Love my Vets! Daddy was in service for 23 years. Chief Warrant Officer 3 in Coast Guard. Today he is off to perform a funeral for a vet who has passed. Very proud of him.

My Daddy is a Korean War Vet, and my eldest DS is a Vet, and my Middle DS is currently serving in the USAF.
I know of one vet who works in my company, a young man who had to leave active duty when his wife aquired cancer, and who is now raising his two preteen children by himself. Eery year I send him a thank you email, and get a kind response back. Here's to Ryan, thank you.

Comfort food looks and sounds so good! Hope you are all well.
I found a potential additional abbreviation: AR (androgen receptor). http://ghr.nlm.nih.gov/gene/AR They are referring to this in a PLCIS study.

Well, I just figured out what NOLA is:
The Center for Restorative Breast Surgery in New Orleans, Louisiana (aka, NOLA)
Should that be added?

I remember it took reading a few posts to get that one too,Leahin.
Goodnight, Patoo, and all our other frequent posters here. Time to get back into the swing and bring tea and warm milk.

Wow - I decided to pop in tonight to say Happy Thanksgiving to all my friends and I notice that everyone seems to be missing for a while. Did something happen? Is everyone OK? Or are you all a little like myself - too few hours in the day to get around to everything.
Anyway - I think of you all often - I hope everyone is well and enjoying Thanksgiving.

We all felt so lost without you, Ainm. (If it isn't the real story, perhaps it makes you feel good anyway.) It seems that we have fallen out of the habit of bringing each other comforting treats to help each other sleep. Thank you all for being here through the past year.
I raise up my cup of tea to each of you!

Just trying to offer up something warm and cozy, and tea sounds yummy, even this morning.

I made some hot apple cider yesterday and it was delicious (not much of a tea drinker although I know certain kinds are healthy) and made the house smell wonderful. Gearing up for a first visit to the oncologist monday - I feel like I know what she is going to say already. This is the most ridiculous question ever, I think: do you think doctors will be honest with you when you ask what would YOU do in my situation - especially if you trust the doctor? Again, jumping ahead of myself - she may say strongly radiation and no chemo. Just seems like so many of these doctors are throwing the decisions back to you after giving you numbers - and those of us in the "gray" area are still lost...
Oh by the way, good morning!

God Morning!
No, I doubt that the dr would tell you what she would do, but you could always ask if you were her mother or sister, what would she recommend.
I remember the whirl I felt when I talked with my first onc and he said he highly recommended chemo and rads. And I did both, and here I stand 7 years later. Whatever they suggest, ulitmately the choice is yours.
I love the smells of the holiday season. Cider, cinnamon, spices. Years ago before I drank coffee, I would make a pot just to smell it in the house.

Good Morning....
I never tasted hot apple cider. Do you just heat it up?
My Oncologist said if you were my sister I would treat her the same way.
