Lilah,
My PS only wanted to wait 2 weeks after the last fill. That might have had something to do with the fact my left one had turned and was trying to run under my arm. She had to do some pocket work at exchange to keep that one where it should be. The exchange was still a breeze. Hope yours is too!

Thank you all for so many well wishes.....
Today is still good...I'm a little bruised and tender where there was some pocket work done but nothing tylenol wont fix
I have peeked on the new boobies but I can tell there's a lot of swelling..so I'm withholding any judgement for a while. My ps and I did agree to not being any larger that a full B....I sure hope he kept his side of the bargain....600 sounds so big to me =o\ Paula maybe you and I should have switched ps

I'm having little bubbly, gurgle sensations in my throat...could this be gas escaping form the implants.....sort of like boob farts "barts"? I can see some puffiness up around my throat...maybe some adema?
Kristen love the new word ruffles instead of ripples!

Rebecca hope your feeling great today.
Fairportlady...hope your doing better.
Susie glad your doing well!
Healing and strength to all,
Laura

Thanks Laura,
Do you have the surgical bra on too? I'm afraid to peep, but I'm curious.

I hate to say this but...
I am on my way to the doctor to check on some necrosis in the flap scar line. The flap skin is fine, the skin above it (radiated) is not. Let's hope he thinks it is nothing (I doubt it), or that it is something he can fix and it works...I may write a book...JUDY

Oh Judy, no way, are you serious? I am sooooo sorry, this is ridiculous! There are no words... I just hope that it is nothing or that he can fix it! Please keep us posted!

Lilah--Believe it or not, I never wore an underwire bra in my life before bc. Somehow, I just had the thought fixed in my head that they couldn't possibly be comfortable, since they have wires in them! But about a month ago, I went to Victoria's Secret and the fitter (not a teenager, LOL!) found two underwire styles for me that display the girls beautifully, and actually fit well. They will be great anytime I really want to show off!
Most of the time I wear no bra; I just wear one if I feel my outfit requires it. The freedom is great! And you will love being Yippee Squishy!Diane

Judy: I'm so sorry. Please let us all know how you are doing.
Susie: I too have not worn a bra since my mx. It just hurts me too much. Maybe some day though I can look "normal" and not feel like I need to wear big baggy clothes to hide being all lop-sided.

Darn it Judy ... hope it's nothing!

Diane, can I ask, what size implants did you get, or more important I guess, what size bras did you just buy? Just hoping that I'll be able to mostly go braless too, with the occassional bra when I feel the outfit calls for it, that is if these nipples shrink up a little more, or I'll always be wearing a bra, haha! Anyway, thanks!

Diane, nevermind, I just checked out your pictures on the pic forum and you look awesome! Fabulous results! No wonder you go braless! You go girl!

Hi Susie123, I finally looked...I took my shower and the bandages just slipped off. I have a very bad reaction to tapes so my ps did put a very non-binding bra on me to hold gauze over the incision. It doesn't really support or constrict in any way. :) I was going to take a picture but my camera batteries are dead. I'll take a picture later today, with and without bra (+) (+)
I didn't wear a bra throughout my TE time and love being without one.....I hope I will be able to go braless when this is all over with
Judy! I am so sad to hear that you may be having trouble...I am sending piles and piles of prayers your way......you deserve to heal beautifully and comfortably....crossing all fingers and toes.....it's just not fair......
Healing and strength to all,
Laura

Judy, sending my best wishes to you for healthy skin and a healthy outcome!
Re bras - I never wore one with the TEs because it was too uncomfortable. My PS recommends that I wear a nicely fitting bra to make sure the implants stay right where they are. He says that gravity can move them down over time. I do think the bras may be keeping them in place - they haven't moved since the exchange in Feb. An underwire bra that fits well is pretty comfortable, surprise surprise! I understand that each PS has a different protocol, so I wanted to share what my PS told me.
Happy healing to everyone,
Kristen

What page are the good bra styles on? Maybe someone should start a whole new thread about bras, or maybe they did and I don't know, I only check my 4 favorite threads... thanks!

On a different note. I have a question I want to ask here... as there are A LOT of us here on EC.
If someone has High Cholesterol... changes diet and looses the 10pds a doctor wants them to loose ( in three months time) and then re checks the Cholesterol... and it is even a little higher... is this a HORRID thing to hear? My hubby and I seem to have gotten HIT these past two years. We are the oldest siblings in our families and have NO one to ask these things to but a doctor.
Hubby is 43 and in great shape.. eats good... blah. anyway... they want to start him on Cholesterol meds and do a heart scan next week... checking his heart and valves...:(... HE ONLY went in for his yearly check in Feb. and all this comes...:(...
I am scared. There is heart trouble in his mom and dads family..:( I suppose we keep being blessed that he and I are finding these things early, as we are pro-active in our health. I got him to go yearly to his doc for check-ups at age 40.
Anyway... my butt is draggin' over here in EsteppVille and I am scared. Can anyone tell me what they know about these kinds of things?
Love... Laura

Paula: The bra styles are on Page 417....just change the page number in your URL up above your screen. Right now, mine states page=441 and so just change the 441 to 417. This is the easiest way to get back to that page. But Paula, I just posted some recommendations for you to try on your thread on the pictures forum. You can also order from Nordstroms - order several and return those that do not work. Returns are free at Nordstrom..
VAL: Do you have some recommendations for Paula?

