Sandra...your wildflower pictures are just beautiful.

Lost...good luck today.  I will keep you in my thoughts!

Carole... your pictures are beautiful and you will have a great trip in the 5th wheel.

I've enjoyed your Easter memories!  I always got a new dress and hat, too, and shoes. We would and still do color eggs and now we hide the plastic eggs filled with candy and change in them for the grandkids. Since we want to make it fair each one has a certain color eggs to find and then the candy filled eggs (that are not specific colors for each child) are for any of them to find.  This year I am not sure which of our children and grandkids will be here for dinner since a few of sons work at jobs where they will be working on Easter.  This year 2 sons had schedules change(mandated yearly) so their hours are kind of hard to make plans for the get togethers.

Time to get ready for work. Hope everyone has a great day!

Just a thought.... GlobalGal....  It's okay.... don't even worry about it... You can tell them if you want, or not, even.  See what they are talking about...   Sometimes our friends are just the best, but once in awhile there is ONE who will say the stupidest things!   I think we all have one like that!   If they didn't know this about you, it might really shock, or scare them....  but seeing how you've come THROUGH it, will re-assure them!   WE are all proud of you!

Just put on that happy face, and be confident!   Then when you get home, you can either  yell into your pillow, or go out in the sun and thank God for another day!  or both!

    Good Morning seniors LOL

All of the pics are so pretty, the colors are glorious--there is nothing here yet. Just blah for color, but it will come sooner or later.

I'm so far behind again and today Lost has surgery and I do hope it's uneventful with being home soon.

Carole u'r RV is beautiful, no wonder u love to go all over the place. That look like true comfort to me.

I've had some tests and done yesterday from the hospital, I was so tired I fell asleep early and slept til about an hr ago missed Tuesday evening totally. so now I'm trying to play catchup and it's not easy for me. LOL

We're having a party here for my SIL 50th--He said he can't believe his age. Ha So this should be interesting all his friends are the same age---and for some reason he still looks forward to his birthday like a kid does. So I hope it'll be a fun party for him. I'm frying peppers for all these people, supposedly they like my peppers so much---yea right it's just tedious to do. That's all I'm doing tho. I'm so lazy. And proud of it.

See, like I mean I have this ONE friend, who says stupid things.... Like when I told her I broke my hip, and she said HOW?  And I walked right into it, and said I stepped on a rock in the alley, and twisted my ankle and fell....  She said  "It's hell getting old!"   And she is older than even ME!  If you can believe THAT!  She can be a B****!

So when anyone else asks, I will tell them I was sky-diving, and the parachute didn't open, and I fell on my hip, and it broke in half!

I mean she didn't even say I'm sorry, or does it hurt, or NOTHING like that!  Then she later emailed, did you get the cast off?  WTH????  I didn't even GET a cast...  Just a rod, and screws and the rest of Home Depot tool-box stuf!

So some friends you just don't even get INTO it...  because you know they will be stupid.

Chevy, love your attitude.  You're a survivor!

Cami, fried peppers?  That's a new one for me.  You'll have to give some more cooking details.  Hope the tests all bring back good news.

We're off on a 5-day trip today, heading to Gulf Shores, AL, to a state park.  DH has our bicycles mounted on the back of the camper.  We're meeting another rv couple there.  The woman has been battling a different kind of cancer and was in remission until another small tumor was recently detected.  She feels good enough for them to take off on a rv trip to the CA coast.  Later on when they return home she'll decide about more chemo.  This is a bucket list trip for them.

This is a "shakedown" trip for us in the camper, which has been parked since last Sept.  Wish us a safe trip.

I don't know whether we'll have internet in AL.  Depends on how close our site is to our friends' site.  They have satellite tv and internet in their motorhome and they give us the password.

Happy Wed. to everybody.  Thinking about Lost as she goes into surgery.

Safe travels Carole!  Are you going  with your friends down the CA coast?  I love that drive down highway 101?  Or is it just 1?  Down from San Francisco to Monterey...

And yes.... best wishes to Lost also!

Lost.....sending lots of positive energies to you today.  Cam -- you too.  Hope you get rested up really, really well so you can enjoy that party.  Hmmmm peppers.  I tend to like them period -- no matter what you do.

Sun is out again today, but we do have rain coming.  I am just hoping that the temps stay up a bit more this time.  We have lots of things showing now....trees are budding out, and lots of forsythia showing its bright yellow colors.  Its refreshing to see the Earth put on its new clothes for the season.  I always feel like doing lots of different and fun things when my part of the world renews itself.  I feel like I'm getting another chance to, to bloom.

Safe trip for your friends Carole and for you and Dh as well.  Gulf Shores was where my ( now deceased first mother and father-in-law ) family used to go a lot from Detroit, Mi.  They loved it, but it was many, many years ago......so apparently it keeps holding onto its charm and great places to enjoy.

    Blessings

    Jackie

Wishing  an easy day for Lost, and sending hugs,

Chevy- I agree about eggs boiling better if they are older, but just read somewhere the other day that you should put salt in the water when you boil them to make peeling easier.

