Can we have a forum for "older" people with bc?

Sandy, That was some description - you should be a theater critic.
Maverick, I remember having strange pains that would wake me up. Someone on one of the forums told me to try Turmeric for joint pain. It does seem to help me.
MC, Tippy might be in the dog house after that.

Expected to snow off and on all day, with a total of two inches. But the ground is too warm. That will be taken care of within this week.

We had our first freeze overnight. Woke up to 29 degrees. It’s expected to warm up to the mid30s and we may see some snow flurries this afternoon. Yikes!
Had a nice visit with our DD and granddaughter yesterday. The baby is 10 weeks and much more awake, smiling and looking around. I need to start doing more upper body workouts. Pushing the baby carriage has got me using the heating pad on my lower and upper back today. And my pecs are sore. Good thing I have the fascia massage this afternoon.
Chisandy - theater sounds fun. The university has a summer programs. They use drama students and usually have some NY talent that come in as well. This summer they will be offering Jersey Boys, Hello Dolly and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. We may try to see some of the shows depending on our vacation schedule.
Maversmom - sorry you’re having pain that wakes you at night. I sometimes get leg cramps. Figure it’s anastrozole. Hope you feel better.
McBaker - sorry Tippy is misbehaving. I hope his disposition improves.
Illinois- hope DH is feeling better.
I hope everyone is doing well. Have a wonderful Tuesday.

Coming to appreciate your worth can, in some cases, dramatically improve your circumstances by changing the choices you make and the actions you take. And as you begin to treat yourself with more respect, other people begin to do the same, since we subconsciously "train" others how to treat us through messages we send through body language, tone of voice, and other subtle cues and behaviors. Discovering your innate worth and living from that place allows you to make more constructive choices--to choose the higher roads of life.

We left Bartlesville by 9, drove to Pawhuska for my shopping foray at Pioneer Woman Mercantile. Cute little area, downtown getting ready for Christmas, the tree was going up and stores getting decorated. I grabbed some things for me and some for gifts. Hit the road to Sherman, TX in gray skies.
Well I drove through rain, then a mix of rain & snow, then a full blown heavy duty snow storm. Not a fun drive. Before we left Oklahoma we topped off the gas tank at $2.99 a gallon. As we crossed into Texas it was $2.82! Lowest we’ve seen.
Our next stop was YaHoo bakery. We’ve stopped every time we come through. My stepson went to Austin college in Sherman so we discovered this gem years ago. Long story short they didn’t have much available on the shelf, and worse - their freezer broke that day. Many frozen items were thawed and they’d throw them out because they can’t refreeze for sale. We ended up with cookies, a Coca Cola cake, fruit cake, lemon cake, limoncello cake, and a pecan wagon wheel, all for $45. You can google them, they do an online business too. Stepsons family got all but 3 cakes, vacuum sealed for Florida.
Cold cold cold is our predictions for the week. One day in the 50’s. I hope the snows aren’t bad up north. I know driving yesterday my thought was if I were home I’d have just stayed in. Stay in & stay safe ladies!

Rained sometime during the night and very lt. rain was still falling when I got up this a.m. Not sure but we could have some snow out of it today. That would likely be okay since it wasn't cold enough to freeze the rain. It is yucky gray and as most here know it doesn't take me long to get some weather depression.
We seemed to have done fine with the trip to Marion for Dh. The minute he used the new medicated eye drops, he said he could see perfectly and even the floaters were gone. They later showed back up, but it wasn't so bothersome for him. He was due to go back tomorrow for a re-check. I was dreading it but would have made the drive. Turns out when Dh looked, he has his surgery on Wed. for the cancer on his head. I feel a bit of relief to tell the truth. There are times when we have little choice but to go to Marion but taking two or three trips in one week is costly in gas as well as time. It has (but I did okay yesterday) been difficult to keep to my medication schedule when we are away three or four hours or more.
So, a couple of bills to pay today, and surgery tomorrow for Dh. and my hair appt. on Thurs. Dh says he likes my hair better short. I'll have to do a much shorter do and see if I still like it too. My hair is this and fine and I really don't manage well w/o the body from perms. Dying would also create more fullness but knock on every piece of wood in this house -- my hair color hasn't changed much. My mother started turning gray in her 50's. My dad still had mostly br4n hair when he passed at 83. It seems I am taking after dad and that is okay with me. Not so much for anything else but the fact that I'd likely feel like I had to help the gray with some hair dye if I did have it -- so I'll stick with the perms for now.
That was some critique, Sandy. I've only seen (when it first opened) one stage play. 1776 and I enjoyed it immensely but have not seen any others. I felt what I saw was done well, but then it had just opened a few months before and I think the burden was higher to present it close to the original.
Hoping for all of us not to stay gray too long and for Tippy to get over his snit. We have had an errant cat and meds from the Vet that have as yet not cured the behavior. Fortunately for us the cat only does #2 right by the box. A big help to us along with the fact that because we have a wooden floor, we put a nice sized piece of clear plexiglass to go underneath the box. Also have plexiglass on both sides of the box -- so if things don't change, we can live with it though we hope to get the cat using the box again.

