Deb, you JUST had your exchange, right? And already they're really, really low? It sure sounds like something is going on there. Also with the breadloafing. Can you get back to see your PS on Monday?

Deborah,  I am so sorry that you are not happy at this time.....I feel bad going on and on about my little decision and you helping me so much not knowing what you were feeling today....I feel like Sheila, something seems to be going on if they are riding low.....Mine did not change much at all.....((((hugs)))) to you.  Call your PS on Monday.....At least you can have a laugh with DH....

Linda:  Are you kidding?  Helping you and helping anyone who has an issue here is like THERAPY for me.  It is like how as an interior designer I can immediately know what to do with the design of someone's living room, but I cannot make a decision, to save my life, about my own.  So I will always be so glad you ask for my opinion.  It makes me happy. Wink

Sheila:  You are right.  I don't know if I am just measuring this by my expanders, which were so perky..perhaps you can go to the picture's forum tomorrow to give me your opinion.

Sandy:  Thank you...you were right, the expanders were 12.4 b/c of the over expansion...I am going to try to post some pictures tomorrow and if I cannot figure it out, could I just email them to you and have you post them for me?  I'll let you know tomorrow.

You guys....WHO could we discuss these things with, if not with each other?  I mean, really?   Who else would "get it"?  I have some wonderful friends but I cannot discuss this with them.  I can discuss it with my sister, as she is on these forums, but she is four months behind me in her BLM/recon journey.  I have never been so preoccupied with my breasts in my entire life - not until I had breast cancer.  I think that this is such a safe haven for us - to emote about things that the outside world does not understand.  Thank you for listening to me tonight.  My DH wants me to watch a movie with him, so I'll sign off and let you know how the girls are doing tomorrow.

Lorraine:  I know what you experienced after your exchange.   My right foob is barting.

Hi ladies! just got home from work and have been trying to keep up with everyone, wow this thread is fantastic!! but I am trying to catch up!!  I just wanted to say Deborah, I am so sorry that you are not having a great time with your foobies, I am so sorry, but I burst out laughing with the mental picture of you in your sports bra backwards, oh my goodness you are so funny!! and your hubby, he sounds like mine!! you should maybe take up writing sitcoms or something because I totally saw the whole scene in my head LOL!! My foob quit farting/squishing about a week after my exchange, thank goodness!! I don't know if I am happy with them to be perfectly honest, and this is the only place I can be perfectly honest, so thank you all!! my right one has dropped and fluffed, not the friggin left one though!! WTF!!! ok, so I MAY be a little foob obsessed at the moment, and I may be the only one who can notice the difference, but the right one now looks bigger than the left, so flippin annoyed!! I do have an appt with the PS on April 2nd so I am going to see what other weird and wonderful things happen to them up until then, and then figure it out when I go, who knows, by then one could be on my back! Its kind of funny (not!) when I get up in the morning I gingerly take off my surgical bra to take a shower and keep my eyes closed, and open them one at a time, slowly, just in case the foobies aren't where they were the night before, jeez!! the stress!!! oh well, I have decided that as long as I don't have cancer I am not going to worry about it too much, I feel so blessed to have all of you to "listen"! I do have some photos of the foobies, but I am so scared to show them, what do you think?

    big hugs!!!!

Deborah, you are so right.  It helps me to help others....seems like I have been preoccupied with myself the last fews days since I am trying to make this decision before my PS office calls to come back in.

I will be checking tomorrow to see if you post some pics.

As you requested I posted some side view pics of my radiated boob.

I am sad because you are not happy.  :-(

Deb, sorry you're not happier.  Wanting expanders back is a strong statement about how miserable you are right now.

Lorraine, I hear you on the foob obsessed.  We watched TV last night, and I found myself commenting on everyone's breasts, "oh I want to be bigger then that,  she's got good symmetry...."  My husband said, "dear you're obsessed with breasts right now....well I guess there is one in every relationship."

Deb, do you have the same user name on the photo site? I couldn't find you by skimming through the reconstruction board there. I haven't been on that site too much so maybe just don't know what I'm looking for. :)

Deborah - I am so very sorry that you are not liking what you are seeing right now. But I have to say lady, you have such a cute way of telling your story that you had me laughing. You and your dh are a WONDERFUL team!!!!

Lorraine and Linda - I think you both look wonderful, but I know it is easier for someone else to say. It is your body and you see it every day.

Kmmd - That's cute, I smiled about your dh's comment. My dh thinks I am a bit crazy, bur fortunately he loves me anyhow.

