.  You are part of making something beautiful come out of this terrible disease.

I am in San Diego and my sister really does not need much assistance!  She came home from the hospital yesterday after her bilateral mastectomy.  She took an hour nap and then was up for the rest of the evening.  We ate dinner and played Aggravation - a board game - and then watched a movie and, between us, ate an entire bag of Good and Plenty. [Okay, so I ate more than she did.]  She is up this morning, reading at the kitchen table and we are talking and yukking it up.  Amazing...the doctor told her she has the pectoral muscles of an athlete.  Her expander is an Allergan 133 MV [moderate height/variable projection]- with a fill capacity of 500 cc's. [Documenting this for her easy reference later.]

Thank you everyone for your thoughts and prayers.

Elaine I'm so happy you felt so much better last night...

it's so nice to get rid of those hard expanders

with cup sizes it depends on the size of your rib cage

I think I heard the cup size of a 32D and a 34 C is the same thing

I think the larger the band it take more to fill the cup size if that makes any sense

Deb I'm so happy to hear your sister is doing so well.

Hi Ladies...Speaking of good songs, this one by Olivia Newton John reminds me of this forum!

It's called, "Right Here With You"...it is an emotional song for me!  Here's the link and lyrics if you want to check it out.  (Hopefully this works)...

A Celebration In Song :: Right Here With You (Duet with Olivia Newton-John)
(Words and Music by Delta Goodrem & Olivia Newton-John)

Don't give up here I am
And if you need a helping hand
I'm gonna be right here with you
I can feel a knowing here between us
Yes you walk on the path I walk too
It takes just one second one moment to change your life
But deep down you know you'll survive
Suddenly your deepest fears are spoken
But you can't let your spirit be broken
It takes just one second to stand up and say it's my life
    I won't give up
Don't give up here I am
And if you need a helping hand
I'm gonna be right here with you
    You're not alone
    I've been there too
And I understand what you've gone through
I'm gonna be right here with you
    Right here with you
Sometimes there is not a rhyme or reason
So you search for something to believe in
Life is a dance and the answer to living is love
Don't give in don't give up
    Here I am
And if you need a helping hand
I'm gonna be right here with you
    You're not alone
    I've been there too
And I understand what you go through
I wanna be right here with you
You will never be the same
You can see the rainbow through the pain
    Let your heart be strong
    Feel the golden sun
    Don't give up
    Here I am
And if you need a helping hand
I'm gonna be right here with you
    You're not alone
    I've been there too
And I understand what you go through
I wanna be right here with you
    Right here with you
Don't give in don't give up
Don't give in don't give up
Yes I'll always be right here with you
Don't give in don't give up
I'll always be right here with you
Don't give in don't give up
Yes I'll always be right here with you
Don't give up here I am
And if you need a helping hand
I wanna be right here with you
    Right here with you

Wow!  Lots to read on this post today.  And lots of good songs (talk about memories!!!)  Sandy, many thanks for your nice compliments - I don't mind at all your mentioning my photos.  I agree - it's helpful for others to see the process.

And Laura you have such a gift for encouragement.  I have thoroughly enjoyed your input and if I were stage 4, I would want someone like you living next door!  I hope you receive lots of encouragement for all that you give to others.  During this whole process I have felt SO humbled by the women who have fought a bigger fight than mine and have the highest respect for all of you who looked the DEVIL in the face and beat him.  And by the way, my name is Janet.  Laughing

Sandy, you and I have a hobby in common, though I'm a lightweight - we both like to mountain bike!  My husband and I have a guide to the trails in our state and have done some technical ones (our bikes are better than we are!) but we prefer as little incline as possible.  Now, that's the definition of soft!  We're a couple of weenies.

Elaine, congrats on your exchange and on sleeping on your side!   What a relief, huh?

Deborah - So glad you sister came through her MX so well.  I spent some time up the day after mine, but not the whole day!  She's a trooper.  And you get the added bonus of San Diego weather.  It's 14 degrees outside as I write this.

NVDiane - let's start the BC Band - what a hoot!   I play piano/keyboard and I played drums for a short while!  I tried them in high school and the music looked like a chicken walked across the page, so that was the end of it.  But I love the cello!   It is my all time favorite stringed instrument followed by the stand up bass, neither of which I can play.

Diane - we are still praying for you and believing this to be your winning battle.  I love the little ditty in the cartoon Finding Nemo that says, "just keep swimming... just keep swimming..." That's what I think of when I read the verse, "Choose life..."   Choose life... choose life...

Love all you ladies - you add a lift to my day.  God bless

Good thoughts and good wishes and great exchanges to all having their surgeries this week....I have to add me, tho not an exchange.  I will be getting my ovaries and uterus removed on Wednesday, so won't be on for a bit (I think a few weeks, it prob. cannot be done  laparoscopically) ....

Hope it can be, but if not, I'll back on when I can.  Love you all so much!  Please send good thoughts and prayers for no cancer in these goodies when they pull all the plumbing.

    Best of luck to all:

    love