Sandy, I would have walked out of that musical! You are great at reviewing and I second the motion that you should be a critic! You are great with your descriptions; I could absolutely picture it in my head! I just wish they had done a magnificent job, that "picture" would have been so much more enjoyable!
My parents very dear friend was an actor on Broadway back in the 1960's/70's. He was actually in the TV version of Peter Pan with Mary Martin. He played none other than Hannah, the dog, and the crocodile! His Broadway roles were human in nature, one of his last was in Promises, Promises.
My sister was Maid Marian in her high school performance of Camelot and the entire performance was wonderful. That was also, back in the 60's.
McBaker, when I had chemo my hair came back in dark and curly. It was the softest, baby like hair. Of course that was 20 years ago, I am afraid of what it would look like if that happened today. I thank God for my hairdresser and she is more important to me than my doctors! Well, lets just say, I would cancel a doctor appt before I would cancel a hair appt! I wouldn't be gray, but an absolutely horrible mix of washed out black/dark brown and white! I see some women, especially friends post pandemic, who let their dyed hair grow out and now have beautiful white or grey hair. If that is how my hair would look, I would stop coloring it immediately, but it isn't. I will see my hairdresser next Wed for cut and color.
It seems way too early for snow! Although maybe not, "over the river and through the woods, to grandmother's house we go....."
Last night I caved and took Nyquil before bed since it usually knocks me out completely. I still woke up with knee pain. I guess I just need to focus on being able to get back to sleep when that happens because I don't think anything will stop it. I will look up Tumeric and maybe give it a try. I made an appointment with the NP at my PCP's office, just to go over some issues before I go back to work again. I don't want to take time off from work for any doctor appointments unrelated to my cancer or reconstruction.

They are here removing 3 of the 4 trees slated to be removed. The one tulip poplar was actually 140 feet high according to the crane operator. They have taken down both tulip poplars and are currently working on the large ash. The crane is huge and they are lifting sections of the trees over the house. The guy doing the cutting rides the crane ball to the top of the trees which would scare the living daylights out of me. I am height respectful. The last ash is too far for the crane to reach since it is 150 feet from the driveway, so they will return to take it down manually later. It is predicted to rain around 3 pm so I think they are calculating that in both crane and log removals for today. The poplars trunks showed no sign of rot on removal but the height and proximity to the house were our rationale for removal. They left the trunk (it had been a double with removal of one side a few years back) stump about 4 feet off the ground. It is still doubled and blocks a site line to our back neighbor so I have no issue with them not taking it to the ground. The other was taken to the ground. It is gray, overcast and in the low 40's but damp so it feels colder.
Will miss the trees because they were ones the nuthatches would run up and down to hide birdseed under the bark. The other trees are not in my site line from the eat in area window. It will seem strange to have this huge change in the vista from this window now and in the summer. Not sure how this will impact the shade in the yard but do feel the 2 dogwoods will benefit from more sunlight. One of the sassafras has also died so they will take that as well. It is small and they seem to group when they grow. Another has also died but it is further back in the woods and not on our property. It is not large so if it falls, it won't do any damage.
DH took Regan to the vet to get her chip read so we can apply for her license. She will attend first obedience class tomorrow night so we will see how she does. She is easily distracted so I am hoping he can assist us with getting her to focus.
Mavericksmom: I find that my osteoarthritis flares up with changes in the weather especially the first cold spell. I take turmeric and magnesium recommended by my pain medicine physician for joint pain and it does seem to help. If I overdo it, I will have pain at night on those occasions, so I do know my limit. So I have learned to vacuum over several days rather than doing it in one.
Cindyny: I am enjoying reading about your trip to Texas and your planned stops. It sounds like fun except for the weather related issues.
MC: Sorry to hear Tippy is having an issue and hope you can find the source. It is distressing when they have accidents.
Jackie: sorry to hear about DH's eye issues and your having to take him back and forth for visits. Sometimes those visits just seem to take so much out of a day and the week.
Chisandy: I don't think I would like that version of Camelot at all and I really don't understand why period pieces such as this need to be modernized. I have only walked out of a play once and it was a Roald Dahl play. I felt it was an insult to my intelligence and if it had not been part of our subscription to the Walnut Street theater, I would have asked for my money back. I would have left this one but did enjoy your review.
Hope everyone has a good day.

