Hi all...I've been on a 'break' for a bit but had to fill you all in who remember my bitching about size.  I went to Nordstrom's to get fitted (they were amazing) and ........32 D.  I almost cried right then and there.  I know it's just a letter and that it doesn't really mean anything, but damn.  Why can't I be an A?  My ps will get an earful when I see him again, you know, in the spring.

geewhiz:  This is really great news and promising indeed for rads patients undergoing reconstruction.  Thank you for sharing...

mom3band1g: I am sorry you are so unhappy about your size.  Why do you need to wait until "spring" - although I guess it is less than two months away.

whippetmom- just because that's when my next scheduled appt is.  I could get in earlier but I really don't want to.  Tired of Dr's so I'll just wait.  When I hear D I think Dolly Parton  and I know I don't look THAT big!

mom3band sorry you are unhappy with your results.  I wouldn't get too caught up in the numbers as the implants are really wide compared to nautral breasts and it's impossible to get an A out of an implant.  I was a small B and I am now a D yet in clothing I look slightly larger then I was before and a far cry from Dolly Parton.  The only time I ever look like I have nice breasts is if I wear a padded, push up bra--same as before surgery but I get a bit more cleavage now.  Right after surgery I was a DD but after all of the swelling I am a D.  Just a number.  Gentle hugs.

mbj- thanks.  I kept telling myself that this D was not a real D...it's a head thing!  I have always had body issues and this just doesn't help.  My new mantra..."it's just a letter, it's just a letter"! Ugh.  I'm done with all of this.  I just want to look normal and I'm pissed that I need a revision (HUGE ripples on prophy side).  Immediate reconstruction is the biggest oxymoron of all!

Hi Ladies - Smile Had appt. yesterday, no go on the fill for my T/E, the dang port turned itself around and after poking and probing he "just couldn't find it", OUCH...soooo, no fill until March 18th when I have fat grafting and abs redone. (mesh insert for left side) Has anyone had this done and what time frame are we looking at for re-covery and actual return to good physical activity? I've researched and it's about a 6 week lay up, but I'm sure it depends on each individual and how well they bounce back from surgeries and such.

Looking forward to the weekend! :-) Stay warm everyone and gentle hugs (((hugs)))

Brenda -- waaaaaaaaaahoooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  So happy for you :)

Stephanie -- glad the tea helped!  Sorry I have no advice about that surgery -- I have never heard of it!  I hope it goes well :)

Mom3 -- it truly is just a number.  Aside from the ripples, do you like how you look and how you feel?  You should not worry about numbers at all... they are irrelavant.  LOL on oxymoron -- you said it!

mom3band:  Sorry you have to go in for revisions.   I have always had body issues but I have come to love and accept my new body and it hasn't been easy--it's a process and hopefully your will soon be on the other side of this!

So I had my exchange surgery yesterday morning and all went well.

Except it must have been "training" day at the hospital - student iv nurse could not find a vein and  student anesthesiologist put in my breathing tube.  So I have some collateral damage from the experience - nothing major just lots of bruising from 6 attempts on the right arm and a really sore throat.

The anesthesiologist ended up using my left hand for a shallow low fluid iv.  This is the side I had nodes removed - but there is no bruising or any sign of edema.  I guess they can use the side with nodes removed in a pinch and if the iv is not staying in long?

The PS used the 560cc implant on my mast side and lifted and reduced my native side.  The only pain I feel is from the drain - I came home with just 1 on the implant side.

Also I've got a bit of pain from where he did some lipo on my "soft tissue" around the implant.

I took some demeral last night but it was making me feel sick so I'm just going with 3 Tylenol Extra Strengths and it's working for me.  I had a pretty good night's sleep even though I had to stay on my back.

I saw the PS this morning for a quick follow up and it looks great!  I go back on Monday to have the drain removed and then I see him again on Wed for another check up.

I have to say that I am feeling much better after this surgery than I did after my TE surgery!  I'm trying not to overdo it and my hubby has bought me some trashy magazines to keep me busy and on the couch today.

Well I'm off to the couch to rest now - have a great day ladies!

Wow Marie your doctor is really folowing up after your surgery! I had my surgery Monday and do not have to see my PS until next Thursday, February 10! That's 10 days. She told me to call her if there are any problems but so far knock on wood there are not. So glad your surgery went well. :)

Marie -- wahoo!  I also only had drain on implant side.  Take it easy... and can't wait to hear about the results.  As Deborah said yes that is a lot of work but so glad to hear you're feeling ok.

Jkz -- hope you are feeling better every day as well!

jkz - my PS sees everyone the day after surgery and then again a few days later to remove the drain.

He is away on Monday so his nurse is taking out my drain but he insisted on seeing me on Wed to check on me himself.

Marie I didnt have wny drains. I'm quite happy from what I see right now but I know there is going to be a lot of change in the next few months. I still think my right one is a bit lower which is aggravating. Hopefully the left falls and they even out. I really am not up for another surgery but will do it if I have too. Or better yet maybe when its time for nipples she can make any necessary revisions. We shall see. I plan to post some pics next week or so.

Jennifer:  I am happy that you are so much more comfortable with the size.  Is it that one implant is riding up high - upper pole fullness?  Did you post photos yet?

Woohoo, Brenda.  The best words you can hear after a flap surgery is "It's nice and pink."  I was in a teaching Cancer Center for my Lat D so I had a constant stream of interns, residents, doctors, nurses who came in and poked by flap, gently of course.  One of them explained that if they poke it w/ a finger it turns white inititally.  What they want to see is the pink color return quickly which means adequate blood flow.

I was in the hospital for 3 nights and was so ready to go home at that point.  The drains are a pain for sure so take it easy and take your pain meds.  Sleep, eat well, and become one with your couch/recliner.  At night, two pillows under your head and upper torso really helps with pain and sleeping.  Heal well, my friend.  deekaay.

lol, deekay.  To an ordinary person, a flap that's "alive" makes you think "yikes!" but you and I know better.

    Thanks once again, dear friends.