I have to say. I am okay w/ my TEs. They are hard and they are under my arms, but they look great in clothes. Sometimes I wonder if I should just keep them?!? :) NOT!

    Take care. - Jean

Hi dears:  Just checkin in with you guys, NO path yet, i hope that's good news.  I have my 2 week post op on wednesday, maybe then.  Just got hit yesterday with a friggin UTI, oh more fun.

Honestly, the timing of these things!

I just wanted to say that Deb., I was so horribly disappointed after my exchange.  Things looked quite bizarre for a good three months, then suddenly, it fell into the pocket made for it, and looked boobish.  And it got better in tiny bits, every day after that.  You really have to not even look at it, and don't worry about it, for at least two months, unless something is dramatically "off"...keep a good dialogue up with your PS's office, and yes, you are entitled to many many after visits to make sure all is proceeding well..........you paid for these, they should make you happy!

I still have more revision work to get done on the girl, but say to yourself "work in progress", etc.

Good for you for laughing, how any of us could do this without it, I can't imagine.

    love to all

PinkyLee - I agree.  I'd like to look good naked too.  Is that an unrealistic expectation?

Deborah - sorry that you are not happy with your implants.  I can feel for you as I just had my second revision.

Lorraine - One of my implants looked bigger thatn the other one as well.  The PS talked about putter a smaller implant in one side; however, on the last revision he said when he added the Alloderm the implants looked the same size, so he did not exchange for the smaller implant.  I haven't been able to see the results as yet, due to the compression dressing.  Tuesday is my unveling day.

Karen:  Don't risk it.  I was reading a post by someone who had a cold and still had her procedure and really got sick!  You want a strong immune system for surgery and you have already had problems.  So wait until you are healthy.  I know you are just so upset about this and it is MADDENING....to be sure!  But give this reinsertion every chance to succeed!  Right?   However, that said, perhaps by Tuesday you will be feeling much better and the head cold will have resolved.  Don't cancel until Tuesday....

I'm sure others here will have some suggestions.

Lorraine - That is too hilarious - not wanting to look at your breasts for fear they have migrated somewhere else on your body!  I know exactly how you are feeling!

This is the strangest experience.  I feel as though I have two big, doughy aliens attached to my chest.  I am wearing a fairly lightweight surgical bra - not much of a support - and I hate the feeling, after having gone braless and "supportless" throughout the expander experience.  But I am wondering if my "support" or surgical garment is support enough.  I need something to LIFT these puppies up - something to mould them and keep them from dropping so much.  I know some of you have had support bras were were like binders - very tight and compressing.  It seems to be that is what I would want....

I'll broach this with my PS on Wednesday.

Thank you everyone for your concern and for responding....I was feeling Cry yesterday but feeling Smile today because of your support and because I know it will all work out!!!

KinAZ- I know you want to have this surgery but if you are sick and you get anesthesia you could win up with breathing problems. Unless you are allot better tomorrow you should call your doctor.

Lorraine-As I told you my right side is softer and I think it is fluffing quicker than the left. Just keep wearing your bra 24/7 and I bet the left one will catch up. I am sure boobs don't always drop at the same time. It worries me too I don't want any more surgeries for a long, long time

Deborah --I looked at your pics and think they look really natural.  The left one looks only a slight bit droopier in one picture, but the other pictures look even.  Is it the way you are standing or holding your arms?
Nice flat tummy! I am sure you will look great in a bathing suit.  Watch out Vegas!

Deborah - I think they look great!! Yes, one is slightly lower than the other, but it is so soon after surgery. I think they will both settle at their own speed. I think the size looks good on you. You are beautiful! And you will look great this summer!

After the comments from the ladies right after exchange, and those that have had their implants for a while, I am beginning to think that it is the change. We get used to TE's and the implants look so different. But then, I am still a few weeks from my exchange. So I don't really know that for sure.

As for the divot, I have one too. And I don't know what to say about that. Perhaps that will need some fill in down the line?? I hope not, but can't help you there. Is it noticable when you wear a bra and pull up your foobs?

Best wishes. I think things will look better to you over time. You have been through a lot in a few months! I think you look great and I think you are great!

