DD is in Italy as we speak, sleeping away about now probably.  Sheila how far ahead of us is Turkish time?  I was told Italy was 9 hrs ahead, but that was before the switch to fake time & I haven't been able to get Rachel to answer my question about the time difference.

They arrived on Sunday, the 13th, around 1AM my time according to the itenary.

The most I can get out of her so far is she's having a blast, the host mom is just like me - only Italian, and she's dreaming in Italian & still doesn't understand it!!!! That cracked me up!

Turkey is 8 hours from NY ( ET). Italy is closer should be less.

    Let me google.

Of course she is having a blast being that young in a different country  ............

I went and visited my parents, making sure they had some healthy meals ready.  Then FDIL came over and brought a dress for me (Wow! purple and tight!) Then she did my hair and DH took me to Black Angus where I indulged in some yummy food. All in all, a great day, and all of your birthday wishes here at BC.Org made it very special.  Thank you!

Thanks.  Only as I stumble on them on various threads.  Be really, really, really, did I say "really", glad when they get this scrolling thing fixed.  Hard on the fingers that are already overtaxed for many of us on AI's and other meds.

Hey Friends - I need to just be able to get this out of my system - I've had recurrent pain in my lower rib cage - Not scream out loud pain more the ouch ouch what IS this type pain, an example is I cannot tolerate my DH draping his arm across me in bed as it hurts/aches.  I said it to my onc last nov and he told me to relax and not 'jump to conclusions' he examined me and said I was probably worried it was mets but that if it was I wouldn't be able to tolerate his examination. Well I suppose the thoughts of mets were somewhere in the dark recesses of my mind but my more immediate concern was to deal with the pain and I felt very much put in my place by the onc and my DH (who is incredibly supportive) followed the drs lead so I just sucked it up.  The pain isn't all day everyday but most days I experience some discomfort/pain at some stage throughout the day and some days it's pretty persistent and uncomfortable, I generally try not to take medication but  on occasion I have to take some pain meds which sometimes works and sometimes I might have to take meds for a few days.  Well lets jump to last Thursday - I decided to go to my GP.  Went in, waffled on about a sore toe, and then eventually broached the subject of the pain in the rib cage area all the time apologising for being so needy and trying to explain that even if I had never had a cancer dx I would have gone to him about this pain.  Anyway he examined me and said he would send me for a bone density scan just to rule out osteoporosis.  So I'm waiting for a date for the scan - and then it crossed my mind that if it's not osteoporosis will they just think I'm a nut case but then again I really would prefer not to have osteoporosis but I would like to know what is causing this pain - it's such a conundrum - I don't want there to be a problem but I do want to know whats causing the pain - but the cause of the pain could ultimately be a problem.  I'm over analysing!!!  I'm sorry for putting this on you all but I don't have anyone I can share with other than my DH and sometimes it's just hard to explain how I really feel to him because I know he thinks that at this stage I should have put it all behind me.  Sorry -
