We have just checked in to our hotel. I have several things to say but we are heading out in minutes and I wanted to let you know something important. I spoke with our sister PauldingMom on our drive. She didn't answer immediately which had me worried. Not too long after she called me from her hospital room. She is back in for another transfusion and has had to be getting fluids this week. She wanted me to pass on that she is okay and is trying to get healthy enough to be home for Christmas. I had a nice rainy one. How about YOU? Our street was flooded quite thoroughly. I was worried whether we'd be able to get to our house.

Hi all, brrrrrrrrrrrrr, it's cold but, for NJ, they are predicting a 'not so harsh' winter. Sure hope so. Although I actually did well with shovelling snow last winter with nice weight loss but I absolutely hate driving in/on it.
Night my sisters.

Off to church - see ya later.

I slept it off until after 9!!! missed church and feel bad for it. DH and I never sleep past 5:30. I guess being on my feet cooking from 7 am yesterday until 7 pm last night caught up with me. Then there was the clean-up. Still have dishes to put away but at least they are clean.

Well you can come this way and help me shovel - got at least 18 inches with 3-4 foot drifts. Oh, no, forgot the airports are closed so you can't fly in. Okay, you're excused because by the time you might be able to drive (if you don't do potty stops) it will be Thursday and we're supposed to have a heat spell of maybe 40 degrees by then.
Night my friends.

Okay, as long as I have an excused absence, I won't even start the trek.
Good Night!

Well, at least take pity on my poor back. 3 hours of work but then I think about my sisters in the midwest/west coast who have inches to feet of mud in their homes. Shows me how blessed I am that I can get out from under in only 3 hours. I love to put things into perspective.

It is best to do that. I know I am thankful for where I live.

JO, I was hoping this would be my last winter here; wanted to head south but it's looking like I may not go until 2012. Just didn't want the expense of a snowblower. Actually, I don't mind the shovelling, too much anyhow. I just don't like having to drive in/on snow and ice. Scares me and a scared driver is a dangerous driver!

I had a white knuckle drive in the rain the other night. I can only imagine what the snow and ice would be like!

Yeah, especially when you work up in the mountains! I usually take the back roads up and down the mountain. In snow I take the highways but then you have 18-wheelers who can't get up even a slight incline, get stuck and no-one goes anywhere. People were stuck on some of the highways from 7-12 hours Sunday into Monday! You'd think the transportation officals would have figured it out after all these years.