Thanks Deborah, I did see that you posted those, but I was just curious to see the others.... I wrote down the ones that you recommended. I am tempted to roder some, but keep thinking that I should wait and be fitted, the only fitting I've ever had done was at Victoria's Secrets and never thought about it before but they always measure with clothes and other bra on, that doesn't seem very efficient to me, because I always wore a push up padded bra! Anyway, any other words of wisdom or advice would be much appreciated, Val?
Laura, I have nothing for you, don't know much about cholesterol but I am sooo sorry that you and your husband are going through this on top of everything else!

Laura - I don't know anything about cholesterol. I hope you and your hubby are able to bring it down. I can't believe it's high even when you're both active. It might be inherited though. My hubby has high blood pressure that he inherited from his family. The things we get from our families - cancer has to be the worst though! My hubby didn't have cancer on his family and then his father was dx with BC in 2008. Scary!!

Oh thank goodness!! I'm home and the doctor said all will be all right. Yesterdaay, I went to a friend of mine who happens to be a PS (not mine because I wanted the freedom to yell at mine without damaging a friendship). I went to him to remove a drain since the cancer center I go to is an hour away. He is the one who saw the necrosis. but he put something on it overnight, and when I uncovered it for the PS at the cancer center, it had changed significantly!!
He is what the doctor said: Even if it were to split open, he would let it heal, since I now have good muscle under the entire expander - it would heal up OK. Well it isn't split open, thank God and although it is very red, it is OK...OK!!! That's what I wnated to hear!! A full schedule of work on Friday, all those women who are waiting for their amekup, or areolas or wnatever, and I don't have to reschedule them...Thank you for all your prayers, no doubt it helped!!
Whew, got past another one. Good luck to all the sisters who are healing and who have surgeries this week..I'm thinking of you too!! JUDY

Ladies - My life is out of control - good things but out of control none-the-less. Please PM me if you have a surgical date coming up. I get notified when I am PM'd so that I can see the date and update our list. Hugs to everyone preparing for surgery and healing. - Jean

Laura - Estepp - I am PM'ing you about cholesterol issues...My DH is one of the healthiest people I know....eats right, exercises 7 days a week....and he has high cholesterol. It's all genetics. He finally had to bite the bullet and go on a statin drug...

Yay Judy!! Thank goodness its going to be ok!
To all the recent surgeries and still upcomeing this week - best to you for everything to go better than perfect!!!!
Laura/estepp - I'm not a cholesterol expert by any means, but I'll pass on experience from my sisters in case it's helpful. Specifically, both my sisters and their husbands started following the Schwarzbein Principle diet a couple of years ago, in response to health issues due for one sis, and to lose weight for the other. Relevant to you, one brother-in-law whose cholesterol had just been diagnosed as high found that it dropped by 40 points just by following this diet over about 6 months. He is in his mid-50's and, like your husband, is very physically active. Not so relevant to cholesterol, but still amazing, is that the one sister who needed to lose weight has lost about 25 lb, w/o feeling deprived or otherwise working at it. The sister who had the perimenopausal health issues has significantly improved. As my sisters describe it, the point is to rebalance what one eats, rather than deprive yourself of calories, and the balance is towards plenty of protein, as much "good" fats as you need, and relatively low carb. Unintuitively, they all added fat and protein foods to their diet (incl plenty of eggs), and by all measures are healthier for it. You can find the books describing it on Amazon or at other bookstores. It kept my bro-in-law from going on cholesterol-lowering drugs, which he really didn't want to do.

Yayy Judy. That is great news.

Yippee, Judy!!!!!! All those prayers of Laura's - and all of us here - worked!!! Good heavens have you been through it!!!
Paula - I'd be most happy to help you with bras, as I seem to have done more research on them than could possibly be imagined! And to think that I could only wear VERY padded ones that I never filled or ones from the little girls' department.....go figure. Remind me again if your ps had an absolute aversion to underwires? Feel free to PM me, too, if you want....
Kitty - praying for you, girl......good news tomorrow!

Judy, thank heavens!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great news!!
Laura, I think the cholesterol stuff is inherited, darn it. HBP also, as I understand it.
Since you guys are both active and healthy, I'm sure they can get it under control.
My husbands' family had sky high cholesterol....he takes 1200 Mg. Omega 3 fish oil caps daily, and he now has perfect BP and cholesterol. At 54, with a family history, too!! He eats crap all the time as well. I won't have fried food in the house, as it runs in my family also, but he sneaks burgers and fries and ice cream whenever he can.
Maybe ask your GP about it. If you were estrogen +, I'd steer clear of it (I was, and my onc said nooooo to it, darn it) but my husband is the fish oil king and is one healthy 54 year old. The GP felt it was the fish oil and it keeps the arteries and the blood mobile and flowing more easily apparently.
Hang in there babe, they'll get it sorted out.
Anyone looking for a comfy bra in a non underwire (my PS said no to that) try VS Angels.
The cups adjust to size differences on each side...it's amazing and comfy too.
xoxoxoxo
Good luck, honey. Will pray for you both1!!