If my grays came in silky & white, I would stop dyeing my hair in a heartbeat. So envious of Emmylou Harris' (and our own keywestfan Judy's) gorgeous naturally-platinum 'dos. But right now, the shade of blonde I had till age 8 matches my complexion far better than the fine but frizz-prone dark brown hair I had when the wiry grays began to emerge in my 20s.
The plumbers are done installing our basement flood-control system--ahead of schedule and $4K under budget! Now they're backfilling the pit and putting the covers back on it.
After I connect with my Imerman Angels mentee and pick up my Hooked on Fish order today, will brave the weather and tank up at Costco in Niles--still, AFAIK, under $4/gal. Also plan to pick up some taramosalata and int'l produce at Fresh Farms, as well as whatever I can't find at Mariano's or Whole Foods. I could stop in at the S. Loop Costco near UIC after tomorrow's ocular-onc checkup/scans, but Niles' Costco is usually at least a dime a gallon cheaper due to no Chicago city tax. I wouldn't be using enough gas driving to & from Niles (6 mi. ea. way) to cancel out the price differential. (Although, if I waited till tomorrow to gas up I might be able to hit Middle East Market in Andersonville en route home...assuming I could find street-parking. I usually prefer to get home and stay home after a dilated eye-exam until my pupils have normalized). If all goes well tomorrow (and if my vision has changed enough since last fall), will set up a refraction at Warby Parker for next week.

This is the pre-chemo me. Those curls are natural. Just wash and air-dry. I would have to wash every three days to maintain them. I have a lot more wrinkles nowadays.
0 -
Mary, if they are the wrinkles around your mouth and eyes, I say they are from doing a lot of Hardy Laughing. You do appear a bit grayer, but in the picture, it looks rather nice. I would not mind gray hair necessarily. I'm a pretty plain Jane though and for that reason I'd have to dye the gray and hope the shade ended up with enough of a 'natural' look.
Although it doesn't affect me in many ways, I'm definitely not a 'looker' and have always tried to find ways to compensate. I will see if I can find a picture or so and see if I'm able to post it here.
By the way, Mary. Your pre-chemo picture is vry, very nice.

It was fun. I forgot to add photos.

Great pictures. They look to almost like the several antique stores that we travel through in Benton. They are all located in a round-about. the stores look very inviting and I got a good giggle going for the words down on the bottom of the Mercantile window.
Glad you are enjoying so much. I don't travel, though sometimes I wish I could. Too many rescue animals to have someone else look after. That means when one of you travel, I look forward to your trips and pictures.. Can almost pretend I'm there too.

Such an active thread right now. Thank you all for sharing your interesting lives and travels.
Shakespeare Theater here in DC does the current day versions of the classics but very professionally. Sandy your description does sound like a disaster. And Camelot! A desecration 😊
Mary beautiful pictures. Sorry Tippy is acting up.

Sandy - Your critique of "Camelot" had me in stitches. Must admit some of the "woke" and modernized productions of theater and adaptations of books these days can be far-fetched.
Fortunately, when I decided to stop coloring to maintain my original auburn color, was able to gracefully transition to my hair's now naturally silvery white. My siblings are all rocking the same color. Glad to have inherited the silvery white from my dear Dad.
Cindy - Sounds like you are having a good time with your travels!

