HI ladies, I had my exchange back in Aug. and everything is fine. My ps did a nice job and will be finishing with my nips in April sometime. My thing is I dont feel as sexy or appealing as I use to. I know it has been a delayed reaction, but I have been having alot of tears lately about the lose of my breasts. What hurts me the most is that I have noticed that my husband has not once touched me there, not even during sex. I feel like I am letting him make me feel like I am not whole anymore. Its nothing he has ever said or did, but what he is not doing that hurts my feelings. I have told him that its ok to touch me, they ( implants) are fine, but nothing. Its like he only has sex with half of me, and I am now starting to feel like I am just half!!! I am hurting inside, is there anyone that has words for this?

I'm going to see the gyn oncologist today to schedule surgery to have my ovaries removed per my oncologist request...... I've had a hysterectomy but they didn't take my ovaries. Does anyone know the recovery time on this and if it will be inpat. or outpat. Thanks, aj

I feel for you...I've been the opposite my DH wants to touch me there but I seem to push him away..it doesn't hurt or anything...it just feels strange. Maybe because your DH knows what you've been through that in the back of his mind he still feels he may hurt you & is not telling you??? Maybe HE does not know how to deal with it either. I did not feel sexy either because of the way "it" looked (I had a single MX). I've now found ways to feel comfortable with myself...I have found that those baby doll lingeries that cover up the bustline really helps. It conceals the bustline & changes the focus on other things...like feeling sensual in such a sexy lingerie. Now I focus on looking sensual as a whole package...does this make sense? !!Maybe this is not what you are looking for in an answer but I think this is all a normal reaction. Just as we have to accept our new selves...it probably is equal to say that our significant others have to do the same as well. Give him time.

Believe 1,
Yes my Dh had a hard time touching my new foobs. First time he just kinda pushed at them. It really hurt me that he said he "needs time to get used to them". Yup I remember really crying over that one. Now he wants to touch them but I keep saying to him, but you don't like them. I know I should get over his initial reaction. But I feel like he's only touching them to make me feel better and not that he really wants to touch them.
NAE,
Hay girl. How's the exercise going?

Janet ~
Just went this AM on the elliptical...I try to do at least 2-3 miles on it. I went back to my step class Wednesday for the first time in months & got good feedback from the girls...made me feel great! I don't know how I did it but I had actually lost a little weight...I think this motivated me to continue w/ the gym.
Take care1

Hi all,
Based on an incident a friend told me about losing some privacy on a community forum (she found a posting of hers repeated in the personal blog of a forum member - her name was not mentioned, but she felt very "exposed"), I got curious and looked up the BC.org forum rules - I mean how much of what I say here actually stays here? The rules state "By using the Discussion Boards or Chat Rooms, you are granting Breastcancer.org a perpetual, exclusive, royalty-free and irrevocable right and license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, distribute, transmit, publicly display, publicly perform, sublicense, create derivative works from, transfer, and sell any such messages, files or communications". For some reason that freaks me out just a little. I live in a very small community and so I recently went through my posts and deleted some of the more personal ones. Therefore when you see "post deleted by author" you'll know I just didn't want some of my more personal experiences floating about. I'll still share, support, fist pump and wah-hoo away, but stuff like on dating for instance - those posts are gone. Thanks!

I hope the wise women here can give me advice on my upcoming exchange. I have been reading your posts and would like your help. I am 5'5" 140 pounds and my measurement is 30.5 inches. I have the MentorSiltex Style 6200 TE 275cc. There are 225cc in my TE now. I am happy with the size I am now 34C, so my PS didn't do any more fills (also my skin was not recovering so fast). I think the PS is looking the Mentor Round Gel High Profile in the range of 300-350. Will this give me the 34C I want?

Im313: I personally think I would hold off on fills for a couple of weeks and try for a little more volume. [Unless, that is, you have had rads and this is the reason for skin issues?] Try for another 50 cc's. You need more volume in the implants to compensate for the rigidity of the TEs. Look at dimension rather than volume. The TEs are 10.7 cm wide by 6.2 cm projection. That projection is enabling you to fill a C cup. You will not have that projection with 300 cc implants. Well, I suppose you could come close with ultra high projection implants but they would look fairly bullet-like in that lower volume. I think you need implants with a width of at least 12.0 cm for a 30.5 inch ribcage and this would be 375 cc's. 400 cc's would be preferable. This would mean a projection of around 4.5....as I recall....without looking at the Mentor chart. If you could get to 275 ccs in those TEs.....and then exchange to at least 375 ccs. Otherwise you might end up quite a bit smaller than you want.
Perhaps some others with your height, weight, ribcage can chime in...

lm313 - Whippetmom is the goddess when it comes to this stuff. I can say that I am 5'2", currently 115lbs, ribcage around 30 or 30.5 like you and my PS just put in Mentor HP 300cc's last week and no way am I a C. I wanted to be a B - and that's what I have. And right now, since I'm still swollen and these haven't fluffed/dropped - chances are I'll look even smaller (which again, I wanted). I'm not schooled in this, but I would think 300's would have you definitely below a "C" cup. Keep asking around.
Lilah - Yeah. Who knew?