    Take care. - Jean

Lisa - I can't wait to see what you think about the gummies.  I think that by the time I get my TE removed my arm will have a permanent curve from going around it.  Kind of like a chimpanzee look.  LOL

Jean- Sad to hear that you are having so much trouble with your ex-business partner.  Why can't we all just win the lottery and be left to deal with the rest of this stuff in financial peace and harmony....I'm such a dreamer....I'm glad you connected with your BCO sisters. I am so disappointed that you didn't Show and Tell!  I haven't found anyone locally that is dealing with exactly the same issues I have.  Mind you, I haven't really looked to hard either as I feel that I get the support I need right here. I like that I can come on when I am needing to chat and there is always someone that is quick to reply back.  LOVE THIS SPOT!!!!

Marilyn - I don't have any advice for you as I'm still in the waiting mode and my PS seems to feel that he will give me what is best without any input from me.  (I am taking Sandy's advice and telling him what she recommended though...we'll see how that goes!) I am hoping it all goes well for you this time around and urge you to stick up for yourself and get what makes you feel good.  Lots of stuff I have been reading advises you to take an advocate with you, this could be a partner, really good friend or family member just to make sure you understand what you are being told and that you get to say what you want to tell the PS.  Sometimes I know that when I initially hear something that is unsettling I just go into "La La La" mode and sometimes I can't focus on what I need to do or say.

Robin- glad you are feeling better!!  One foot in front of the other....feels like that has been my mantra this winter.

Goddess - you are just too funny!!!  Though Marme is really cute too. I just spent a few hours with my darling little granddaughter and got my "Damma fix".  (She can't pronounce her G's yet)

Karen - I agree that you should wait as horrific as I know that sounds.  It does seem to take a bit more out of you than you would think and I think you should be feeling good going into it.  Also, you want your lungs to be clear going into any kind of surgery.  I can only imagine how disappointed you are. ((((((((((((((((Karen)))))))))))))))))

Deborah - I just checked out your pictures and I just can't agree more with the other girls that you look so very natural. They do droop a bit but look very age appropriate.  That is the best way to describe the look to me anyway.  The expanders looked very perky and maybe that is why you think these new girls look droopy, but really I think they look wonderful.  I think one does look a bit lower but HONESTLY...they look pretty darn real except for the steristrips! LOL Each person perceives herself differently and I know that I am totally obsessed with the fact that my foob is higher than my old girl but no one else seems to notice.  I mention it to anybody and everybody who seems to care and they all agree that it is not noticeable unless you really are looking for it.  We are all going to be crazy after this experience that is for sure.  A new mental illness - Compulsive Rightly Aligned Breast Syndrome or CRABS for short!!!  That'll give our kids something to talk about...My mom has CRABS!!

    Whippetmom,

I too have this rather soft surgical bra on.  I can't really tell if the new "foobs" are even at this point.  I'm really a baby when it comes to blood, etc., so I just change the dressings gingerly one side at a time and quickly re-velcro the middle of the surgibra.  Actually, I think I'm too scared to take the whole thing off and see what's what.

I do see my PS tomorrow, which will be 6 days post exchange and lift/implant, and will also ask him if I can start wearing my own support bra.  I think that would be alot more comfortable anyway; this surgibra goes up almost to my armpits and is really starting to irritate the skin there.  The sports bra seems like it would really cup these new foobs a lot better, and be more comfortable to boot.  And boy, I can' wait to get this drain out.  I don't understand why I seem to be one of the only ones to get a drain with the exchange surgery!

P.S.  When were you guys allowed to drive after the exchange?  I know I really can't with the drain in, but day by day, my arms seems to be getting a bit stronger and I'm itching to get out of this house!!!!  I'm driving my husband and kids crazy!!!!

digger - I drove with two drains when I had my BLM in November.  I had the last two drains for two weeks and so I had to get out of the house.  My PS said I could drive as long as I was not taking narcotic analgesics - Vicodin.  I agree with you about a sports bra or something which would "cup" the foobs better.  I do not feel like this surgi-bra is doing anything for support.

WAHHHHH....I don't want "age appropriate" foobs....Yvonne - that was too funny!  My neighbor/friend came over yesterday to check out the girls.  She has had breast augmentation previously - hers are rather wide and with very little projection.  This is how she wanted them to look.  She looked at my breasts and said, "well, you wouldn't want perky high breasts anyway" and I said, "Yes I WOULD!"  That is what bothers me about these foobs - they are so MATRONLY.  I think that my angst is that they are larger than I had thought.  I went into the OR thinking I was getting 475's and woke up with 550's.

When I lift my breasts I have no cleavage.  It is as if all of the weight is in the bottom of my breasts and I have no upper pole pocket.  It is very strange.  For instance, you see the cleavage Sandy and Linda get with their implants - mine will not do that because the implants start sliding into the cleavage area.

