Joni, that reminds me of my grandfather going to that stage. I remember him looking at my 7 month old son and asking if she was a good baby. Or me visiting him and he would think I was my mother. It does break your heart. (((Joni)))

I believe that dementia was the listed cause of death on my grandfather's death cert. It must be a frightening way to live.

Hello Everyone,
I was diagnosed today at of 2:00 pm with IDC stage 3 of 3. I have been doing weekly breast exams since 2008 when I had a bilateral oopherectomy due to a "benign" tumor which obliterated my right ovary. I found the lump on 06/11/10 but nothing was there the week prior. I was really shocked when I found the lump while doing the exam in the shower. Made the appointment with my GP for 6/17 and then everything has moved very fast since then. Three mammograms and two ultrasounds on 06/17/10; biopsy on 06/18/10 and today the news that I got above. No history in my family. I see the Surgical Oncologist tomorrow. Thank you for the list of abbreviations as my head is swimming trying to figure out what these abbreviations are and what they mean. My wonderful husband found this site for me. I am worried the most about him. Me, I know I will be ok. I lost my father in May 2009 to two different lung cancers, luekemia and bone cancer 26 days after he was diagnosed. He had no symptoms.

Linda, sorry to meet you under these circumstances.
What type of BX did you have? Why have they already staged you at 3a? Has the cancer already spread to your nodes? I am so sorry you are going through this. My Dear DH is the one who found this site for me as well.

Linda, I PM'd you. Look at the top of this page and where it says Private messages, you should see how many you have written in pink. Just click and read. Best of luck. ~ Meece

Hi Linda...I just want to send you some hugs.
I found this site myself when I first joined I thought i was reading another language. Thanks patoo.
Linda...Maybe the doctor meant Grade 3 not stage 3. make sure you question it.
I'm not a Doctor but i know they cant stage you until the tumor is out and measured and the Lymph Nodes are biopsied.
3 0f 3 actually means you are grade 3
If it was 2 of 3 than your grade would've been 2.
Sheila

Do you need tucking in, Patoo. We sort of got out of the habit, didn't we?

It got fairly warm here today. I think I'll be sleeping on top of the covers tonight!!

Hot and sticky here too.
Meece, thanks for the tuck but I kept kicking the sheet off, tossing because I couldn't fall asleep. Ate too late I think. Now I'm still up tonight and looks like it may also be another tough time trying to get to sleep tonight.
Sleep well Ainm (did you hear from DS last weekend?) Night seyla, JO, Barb_k, Joni, Meece. Linda - praying all is okay and you will check back in soon to let us know how your are doing.

I have been fighting allergies for the past week, and woke up at 12:30 with a major attack. I have no idea what is setting me off, but after the bouts of it last weekend, i have a sinus infection on one side, I didn't get much sleep, maybe four hours.

Be careful Meece - major allergy attacks are dangerous. Anything new introduced into your bedroom lately - new linen (even if prewashed), a trinket on the dresser? Could also be something tracked in onto the floor from outside. When I really need sleep I take a sleep aid.
Hot again here today. Hope all are doing well.

Yes, last night scared me. That is why I stayed up after taking the meds, I wasn't sure I would breathe if I went to sleep. I washed all my bedding over the weekend thinking it was on that. But this morning I realized my palo verde was in bloom, could be that. I guess I need to start wearing a mask in the yard.

Wow, we went a few days on this - that hasn't happened in a while. Guess you all must be having fun without me - no fair, no fair!!!!
Night Ainm (Oh, you're probably already sleeping), night seyla, night JO, night Meece, night Joni.

Maybe I just left the thread with a particularly boring statement, Patoo. No reflection on your hospitality for sure.

Nah, I'm sure it wasn't you. At times it all gets to be a little much but I know all my pals are out there lurking (like I do sometimes).
Night all - I know a little early but may as well say it now.
