Best wishes and lots of prayers and good karma to everyone having procedures this week, and to everyone recovering from procedures.  Good outcomes and happy girls all around!!

Thanks also Whippetmom, for the picture forum info. I've been on a few websites, but I believe the pics they show are primarily of augmentations or reductions, I think - I'd rather know pics are of reconstructions - I hope that doesn't sound weird, but I'd just rather know the pics are "someone like me".

Thanks again for your very sweet wishes, and I'm wishing Deborah, Jazzy and Kimberly the very best as well!

Here's a last minute question for you post-exchange ladies - my PS said that I should wear that stretchy velcro wrap that the hospital gives you for 48 hours and then switch to an underwire bra 24/7.  Did any of you receive similar instructions?  That seems so soon to be wearing an underwire bra.  I will call him and see if a softer bra would be ok.  I see him 4 days after surgery, which I'm happy about.

My daughter seems better (yeah!), my fridge is spotless and my laundry is done so I'm just doing the countdown here in the gray Bay Area.

NAE, I can't wait till I'm boobilious and can wear my clingy tops again!  Hurray for you!

My dear friends - I"M Back!!! - Thanks to a record-breaking snowfall - 12.5" for Dallas/Fort Worth! - we lost power for two days, and our internet just came back a few minutes ago.  All I can say is BRRRRRR!  Thank goodness we live in an old house that still had a gas space heater in the sunroom - we just hunkered down in there and the living room with the gas fireplace.  It seemed like the longest 48 hours of my life........I'm such a Southern wimp, despite growing up the Midwest!

I haven't had a chance to read the 10 pages I've missed - y'all have been busy while I've been shivering! - Just wanted to check in and say a big "Good Luck" to Whippetmom, Jazzy, Musiclovermom, and Kristinka this week.  Prayers and healing hugs are sent your way!

Kristinka, I've been in one of those velcro surgical bras 24/7 since the 4th, see the ps tomorrow.  That was different than he told me beforehand.  3 days after surgery when I could take a shower I could barely velcro it shut, now it's loose, swelling went down, not sure if you'll be up to trying on bras at 48 hours, not sure what to suggest, size is something to keep in mind.  Maybe pick up a few sizes and return which don't work?  Be sure to check pre-op directions before taking any vitamins.  I had one unusual direction, no red wine for 2 weeks before or after! (good thing I like white;)

Whaaat? 12" in Dallas?  Now you feel the pain of us northerners!  Maybe thoughts of moving south are not the greatest after this winter!  Glad you're back on Val!

Kristinka - My ps is the underwire king - had me in an underwire bra - extremely tight, too - as soon as my drains came out after my exchange.  If you want more info, feel free to pm me about it so I won't bore everyone with my explanation one more time.....  I will say that his explanation makes a lot of sense.....and the results are excellent....

Katey - Yes, that much snow is absolutely unheard of around here!  We've lived here for 12 years, and get maybe one snowfall each year - only an inch or so - just enough for folks to get excited and declare a school snow day....   That bad part is that we have so many live oak trees in this area that are not snow-friendly - our neighborhood lost so many limbs - and entire trees  (explains all the power outages) - that it looks like a tornado swept through.....

    Happy nips and exchanges everyone!!!

Good Luck Deborah tomorrow.  I am happy you will be getting the "icing on the cake"!  Good Luck to everyone having surgery this week.

Val,   it sounds like you have been hit hard.  Upstate NY got hit with an icestorm a few years back that made it looked like something out of a horror film.  The ice did the same thing to the trees and power lines as I imagine snow did to yours. I hope things are back to normal soon.

Deborah!  Nips!  Best of luck, dear Breast Whisperer!

Jazzy, Musiclovermom, Kristen -- Woo hoo to you too!!!  These are exciting surgeries, all of them.  Here's to moving forward!

I'm abyssmally behind in my reading here.  I saw something about "feeling" a husband which was interestingWink (Laura).  And then Karen feeling Laura's husband and then.... hee-hee!!!!!!

Must go watch the Bachelor.  Mindless, guilty pleasure despite my feminist disgust.  But I do get to do this.  I did have cancer after all.  Anything goes.Cool

Geena -- damn right you get to do this!  Enjoy it in all it's guilty pleasure wonderfulness.

Val - welcome back!  (And I for one would not be bored by a repeat of the reason for the wireless... since my chemo brain prevents me from remembering it from the first time lol).  I am pretty sure my PS forbids the use of underwires forever!  (Although it's entirely possible I misunderstood).  Something about the fear of the wire poking through the bra material and into the foob, which would not feel it?  Given how I feel the TEs, though, I doubt I would not feel it lol.

Sigh -- can't wait til I get to buy new bras :)

I do so much reading and not much posting that sometimes I feel out of the loop.

