hi ladies! well I am back from the PS.... her nurse took of the bandages and she went to hand me a little mirror, are you kidding??? I needed to look in the full length one on the back of the door, not a chintzy little hand mirror jeez!!! so I stepped towards the mirror and took a deep breath and looked, I was so terrified that I would hate them, but they look lovely!! I cried so much, darn PMS or menopause or whatever the heck is going on! They are very perky! lovely and soft, and I havent' heard too much of the squishing/farting since the bandages came off.  The PS came in and told me I looked fantastic! She put me back into my sports bra which pushed them together and gave me some serious cleavage! I came home and had a lovely shower, so I am feeling better thank goodness! They DO look a little hamburger-bunish to me and they were squished by the bandages, and when I asked her if they will fluff, she had no idea what I meant?? so what exactly does fluffing mean?

    ta!

Thanks Sandy!! Jax! I hear you, need to get on with life! This whole process is crazy, I think that is why I was bawling the last few days, what we have all had to deal with......how many of us there are....it breaks my heart and I think that is what hit me in the past few days it hit home and not since my dx have I felt so crushed and sad, because I know more women are being diagnosed daily and will have to endure this too and its awful, thank God for this board, its my sanity, you women are warriors in every sense of the word, you are my heros I feel honored and blessed to have you in my life. thank you....

    Hi Sandy

My ribcage is 35 inches. My PS is going to use Mentor moderate plus gel implants 700cc. I've been expanded to 710cc for a bit now. My PS specializes in breast recon....says they are his favorite patients. Really, other than the pain I've had with the expanders, they look beautiful!!!! They measure at DD with no nipples. A friend of mine whose sister is having a mastectomy next week thanked me for taking the "fear out of it" when I showed her what to expect.

Just counting my days till the 18th....yee haw!!! Vegas here I come.... sin city look out!!!

Lorraine - I love your word, "lovely!"  That's how I felt when i looked down and saw the prettiest little cleavage peeking out from my bandages.  I think my new girls are lovely, too - even though one is bandaged up higher to heal for a time (pocket revision).  congrats on being so happy with the new you!  i don't blame you for crying - I think it is very special.

The TE's were filled to the same amount, but the right side had a fold in it and the left side was jabbing my sternum, so maybe the placement wasn't the same.  And definitely the left side that looks bigger has less tissue over the top ot it, but I thought that would make it look smaller.

Congrats to Lorraine--it's great fun to read a happy message!  Jax, I think we should all have a lovely wall hanging with your wishes on it, "Here's hoping all your buns get fluffy!"  Watch your guests' faces as they try to decipher that one!

Kathie, how nice to be able to give some hope to a woman just starting this process, and how grateful we all are to have this forum to do that!

I have a question about pocket revision and what that means--my PS said I may need some fill-in done in addition to the nip reconstruction and tattooing--that fat would be taken from another part of my body to fill in gaps in the breast.  Am I understanding this correctly, and is that what pocket revision is?

I'm not sure but I think pocket revision can be many things.  It just where they try to make the pocket or our breast mound look better.  I think sometime it could also be doing stitches to make the pocket tighter or to help keep the implant in a certain spot.

Suzie - I am glad you are healing well, but sorry you don't feel like they are a real match. I hope it is just a matter of settling. I don't know much about pocket revision yet, but I am certain someone will chime in.

Lorraine - I am psyched that you love your new foobs. What size and type did you get?

Firstmate - I am sorry you are so uncomfortable, but your surgery is coming soon. Best wishes!

There are at least five exchanges next week, here's to more happy, bouncing foobs!

3/10 - Choice - Exchange to Allergan implants

    3/11 - Soccermom96 - Exchange to silicone

    3/11 - Daisy6 - Exchange to saline

    3/11 - Mom_of_2 - Exchange

    3/11 - Karen9516 - Exchange

Hello all, and thank you so much for including me on the "list"!!!!

Laura, I am so glad to see you on here.  I hate that you have to keep on getting these tests.  You keep that great sense of humor.   I couldn't have gotten thru this without mine.  You are a shining star on here, always thinking of us all.  Bless you, sweetie.

Good to hear all the exchanges went well, they do drop and fluff but for me it took about 3-4 months before it suddenly looked perfect.  I was amazed by the daily tiny changes and also by how long it did take.  So, patience ladies, you will have your girls!

I'm with Sandy, it takes about a week for me to snap out of anesthesia.

I'm on next wednesday for my prophylactic oopharectomy (that's the ovary surgery, awful name) and full hysterectomy.  They will attempt laparoscopic, but kind of doubtful, due to c section and no other live births of children.  I guess it's easier if you've had a few kids, but I'm hopeful that they can, as it's a 2 weeks recovery if lap, vs. the six weeks, full abdominal.

Anybody praying, pls. send a few up that there is no cancer in my uterus or ovaries and that I get the lap one.

Always something.  but, Laura, I am calling it the "leggo my Eggos" surgery and my drs. office enjoyed it and is now using it too.  So humor is the big helper!!

love and health to all of you

Hi Annie, Good luck next Wednesday on having the 2wk recovery!  I'll be sending some prayers your way for that and mostly for those eggs being cancer free!

Montana Mom - Good for you!  Glad all is well.  A shopping trip for sexy bras is just what the doctor ordered!

