Oh Lorraine, glad you are okay... I assume besides the nips they dealt with the ingrown armpit hair? !

I hope your family is taking good care of you so you can be at your PEAK for the nip unveiling!! (haha pun intended).
My lovely little French boy would love to meet your girl someday (even though he's fixed)! He believes he is the king of all dogs. And he is!
Have a great day, Ladies!

Good Morning! Slept ok! I had JUST started to be able to sleep on my tummy after all the surgeries this year, and now I am on my back again!! Sooooo didn't sleep as well! Regarding the ingrown hair/zit or whatever it was, it seems to have gone.......what is it that yellow stuff they wash all over you before surgery? I think that must have got rid of it, weird!!
My little frenchie is fixed too, she thinks she is queen of dogs!! they are just hysterical!

fairy, so glad you're home. Sounds like things went well and I hope you're on the mend pronto.
Has anyone here read Waking the Warrior Goddess? I'm almost finished with it and what a great read! I've decided to start drinking green tea again. I know we've discussed it before, but if anyone has some shopping suggestions, I could use some help. I think I want to explore tumeric also.
Areas that I'm not so much in agreement is her recommendation to eat soy several times a week. She does say to avoid the gentically modified variety, and she always recommends foods that are chemical- and pesticide-free, but still, I'm not so sure about following that suggestion.
I was also surprised that she didn't even mention bioidentical hormones. I was disappointed in her iodine information, but at least it was on her radar. If anyone hasn't read it yet, let me know if you'd like a thread with a summary of some highlights. I'm taking it back to the library soon.

Fairy - glad to see you are feeling good today. I am still amazed at how you can pick and choose the nip style you want. Truly exciting and amazing!
Ladies - interesting article from the NY Times regarding cancers and early screening:

Let-it-be- Protein is a struggle for me too generallyand with the cooler weather, I've been slacking off with my protein powder drinks so will try to have more just because you never know, it might help! I love chesapeake bay retrievers btw~! And Basil is a great name!!
Patty, what happens when you take 4 DIM? I usually take 2 myself. I hear you, I don't want to look and feel 90 until 90!
Lucy, thank you for listing your top 5--gives me something to research.
Fairy, sounds like everything went well! I have to tell you, I have real nipple envy! I have a long wait for mine.
Hey, anyone here using Brevail instead of tamox/AIs. I've been racking my brain for the name for weeks and finally remembered today. Maybe it's been discussed to death but I just can't seem to find any real discussions about it.
Thanks Deanna, I want to feel like myself again, too! Yea, pretty much everyone wants me back to being me--they all agree I'm not quite myself.

Fairy, that yellow stuff is betadine, a form of iodine.
Althea, I read that book a few months ago. One thing I can't remember though is with the soy, did she discuss it in relation to hormone receptor + cancers or just Breast cancer in general. Maybe it's good for prevention or for those already diagnosed that are hormone -
Meg, how are you feeling after your ooph?
0 -
aaaahhh! Iodine! I knew it!! cure all isn't it!!
Meg, how are you doing??

Rose - when I had my surgery they used Chlora-prep solution on me. I broke out into a nasty blistering rash from the stuff. Do you use that where you work?
0 -
Oh Meg! its so hard to be patient, I totally understand! Had my surgery yesterday, and today so over sitting around!!! How did you get boob lymphedema??
I think I may have a theory on why I keep getting bumps in my armpit, any medical experts out there please correct me if this is wrong but..........I have a half moon shaped scar under my right armpit where I had the sential node biopsy during mastectomy, they removed 5 nodes, so... I run 5 days a week and get quite sweaty, what if, I am getting clogged up in the armpit causing the bumps?? Does that sound possible?

oh! got it! I hope you get that sorted out soon, it sounds painful!0

Does anyone here use vaginal estriol?
0 -
Hi Fairy,
Yes, I use vaginal estriol. It truly worked wonders in a matter of days.
0 -
Robyn, thanks for the input, when you say it worked wonders, do you mean for vaginal atrophy? I am thinking of trying it, I keep getting UTI's its driving me crazy!! Did you get a prescription?

rguiff, Horner didn't give any caveats in the section where she recommends eating soy several times a week.
She also mentioned briefly that some antidepressants will increase the risk of developing bc, but she didn't say which ones. I don't recall hearing that one before. Has anyone heard of antidepressants as a risk factor for developing bc?

Bayyyy: I don't have an up to date photo of myself for my avatar (I have to get used to my new short hair), so I've loaded up a shot of Basil from my website. Yup, protein smoothies 2 days in a row, feeling more awake.
Fairy, congrats on the nips. I can't wait to get there!!! Being a uniboober is tough. Half the time I forget to put the fake one in.

Good morning everybody.
Fairy - I'm glad you are doing good
Ivorymom - I'm sorry about you boob, I hope everything turns out ok, please keep us posted.
Let-it-be- OMG I just love your avatar, He is soooooo Darn cute.
Well, off to get lab work done (post 5th round chemo) and hopefully, they can help take away some of this horrible bone pain.Does any one have any natural suggestions to help with this? Thank you so much.
Jenny.

Hi gals, how is everyone. L - you sound great as usual, Im glad all went well!! Jenny - I used claritin daily (not the d) for the bone pain. Are you having the neulasta shot? Days 2-5 were the worst for me, skin about three sizes too small for my bones. The claritin helped on the off days but 2-5 were rough. Hang in there.
I have the breast formula from the writer of the 'warrior goddess'. Its good stuff, only thing is that I can't take it bc of my port. The DIM was making me clot too much and I have issues with clotting around my port (which comes out in a month)! The formula has grape seed, dim, green tea, turmeric and b's. My boobs felt great for the first time in months but... I go for a digital mammo in a few so hopefully there is nothing horrible going on.
Does anybody know if digital mammos have had the same false negatives as regular mammos?
0 -
Morning! Hope all are well - I think that the technology of the digital mammos is better but my onc told me in terms of radiation the digital mammo machine give off more than regular mammo machines - UGH!