You ALL (not y'all!) have made me feel connected and I can not tell you how much I value this site and women for all the wisdom & experiences shared.

Thanks for remembering and wishing me well. I am quite emotional this week with everything going on!

    Thanks for the support!

    Much Love and Big Hugs!

Yippee Squishies! soft implants this week for us Kristen!

Deborah -- LOL -- well at least you got the right week :)  The good wishes stand this week or any week.

Kimberly -- I will live vicariously through you (and you too Kristen) -- I want details on how soft and wonderful the new girls are!

I saw my PS today and got fill #7 -- I'm now up to 660cc's (600 cc capacity TE)... my PS is thinking about 100-120 more cc's (since I guess this size is pretty good and she likes to overfill TEs and put in a smaller implant).  To be honest I have no real idea since I'm going smaller than my god-given size; I fear going too small, I fear going too large -- great, huh?  Anyway I will have two more fills between now and March 22 (spacing them out for maximum comfort).   I'm starting to not care so I must be at the right size LOL.  This week was the first one where I waited two weeks between fills and I have to say that last week I was getting so pain and discomfort free I actually FORGOT I had the TE at one point... imagine that?!  I am remembering tonight, that's for sure.

First, thanks to all the ladies who responded to my worry about exchange surgery. My wheels were turning and it is nice to know it probably won't be so difficult. Also, my best for all those who will be having procedures this week- Whippetmom, Jazzy, Musiclovermom and Kristinka.

BTW, I am a 60's girl. OMG, am I really getting that old. I can also appreciate the 70's as that was my college time.

Take it nice and easy everyone. Chris

I swear this website can be more fun than real life.  I'm finishing my glass of pinot grigio and eating a chocolate (Frango) while checking your updates.  You've become part of my dessert routine!  I so appreciate your sweet wishes - it's like I have a cheering squad behind me.

I didn't get through to the PS about the underwire bras so soon after surgery, so will have to call again tomorrow.  Thanks for your input, Val, Katey, and Lilah.

I LOVED aquanet hairspray - hey, and I saw a very young Elvis Costello at Providence College in 1979  - everyone was whipping their heads up and down to the beat (and then of course the boyfriend I met at the concert later cheated on me with a girl named Allison...)

I am proud to say I was an Elvis Costello groupie.  Seriously.  Followed him around New England with my Joe Jackson-ish boyfriend in the early 80's.

I guess, Kristen, your bf's Aim wasn't True - cheating on you with an "Alison" and all......

The Bachelor was both wonderful and disturbing.

(((Kimberly))) thinking of you.  I remember prior to exchange I was really nervous - not sure why, but I think these emotional ups and downs are the new normal while we're going through all of this.

Thinking of you Deborah, Musiclovermom, and Kristen!

Thank you all for the well wishes!!!  I can hardly wait for my surgery Wed!!!  It can't get here fast enough!!  I'm hoping this will be the end to all of my surgeries...at least for a while!  Doc wants me to stay over night and honestly I am looking forward to the time alone.  My son who just turned 24 yesterday is living with us and his girlfriend just moved in on Sat....my daugher Jenn who is 21 is also living with us...she came home when I was diagnosed to take care of her mommy :-)...and then we have our 14 yr old daughter...I LOVE having all of them, but I kinda want to be by myself and relax on those nice drugs...room service...in room movies...and free internet!!

I will check in when I can.

    HUGS! Jazzy

    Thank You Geena!

Lilah - I will definitely let you know how great - or not great - things turn out! I have had the forgotten about the TE's since I started getting massages after I was completely filled. I am so comfortable now - I even bump into things and bounce off too.

Jazzygem - It's nice how you are looking forward to alone time in the hospital. When I had my BMX I kept calling it my HOTEL ROOM. I was planning and it just kept coming out hotel room in stead of hospital room and then it became a joke with my friends. Enjoy your stay in your hotel room tomorrow night! I loved the magic button I got to press for morphine! No over night for me this week - but I am good with that...

    Deborah good luck tomorrow!

Grackenmom - Monday will be here very fast! Thinking of you also!

Kristen - what more can I say but Yippee Squishy! On the bra issue, it still amazes me the difference in each PS's protocol even among his patients. I have not come across any other patient of my PS that has had the same routine as me. I guess they must individualize treatment for each patient? I know that I have it so much easier than someone who has had rads. I know I will wake up with a bra on but wait 3 weeks until I wear under-wire... I forgot to ask what kind to wear in the mean time... You would have thought with my SHORT list of questions, I would have asked if I had to wear a tight sport bra or loose fitting or just keep the surgical bra on for the 3 weeks...

Lots to do today! I must do one last cleaning of the bathrooms etc this morning since I have plans to  keep me busy tonight and tomorrow! Maybe I will hit the grocery store for good measure too.