Im313,
I'm similiar in size also, 5'3', 119 lbs and rib cage around 29. I have Allergan style 20, with 425ccs. I can wear 34C but prefer the looser 36B. I am so glad to have the 425cc as PS originally thought 350cc. Thanks to Deborah for helping me go larger. I really like this size.

Wow, okay ^_^ I went yesterday and since I did not need chemo or rad. the PS is filling me once a week, every friday !! The right side has shifted a little and I feel the TE under my armpit. Not comfy. When I look at my self in the mirror the left one looks pretty good considering, but I can definately see the how the right one slopes toward the right and I have an indent in my chest right above the TE. They can fix this when they put the permanent implant in right ?? It is also painful when the PS is removing the needle after my fill (on the right side), OUCH !! He is going to do 2 more fills@ 100cc's , one week apart if I do well with this one to total 400cc's. I am a little nervous. Not in too much pain, it's mostly small amout of pain with more discomfort. So I guess we will see how I feel by next Friday.....

Dreamcatcher, I'll let you know in a week!! I'm pretty uneven now and am hoping to be better after exchange. TEs are very different from final result.

Thanks Katey, I look forward to hearing back from you !! Good Luck ^_^ Lea

Dreamcatcher -- if 100 cc's is painful, ask for less. I was getting 100 cc's and then my PS switched to 60 cc's at a time and it's like night and day in terms of the discomfort... (the lesser amount is only slightly uncomfortable, if that, the 100 cc's was painful for a few days following each fill).

Hey, my dear friends! All is OMG do I hurt!!!! Please excuse my typing errors as I'm still heavily doped up on vicodin and soma.....I didn't get to the OR 'til about 3pm - home @ 6:30pm.....didn't leave my bed yesterday for over 12 hours - not even to pee..... I'm bandaged from neck to nearly navel in foam tape.....the SLIGHTEST movement of my left arm is sends me over the edge. All I can say is that my ps definitely did what he set out to do.......it's just not much fun right now. I know some of you have sent me PM's......I'll try to read them when I can......just wanted to let you all know I'm okay.... (my dh loaned me his laptop so that I could do this in bed instead of at my desk computer...) I'll talk to y'all soon........

It may be because he knows that you can't feel him touching you there and he wants to be connected with you and not have a one-sided experience touching you in a place he can feel but you can't.
I once said to my S/O that he could touch them and he said, "I know, but I also know you can't really feel it when I do and I want you to feel it when I touch you." Now he was a bit of an insensitive oof on all other accounts, so if this could run through his head...

Hi Deborah, I went for my first fill of 50cc each TE this week. They seem to be stretching/growing towards under my arms looking like footballs instead of being round and stretching the skin towards the front! MY PS says it is normal and implants won't be that way, but I question about all the skin being stretched towards the sides and the front looking so flat! I worry if they'll have enough skin on the front part to build the nipples later? Will I end up with ‘square' foobs?
Also, my PS is saying that we can go ahead and do the exchange in about two weeks after my last fill! I'm finding it strange because everyone is saying it needs to be there for at least 2 months. She tells me it is doctor's preference in my case but I don't need to wait and, once right size is achieved, it isn't necessary to wait. Could it be because I did skin sparing surgery?? I was filled w/ 300cc during surgery.
I am at 350cc and she thinks we are there already but we can go bigger if I want to. We have not yet discussed final size, etc. I will be seeing her again in two weeks and I should tell her if I want more fills or not! I will discuss with her your suggestion for Allergan 425-450cc. Do you think I can get this model/size with TE's as they are filled to 350? As I mentioned to you before, I'm hoping to have the final implants to be around 34C+, and my measurements are: Height: 5'3.5", weight: 127.5 lbs, ribcage: 29.3"
I've been reading that it is best to be a little bigger than final desired size because the area tends to shrink once implants drop and fluff! I worry about getting TE's much bigger and they keep growing into my armpits! I appreciate your input, Thank you! Erika

Dreamcatcher......I was filled at 50cc at a time. I went every week for almost three months and never had much of a problem with tightness or pain. I really think slow is the way to go. Why put yourself through that if it is unnecessary? Do hope for some relieve for you.
Val, hope you are feeling much better. One day, one pain pill at a time. Think of the beautiful results!!
I'm feeling much better today. Still have some tight breast feeling but all in all, not too bad. Hate to take pain meds if not absolutely necessary because I get so constipated from them. Just take at night so I can sleep now.
Healing thoughts and prayers for everyone.
Hugs, Kathy
