Deb.. this might be a good.." last resort before loosing the implant too..( with rads breasts) "

My rads breast is soft but there is a gal here.. on bco.. that lives about 40 minute from you Deb.. and she is what you speak of. Her implant is VERY HARD AFTER RADIATING IT.( no previous rads)  She had been told that there is nothing to do.. except flap surgery due to how hard her implant is. I WILL TELL HER TO pm you.... and maybe this will work for her. I doubt it..but there is always hope.

Her radiated implant also has some CC.... but... maybe she will want to hear about this...

Having the fat in front of the amazing amount of scar tissue might , at least, soften the outside.Something to read up on and ask your PS girls...! Thanks Deb!

Ha, ha, ha....yeah...IMMOBILIZED - not MOBILIZED.  If you were mobilized, you would be moving that arm like a ratchet!!!  Put on a sling so that you are forced to keep that arm from moving around...

I talked to Jazzy earlier tonight.  She's doing well and staying the night in the hospital.  I will let her update you all on what was done, but just wanted to say she's well drugged and sleeping better than me tonight LOL

Hi everybody,  Just wanted to stop in and tell you that I am scheduled for my exchange on March 11.  No fipple work at this time.  I am not looking forward to another surgery but really want to get back to my life again and just be "done" for awhile.

I'm going to talk with my PS about fat grafting when I have my pre-surgical with her in a few weeks (I'm scheduled for nipple surgery on March 24th). I have one dog-ear near my underarm that doesn't appear to be going away and I think it's because the radiated breast is pushing up that tissue. If I could just get that to "ease up" a bit -- that would be awesome!

Congrats to those who are finishing or getting one step closer to finishing this week!

Whippetmom, so happy to hear about your "fabuloso" nips!!

Navy, great to have a date!

Val, hoping it's a minor pull from being stiff the past few weeks.  Great idea to wear a sling, it's tough when you're used to being active to stop all movement!

I'm off the murder mysteries, finished Michael Fox's book, inspiring!  and now on David Eggers What is the What.  What can I say, eclectic taste!!

And spring is coming!!  amidst all the snow on the ground I have birds working on a nest in my Christmas wreath which is still on the door!

Hi ladies - just popping in to pass along some info that appeared in our central Ohio newspaper. I hadn't heard of it before, but will definitely be going after my exchange!!

There's a shop called Undone Lingerie and Shoe Boutique, 772 N. High St, Suite 101, Cols43215.  It's run by 3 women who specialize in fitting bras and lingerie. 2 of the women are certified to fit for mastectomies or cosmetic surgeries. Article doesn't mention a website, but if I find a link, I'll post it.

So if you're in Columbus, might be worth a trip downtown to check it out!  And pm me, we can meet for coffee or lunch!

Deborah--Hope it looks great.  You are so wonderful, asking questions to help others while getting your nipples done!

Val--I don't know how this relates to breasts, but I was having some pain in the area of my hyster a few weeks ago and I called the doctor's office.  The nurse told me that some of the sutures in my abdomen can take up to a year to dissolve and that I may have tugged something--My surgery was in May.  They didn't want to see me, but I was really surprised about the longevity of the internal sutures.  If you are still hurting, I would definitely get it checked out.

    Hugs--Karen

I don't get a chance to get on internet very often, but wanted to go back to discussion of one side being smaller than other.

I had BMX in October and TE's in January - I feel like my bc side is smaller than the other. I asked the PS if maybe more tissue was removed during MX - he stated that the reason I appear to be smaller on that side is because my chest wall is flat on that side while on the other side, the chest wall is rounded. He said that this occurs in several women - another factor is that on the bc side, the TE is a little higher, which he tells me that he will fix at exchange. That side also has pain longer after fills - I think that it is because it is too high - ?????

Congrats to those recovering & Best wishes to those in waiting.  (If I could, I would spend major hours at this website - wish I had found it while I was on chemo and they wouldn't let me work)

Estepp and Whippetmom - Believe me, that was EXACTLY what I was thinking I'd hear!  I had a feeling y'all would remember that!  He actually said that my protective reflexes probably prevented me from doing any damage, but to call if I still felt it today.   I'm still a bit sore, but haven't called my ps yet, as I spent the morning having my ONE YEAR appt with my onc.....four vials of blood later I'm finally home.  Going to call ps right now.....

These new nips certainly make the center of my breast look odd.  As if there is an indentation in the area around the protruding nipple.  They [the implants]  look very squared off.  Disturbing.  Does anyone recall this appearance?

Teresa -- I had one side that acted just like yours.  It oozed for weeks and was kind of yellow as well.  But it did heal just fine.  Just keep an eye on it and if it looks infected, have your PS take a look at it.

Deborah - Congrats on your new nipples!  One of my implants has always looked kind of square, but I did not have the indentation you are describing.  Your PS sound great, so I am sure they will look fabulous.   I really think I need some fat grafting, but I really don't want anymore surgery, and my PS is reluctant as well.

Jazzy -- Sorry about not getting your nipples, but it is better to be happy with your implants first.  Take care and rest up!

Val -- Sorry about the torn stitches.  I hope you are felling better soon.  Take it easy!

    Deborah,

So glad your nips are done! Did your PS just do a local anesthetic on your breast to do the nips? I tend to ramble when I'm nervous. I'm sure if I started talking during the procedure they would have found some way to silence me! Do you still have the tattooing to do?

Corn pads and goggles, huh?  Now THAT"s something I'd like to see pictures of. Sounds like you are going to work in a cranberry bog!

Baxter -  Speaking of talking during procedures.......I had "twilight" sedation when I had my knee arthroscopy and the OR nurse told me I talked about my MIL the entire time!  (not in a good way, either, I might add!)  Guess I'm glad my ps does general for nips.....

Well, the ps nurse called me back.....despite what I thought, she did not award me the "stupid award" of the week......she said that more than likely I'd irritated a nerver with my arm extension and NOT pulled any sutures.  She said I had so many deep sutures that it would be nearly impossible to have done any harm to the pocket.....very good news.  She said to just monitor swelling (don't seem to have any) and take my 600mg ibuprofen for the next couple of days to keep potential irritation down.....now I can breathe again......it's been a long day.......started out having to wake up my son early to help me get our 12-yr-old dog to the vet as she appeared septic.....dh had been called in early so wasn't home........she ended up with surgery this afternoon for ruptured cyst......always something, huh?

My right breast has always looked smaller and more flat in front, so he decided to do fat injections.  He also told me that we are working with my chest wall.  He said usually the chest is bigger on the left side to make room for the heart, hence the right breast seeming smaller.  He injected on both sides to smooth them out.  I had to have 2 tubes, one on either side.  They took out the tube on the left side since it had'nt drained anything...until she pulled it then it gushed.  I'm just hoping there wasn't something blocking it. I'm only freaked about it since it's the side I keep getting cellulits.  My ps was out of town this morning so he had his partner check me out and she said to take it out...My tummy is a bit sore where he took the fat...I sure wish he would have taking all of the fat in my tummy..wishful thinking I think.  My right breast seems swollen, at least I hope that's why it's up so high and sore.  I'm glad he told me no nips this time since my breasts will change...I want those nips in the right place!

Although I'm taking my pain pills I am still in some pain.

Deborah I'm glad things are going well with you!!  WOO HOO!!!

Thanks for all of your prayers and well wishes!  I just love you girls!

    HUGS! Jazzy