Mary, you were salt-&-pepper gray pre-chemo--but now you're platinum blonde! People pay hundreds to get hair that silky-straight. The chin-length bob suits you nicely.
Costco's gas was $3.97--almost a dollar cheaper than here by the lake, w/in city limits. And I didn't have to pay cash or buy a (useless in lousy weather) car wash to get that price, either. Fresh Farms had some great stuff, although just one small aisle of cleaning & paper products. Loads of Asian & Latino produce, gigantic deli & fresh fish sections, and two kinds of taramosalata (plus the plain carp roe for those who want to "roll their own"). European bakery on-site. Lots of other Middle-Eastern Greek, Balkan, Slavic and Gernan stuff too (even camel milk) . They had a shelf of Euro-Mediterranean sugar-free candies--so I bought sugar-free vanilla halvah, keto dark chocolate covered nut/coconut clusters, and Stevia-sweetened dark chocolate-covered marshmallows (like my old nemesis Nabisco Chocolate Pinwheels--minus the sugar and the cookie, which was always my least favorite part). Reasonably-fresh locally-roasted coffee beans (including 3 varieties of Intelligentsia Black Cat espresso, plus a decaf version). And they no longer require a quarter to free up a shopping cart, the way Aldi & Cermak do. I wisely steered clear of the Polish candies & cookies--but Bob brought some home from a patient.
Bob's struggling to figure out Microsoft Teams, which is what the Advocate system uses for staff meetings rather than Zoom. He suspects they're really trying to weed out older, less tech-savvy docs in private practice in favor of the younger ones who are employed by the hospitals.
We didn't get snow, just chilly rain that didn't freeze when it hit the ground. Dodged that weather bullet--and forecast for the city is for mixed slop at worst, before the sun comes out and the bottom drops out on Thurs. I recall when I first moved here 44 years ago I was advised not to bundle up at the first sign of winter ("you have to let your blood thin out"); but also warned that I might put on "winter fat." Except during the first 2 months of the pandemic lockdown when I was stuck at home doing load after load of laundry, climbing stairs all day, taking massive amounts of recycling out to the alley and washing floors, winter has always been the toughest time for me to control my weight.
"Scanxiety week" starts tomorrow, with my 4x/yr ocular onc appt. and eye scans; Thurs. is my neuro-PT evaluation; Fri, my liver MRI with contrast and chest X-ray; and Monday my melanoma MO appt. If all goes well, I will try to sign up for the Bar Assn.'s MCLE trip to Ireland (Dublin & Kinsale) in April (solo, since Bob has to work). Hoping the hotels don't sell out, and that I can get a Premium Economy flight on Aer Lingus or American. I can't handle coach on transatlantic flights any more; and unless Business Class is paradoxically cheaper (as it was when we went to London in 2019), it isn't really worth it because I end up watching movies instead of sleeping.
We're hosting Thanksgiving at Wildfire--don't feel like cooking. Hope everyone has either had their bivalent booster or had Omicron BA.5 recently enough that it's too soon to be boosted. We've all had our flu shots, though. I signed up for a clinical trial Moderna is running (near my neighborhood!) for an mRNA flu shot--hope I qualify.

Wow, so much, and so great, to read!
ceiac, I never understood the meaning of "woke," even though I looked it up many times! It is awesome that your hair is a beautiful silvery white!
Mary, I agree with chisandy, your hair looks great! I can understand where you are coming from though, your pre-chemo hair was absolutely gorgeous!!!
I don't like modernizing classics unless it is done like Romeo & Juliet in 1996, or when the theme of the story was redone as "West Side Story."
betrayal, glad to hear the trees are gone and that Reagan is going to obedience school. I do miss having a dog.
Looks like we have another dreary, rainy, day. Not especially great for me as I am struggling against feelings of sadness from the effects of my latest mastectomy w/expander. Every time I had breast cancer, I felt the cancer never hurt me, (would have, but thankfully caught early) but the treatments took a toll on me big time! I am not even sure how I will get through the next surgery, but I tell myself not to worry, it is months away and I should feel better by then.
Sandy, please excuse my ignorance for asking but is Bob a doctor? Visiting Ireland is one of the few places I would want to travel to. My DD and SIL traveled extensively prior to having kids. (very smart) One of their trips was to Ireland, France and Santorini, spending a week at each place. PLEASE take and post pictures if you go on the trip to Ireland!!! When I did my genetic testing with Ancestry, I was surprised to see I am 4% Irish! Small as it may be, my daughter was thrilled because she always wanted to be Irish! (Should I tell her she may not have inherited any of my Irish genes? Nah!)
I also feel for you and your upcoming "scanxiety!" I am seeing the NP at my PCP's office on Monday. I have a huge fear of Alzheimer's as my mother had it and I watched her "die" over a span of about 10 years. The worst part is that I have a hard time remembering her in her normal years. The images that are strongest are not ones I want to remember. I also fear brain metastasis. I have had some issues the past year, worsened with this last surgery, and I know I need to tell my doctor or in this case, his very capable NP. Even though I know better, I always feel, if I don't talk about it, there can't be anything there! I would actually feel better having a brain CT and knowing there is nothing there to worry about. Hopefully what I am feeling is just sinus related.