Going for my sim today and starting rads tomorrow. I should be happy, this is the last step towards "normal" life (whatever that will be), but I find myself more nervous than anything else. I think with the chemo, I was still totally in shock for the first one, then the SE's just took over my life. And the BMX was like it was happening to someone else, but now, I have felt okay for weeks, then the 5 week wait really threw me, and now it's here. I am sure I will get through this lke I have everything else, just have a real case of the jitters.

Anne, I too think you will do fine, but the never done it yet syndrome likely gets to all of us.  It will ( if your like most people - end up being mostly tedious and boring.   Even though someone tells you that, in rare cases it ends up not being that way at all.  Bottom line is....is you have never done it, it will be something that instills a little apprehension.  I'm betting on you.

Good thoughts going out to Lost.

Love to all the rest of you here.

    Blessings

    Lost, Sending healing thoughts.

Annie, I think the anxiety comes along with new experiences. Just use whatever cream they recommend. Lots of women wear men's white T shirts to save their clothing from the cream.

    Carole, Have a fun trip.

Just got back from Sim. It was okay, but because they had to "re-mark" everything I was in position for about 45 min. It was tough, but they assured me it won't be that long from now on. They also said they will provide any creams or lotions I need during treatment. So the adventure begins...

Our true home is in the present moment.  To live in the present moment is a miracle.  The miracle is not to walk on water.  The miracle is to walk on the green earth in the present moment, to appreciate the peace and beauty that are available now.  Peace is all around us—in the world and in nature—and within us—in our bodies and spirits.  Once we learn to touch this peace, we will be healed and transformed.  It is not a matter of faith; it is a matter of practice  Thich Nhat Hanh

    Thinking good thoughts for Lost!

Safe travels, Carole, and have a great trip!

Anne, rads were so much easier for me than chemo.  You will do fine but it's always nerve-wracking when you start something new and different.

I am SO lazy today.  I have nothing on my calendar except a church meeting at 6:00 this evening for the Nurture Committee and I have so much I could be doing in this house and here I sit.  I really have spring fever but it's still a little cool and quite windy outside today or I'd be out working in the yard.

I love the diet advice, Chevy!  I was looking at some older pictures last week and it reminded me of just how much I have really gained and how I need to start getting some of it off again.  I have such good intentions and I do well for a couple of days and then I pig out on something....and since I've already blown the diet for the day, I just continue to blow it for the rest of the day.  For some reason, that just doesn't get the job done!

Thanks to everyone who has posted the lovely flowering pictures.  They brighten my day as everything here is still pretty brown and ugly!

Has anyone read any good books lately?  My "have to read" list has dwindled down to nothing and I am looking for good suggestions.

Well, I am going to force myself into getting something accomplished this afternoon....even if it's just a load of clothes!  Everyone have a good day!

RitaJean, have you gone to the thread for book lovers? I've received hundreds of good recommendations and avoided some "stinkers". Recently I've read The Invention of Wings, The Language of Flowers, and The Husband's Secret. All good.

Thanks Sandra for the suggestions.  No, I haven't gone to the Book Lover's Thread but I'm on my way to find it now.  Hope you are feeling better and stronger every day!

http://community.breastcancer.org/forum/7/topic/750637  Rita, I think this is the link to the book lover's club.  Fancy that.....I had no idea it existed.  Well, I hate to admit it, but I have been so backward about computers and moving around anywhere....that I avoid most of the threads and only put the ones I use in as "favorites" .  I end up just using them and let the rest of BC. Org go by pretty much un-noticed.

Sort of a shame since I count myself as a "reader" though I have fairly scant reading time.  It is on my list though and at some point.....I want to be able to ( as I use too ) have a couple of good books sitting around waiting for my purposeful consumption.

    Blessings

Yes Jackie, that's the link to the group. When I joined it, I went back and wrote down every recommendation from the first page. I seriously have hundreds! I keep my list with me when I go to the library (at least once a week) or when I go to a used book sale. It's a safe place to talk about all kinds of books, not just literature. Some people like mysteries, bodice-ripping romance books, biographies, historical fiction, bestsellers, cop & robbers, spies, etc. etc. All are welcome and everyone contributes.

Sandra, I loved the graphic.  I used to easily devour  a book a day and sometimes get another one started.  I wish I had more time, but I'm just going to have to MAKE it.  If you read and really enjoy books....you can go anywhere and do anything with wild abandon.  Sometimes I could get into the books I read so much that I was barely aware of my surroundings.  I kept a book in every room of the house almost and could cook dinner for four with a book in my hand......nothing obviously was going to detract me from getting the full scoop.  I'm  not much on a multi-task level now but that is ok......I've accepted a lot of changes through the years -- not bad usually, just different.

Thanks again for talking about the Book thread.  You have just expanded my horizons.

    Blessings,

    Jackie

    Good Early morning everyone.

I hope everyone's having a decent day today.

Now Jess!  You KNOW we are all going to say we are older than you....!  Ha!  That's because we think you are great, for even saying you are older than 50!  It isn't the number of years, it is all the ones we have left to look forward to!

How old would you be, if you didn't know how old you were?  My Daughter gave me that angel wing  key-ring, because she always thinks I will be at least younger acting...Ha!

So just remember, we have lots of time left to build new memories.....

I usually don't make this much sense, but I just thought I would this time....Ha!   So since YOU delved in head first, I will be 77 this July!  This is what I look like now...