Lorraine - I'm so glad you are loving those foobs!!!!!! That is great news.  I haven't been on for a couple of days so when I was reading the past days posts I was pretty sad for you.  I absolutely hate the SE of anesthesia.  I get really down too after the 2nd or 3rd day. The day of surgery I feel emotionally okay, maybe because I am so busy puking but after that I am just an open fawcet! Farting foobs!  What next!  Oh thank goodness we can see the humor in some of this stuff.

(((((((((Laura))))))))))thinking of you and praying too!

(((((((((((((Ladies))))))))))))) so much love here.. THANK YOU!

Annie.. I am so glad to see you here.. !!! Next Wednesday I will be stormin' Heaven! This is all so crazy huh ladies! You are to sweet to have any more cancer.. Nope, not gonna happen! Laura says so.... ROF!!!!!!

Tracey.. I have no idea when my exchange will be. It most likely will be in Oct... but I am not sure when. I would never hold up a fun trip for everyone. So... I would say plan it.. and I will set my exchange date right after... something like that. If we did it after my exchange.. it could be Nov. and that is getting us into family holiday fun...

I say.. go for it... DO NOT plan around me.. and I will give it 100% effort to plan around you all!

I have been to Vegas once with hubby on our 20th Ann. I think..lol... I had a blast... I personally could only get away for a weekend or Sunday-Mon-Tues... would we bring hubbies.. or just the girls...

Something to look forward to... :)

Thank you ladies for thinking about me and my scans.. and thank you for even considering planning a trip around my exchange.. wow.. you are beautiful women..:)

Lorraine:  I just cried here at the computer, reading that you said your new foobs were "lovely."  That huge apprehension just melting away.  I could feel it!  Your feelings leading up to the "unveiling" are just what so many of us feel.  I know I was SO anxious for my BLM, once I learned I had BC. But I am not nearly as anxious for the exchange.  I have your same apprehension about the outcome!!!

tracyz:  I cannot fathom the emotional upheaval of attending that young survivor conference.  I personally know it would have sent me into such a funk...so many heartbreaking stories....

Praying for  - HuneyB2 - her surgery is today.

    Vegas sounds great!

    Prayer Request:

Could I ask my dear "City" friends to pray today for my sister, Deedee?  She is on her way now to the hospital for her prophylactic bilateral mastectomies.  She decided to have the surgery, when I was diagnosed [October last year]- also due to our extensive family history of the disease.  She is having immediate reconstruction and I just called her today and she said she has read through all 32 pages of our Exchange City threads....so she will be joining us soon!  She said she was laughig her head off about Lorraine's FARTING FOOBS!

I am going to San Diego tomorrow to stay with her and help her recover.  She came to stay with me when I had my surgery and it was such a BLESSING!  Even though we have wonderful husbands....there is just something about having each other at this time in our lives for situations like this.

We appreciate your prayers!  Thank you so much!

Prayers to all who need them this week and good luck to everyone going for the big exchange.

I am getting better about my foobs.  They do look very natural under my shirt but I still notice the puckering on the left. My niece was over earlier today and told me the look juciy like real boobs.  That helped a lot, but to me they also don't look the same size but I hope this gets better with time.

I had skin sparing surgery with the masectomy so the appearance is quite natural.  I hope they look better when I get nipples.

Deborah - I am thinking of your sister today. My healing book says to envision the person wrapped in a large comforter that will protect and comfort her. So I am thinking of her wrapped in a large blue quilt. I know you will be wonderful for her to have while she heals. Take good care of her. Take care. - Jean

Annie~~Thanks so much for the encouraging words.  Being just a month out from exchange surgery, I have a serious lack of patience, but knowing it takes the full four months helps me to settle down.  I'm looking down right now at my scoop-neck top and noticing that the top is even a bit crooked--more skin showing on the right!

We have a party coming up on the 27th, and all the friends attending know about my situation, so I was hoping to be able to show off a bit--maybe I will!  Our host's trophy wife had augmentation, so I'm sure there will be comparisions.  I like her, very sweet, but so very young!

I wish you all the best with your leggo my eggo surgery.  Boy, it's always something, isn't it?  My sister had a hysterectomy for a pre-cancerous condition  when she was in her 30's with young children at home.  The six-week recovery was a challenge, as she looked fine and had trouble getting the kids to understand they had to wait on themselves.  She's 47 now and doing beautifully.  So here's wishing you the lap method with no cancer cells--prayers are being sent your way.

I had my first fill today and found out that my expanders are 450cc's. I am only 5'0" and 104 pounds.  The ps wasn't able to fill the expanders at all during surgery because I was so tight.  Even without saline, I was much larger then before the mastectomy.  They gave me 210 cc's in each foob today and I am huge.  I think that I am a large "b" or "c" cup now. You have to understand that I was a small "A" prior to surgery so I am thrilled!  I will go back in two weeks for another fill and then I think I will be done.  PS said he was only planning on 2 or 3 fills.  I'm wondering how you can tell how many cc's would give you a C cup?  I was only planning on a full B when this started but now I am experiencing foob greed !  Because of my small frame, anything larger then a C wouldn't look right.  I am thinking 350 cc's will be just what I need.

My exchange will be about 3 months after my last fill so I could be looking at the end of June.  My daughter will be graduating then so I am going to try to convince him to do the exchange at the beginning of June.