MM, I, too, have looked up the meaning of "woke" more than once and still don't know what it means. It seems to have originated in African American vocabulary and conservatives use it as an accusation.
I have nothing on my schedule today except senior exercise class at 11:30.
Wishing everyone a good Wednesday.

Good morning. It is 69 degrees this morning and a cold front is moving in sometime.
I stopped coloring my hair when I retired. It is white and fine on the top and sides, but thicker and silver on the bottom, back.
0 -
I also stopped coloring my hair when I retired. My hair started to turn light gray in my mid30s, so I started to color my hair when it got to 50/50. Men can get away with having gray or white hair in the workforce, but women were definitely discriminated against. I always had thick hair with lots of body and curl. Since I’ve been taking anastrozole, my hair has thinned and is much straighter. I also got a short bob cut.
Had my first fascia massage yesterday to help with the pain I have around my mastectomies. It was an interesting type of massage and I think it’ll help. I also have some exercises to do. I have another appointment in a couple of weeks.
It’s a gray day here today. Overcast and in the low 40s. We had snow flurries yesterday, no accumulation. Missing our warm weather. I hope everyone is doing well.

Sandy - Good luck with your scans! Trip to Ireland sounds wonderful - hope it materializes for you.
All boosted here and for the first time ever, had the flu vaccine yesterday (over 65 one). Hoping to make a trip to NYC/CT area in mid-December to see my sister and DD. Had to cancel last year due to widespread Covid variant and DD had Covid. Flying in and out of LGA.
mavericksmom - Hope your Monday NP/PCP visit goes well.

Three of 4 great-grandparents were born in Ireland. My PGGM was born near Nenagh, Co. Tipperary and I was able to view the church records there for information about her birthparents and siblings. She had a paper from the RC Church there attesting to her baptism (I have this document) for her marriage to my PGGF (I have their original marriage license as well). He was born in Northern Ireland and I have a copy of his naturalization papers. We have visited many times spending at least 3 weeks on family visits though DH and DD did some shorter visits later. I honeymooned in Ireland, too. It is a beautiful country and the people are warm and helpful. In April it will be on the colder side but it should not be overrun with tourists. It should be an enjoyable trip.
They picked up the logs today. The one ash was dying on the inside and at the base center is a pile of black crumbly material. It looks like soil but I am sure it was once wood. They haven't scheduled removal of last ash yet . Cold today but the sun is out and for that I am thankful. For everyone with appointments for follow-ups, I wish for good outcomes.

Aren't we a chatty bunch! Cardplayer, my sister also discovered she needed to work on getting up from sitting on the floor with toddlers. Better get a head start!
I stoped coloring after chemo. My Dad had beautiful silver hair but I find mine more like my mother's "mousy brown" . Have also clearly inherited her pattern baldness. Have worn hats everywhere since I started losing hair again with AI's. It's become my trademark and I even have folks giving me hats they no longer wear. The most fun 4 were from a dancer who had "show girl" hats. I wish I could find a party dress to match the royal blue sequins on one.
Hope you get Tippy straightened out, Mary. Certainly sounds like "I am mad at you behavior." It's tough when you can't figure out why. Mutz is currently sulking because Ken got annoyed with his whining and shut himself in the den. Of course, now Mutz is whining at the den door.
Sounds like many of you are in for some really nasty weather. Be careful.

Sort of long day for me, and I didn't get done in the house what I had hoped. Tomorrow, I have the hair appt. and I sort of can't wait. My hir in about four inches long in back. Since it is thin and fine, if I lean just slightly forward to take a bite of food, most of the time I end up with hair in my mouth as well. I know there are things you could do because I've already done it all. The same thing tends to happen out in the wind. Been several months since my last perm and that will definitely fix the issue.
Took Dh to the Skin Clinic today to get his cancer removed from the top of his head. I was allowed to stay in the room during the procedure. Since I did a lot of nursing without being a nurse (you don't have to be a nurse in order to do the things they do when you are in the service, I found it quite fascinating. I hope we are just as successful with the other two spots on his head. He is fair-skinned and had sports cars/convertibles when he was young. Didn't wear a hat and let the wind blow through his hair.
Had to make the trip to the Walmart grocery. Glad we live in such a small town. Still it can be time consuming. I pretty much have to read the label of everything I pick up. For the salt content and to make sure it hasn't been changed on some of the things I buy all the time.
Started out this morning very early to go to our local hospital lab. Special urine test (the one that has to go to Utah as well). It is time for another bladder/kidney scan. I got to go on a 6 month schedule the last scan since the cancer I had in the bladder was finally gone. Since I had the open-heart surgery in-between, I missed the scan that was due at that time. By the time I was cleared for the scan I had gotten on the 6 mos. schedule not meaning to. Dr. Barriento just kept it that way.
The interesting thing about it is that the instructions are to get up in the morning and drain your bladder right then. The urine sample has to be only the second time you empty. I always worry since I wait till, I feel like its time and then cross my finger (one time my legs) that nothing including driving the two miles to the hospital slows the process down.
Speaking of hair by the way, the chemo I had removed every hair on my body. My hair came back to my head, but from then forward -- no hair under my arms or legs. As a side effect I was definitely okay with that.
I'm thinking of all with tests and hoping they all turn out well for you.