Lisasayers, "Goddess" instead of Grandma -  I love it.  Glad you're happy with your new girls - I love mine too!

The sports bra/surgical bra discussion seems to echo my PS's instructions - nice fitting sports bra PLUS I am wrapped underneath to support the pocket revision work underneath.  He tells me it is a full 6 weeks before I will be completely healed and to wear a bra 24/7.  I may be released to stop wrapping on top of the bra, but he hasn't yet...  The more support the better for the first month to six weeks post-exchange.  Treat them like glass.

Deborah - You are SO good at telling stories!  I loved you backward bra "fix."  I haven't seen your photos yet and intend to do so after this.  I was a little worried about mine being low, too, but I like them that way.  At 53, they seem "right" for me.  But I am sad that you aren't happy with your exchange and will be praying you get the result you want.  I must admit, you have my curiosity piqued!  I need to see this cleavage problem you are describing...  by the way, I don't really have cleavage unless I put on an bra.  Mine have to be squeezed together for cleavage to happen.

    Karen, Sending out prayers that your cold will go away and you can get that TE re-inserted and get on with this process.  In 5 years, it will be a distant memory, but I know right now it's a pain in the boob for you.  {{{{hug}}}

Digger - hope you like what you see when you peek under those bandages!  : )   My PS said no driving for at least a week, and after my little foob explosion (hematoma last week) I am still not driving except when no one is around to take me to work.

psalmist - No, I saw your photos and you definitely have upper pole fullness.  When you see my photos, you will see what I mean.  Would you mind describing how and why he did pocket revision work in the crease beneath your breast?  Was it to lift the pocket?

And I am more convinced now than ever that I should be wearing a much more supportive bra.  This thing is useless.  I am off to Target right now for a sports bra.  The one I am using to wear backwards does not have separate cups - it is just a bandeau type sports top.  Any recommendations on a type which has the most support which I could buy at Target?

You guys, I feel like I am hogging the forum here...thank you so much....hopefully all of my ranting and raving and looney questions will help someone else down the road....

Deborah-- we're here for you, sister.  Rant and rave all you want!  We ALL need to some days, don't we??  Can't think of a supportive bra at Target. Is there a Kohl's near you? They have great supportive Champion bras with separate cups that have good compression, as well as Nike compression bras.  Next time I'm wearing them 24/7 for 8 weeks.

And Deborah--I got the 'matronly' boobs just like you did. The WIDE BODY models that look too wide for my body, and too low in the upper pole. Ah yes, and the divet.  We must have got matching sets.  Just like ordering at the restaurant!  Surprised

Yvonne--thanks for the advice. I totally agree with the "ADVOCATE" idea. I bring my husband to each appt. Sometimes I go to 'LaLa Land" too, especially when the PS says things like: you have 3 choices-- 1) remove the implant (REMOVE THE IMPLANT??? THAT's an ugly choice)  2)  go bigger!  BIGGER---I'm already WIDER THAN A SEMI-TRUCK!!!  3)  by this point my brain just kept having flashbacks to the first two ugly choices!!!  Who can listen at that point??

My PS thought my 'advocate' was hostile because he agreed with me that we were there to schedule a surgery to FIX the problems, not agree that it was "GOOD ENOUGH".  So sensitive!!

Good Luck Anniealso on your path results.  I'm praying for you!

Marilyn - Yes, we have Kohls!  LOL!  My DH and I laugh all of the time about the "sales" Kohls is having....we open the paper...."Oh look honey, what a surprise, Kohl's is having a SALE"!   DH is going with me.  He wants to watch me try on sports bras.  I don't know about that.  I'm trying to get him to leave me alone!  That testosterone is weird S---!

So we are off to Kohl's for a couple of Champion sports bras!  I'm so glad I checked the computer before leaving....thanks Marilyn....

Laura - I KNOW!!!  Matronly - can you believe it?

I also wonder where I can buy some fake paste on nipples so that I can get a better idea of how low slung these hooters really are.  Where do you get things like that?  Sandy??? LOL!!  Sandy would know....

I am due for exchange April 14 and have been reading here, looking online at the Inamed silicone implants and trying to understand what I may want before my last talk with the PS.

Does high profile mean less wide and more out front? Sorry to throw my questions in the middle of your conversation.....but y'all seem like the best source!

How do you get to the pictures of those who have had the exchange?