I made a bed for him and put it where he naps during the day. I thought different of it when I realized that he was not sleeping on the bed. So, I moved it into the bedroom. It is now back in the warmest corner of the living-room, where I can hardly get at him. He has forgiven me, but I am still keeping the bedroom door closed during the day. I still have to put the fiberfill tube around the edge of the bed. I hope that he will not get mad at me about that!
I also need to get money for change for the crafts sale, and price everything.
I have a few more things to do in the livingroom. Then I will clean up the bedroom. The last to get it, and the one I dread, is the shower.
I got compliments on my new haircut today.

I have an appointment for a hair trim today. No color since I get color every other appointment. I "went natural" two times and wasn't happy with the results either time. I look really "washed out" with natural. It's probably about 50/50 in the senior exercise classes, color and natural. Some of the women have lovely silver or white or nice gray. Others aren't so fortunate and would probably be more attractive with color.
The only negatives to color are paying for it and the extra time at color appointments.
DH just shared the information that he doesn't like our quilt because it's too heavy. So I'm now shopping for a quilt or comforter that fits with the color scheme and isn't so heavy. I told him the older he gets the harder he is to please and he readily agreed.

It is something to be able to paint a particular picture, or to carve a statue, and so make a few objects beautiful; but it is far more glorious to carve and paint the very atmosphere and medium through which we look. To affect the quality of the day--that is the highest of arts.
0 -
Some all-weather fiber-filled comforters seem just right to me, and I have seen people use them thru every season. The downside if one sees it that way, is maybe using your quilt only for daytime as a bedspread and removing it at night for the lighter comforter. My friend Jo has done this all the years I've known her and every bed in her house is outfitted just that way. That would be four bedrooms in the basement, and two upstairs. I experienced this since when Jo and Dr. B. have gone somewhere for a few days I stayed at their house and slept in their bed. The little dogs sleep in the room and they are spoiled to having people there with them. There is only one bedroom downstairs that is used constantly, but even at that -- I would not like sleeping in a basement although it is just as nice as the upstairs. Just a thing with me.
Looking forward to getting my hair done at last today. I do think it thinned even more when I did chemo and that does seem to be a gift that stays with and maybe increases. Doubt whether I take a whole lot of medications now does much for hair either. Back in the day which seems a long time now, I only took three pills and a vitamin plus a Lecithin capsule.
Weather is good today and hopefully will be just as good tomorrow when we go back to Marion V.A. for Dh's eyes.
Dh got something (in tablet form) that you put into your gas tank to help with mileage and to get your car running cleaner. I'm skeptical of most things since he found it on the Internet. He used it several times knowing it takes a while to kick in. We bought gas right outside the V.A. grounds and it apparently did. It usually takes a quarter of a tank to go and the same amt. at least coming home. It is roughly 146 miles round-trip to the V.A. This last time when we arrived home the gas needle never even moved any until the last 9 miles home. Then it was the slightest minimal that could be seen. It will be interesting to see what happens tomorrow when we make an actual round trip. I veer between the idea of being thrilled, although I get much better mileage now than with the old Blazer, to worrying that something un-tried and from an Internet source, might do something to my car that I wouldn't like. The claim is that it you will get 70% more mileage. Well that certainly seemed to have worked out since when I drove the 73 miles home last time, the gas gauge only showed very slight movement and virtually still on full when I have in other times, used a least a full quarter of a tank and sometimes , a little more to do the 73 miles one-way. I'm still out on whether it's a good thing to do, but all things considered, I'm glad my car is older (2011) with high mileage. Should something not be okay I'd wish for those circumstances. Hate to do something to a new or newer than mine, car. I likely will start thinking about needing another one if we get to 200,000 miles.
Need to get my day started well here. Hope you are all fine, and tests or other issues minimal. Hope you have sun where you are, especially for everyone who is getting an early winter apparently.
