His auntie and uncle bought him that transformers t-shirt. I guess that's an okay thing to have on a baby??? I love the fact the shoes are newborn size, but have non-slip soles. Like he's anywhere near doing the "Risky Business" slide.

Babies are the world fore-most transformers, so a t-shirt is appropriate I'd say.

Oh, Jo. You are a strong woman! Hope you can get some relaxation soon. Thank the Lord your great grandson is going to be okay. So scary! Don't play down your concerns in comparison with others. They are just as real and just as life affecting, and in as much need of this hug:

Made my first job application in 25 years this week!!
DD arrived home on Tuesday. She will be here until she starts back to uni on 19th of the month.
Hope this week will bring good things for everyone.

Wow Ainm! Your work references might be a bit out-dated, but you strike me as being a do-er, so I wouldn't imagine that would stand in your way!

Joni - my work references are non existent - that's one of the many problems I have with this whole process!! I've always either been self employed or I did all the admin etc for my husband's business - but now there's no work so I have to job hunt - scary but exciting - but no independent work refs either!! I imagine this week application was just the first step in what will be a very long process.

Ainm, what about clients of DH. If you had to interact with them in any way you probably can use them. Same for your own customers when self-employed. Anyone you had interactions with you may be able to turn into a reference. Matter of fact, have them call me - I'll tell them about your organizational skills, ability to emphasize and be creative when dealing with the needs of others, acts of patience, yada, yada, yada...
JO, sorry, I'll go eat soap and watch my language.
Hi Meece, Joni.

What would I do without you lot ??? You have no idea how much I value your support - honestly - you really don't - you are my safety net and anchor and oh so much more!!

Ainm, I was in your shoes 7 yeaqrs ago. ihad been self employed for 17 years. I got a short term job with a friend which actually gave me a little "credibility" for my resume. I then got in with a temp agency which has been wonderful for experience and income. I have had regular jobs as well, but a temp gets you in the door. At the end of work on Tuesday, I will be eligible to be hiredd permanently at the job I have now. I think this may be the one I keep until I retire. Right now, the stress is only a few days a month when I must deal with corporate. Other than that I am my own director.

Volunteer opportunities also can turn into a paying job. You'll find the opportunity, I can feel it.
Hi everyone.

Meece - hope you got confirmation of permanancy
So far no results (apart from regrets) in the job hunt - I am doing a training course next weekend for a Community Health Education Programme but it is volunteer work but I'm keeping in mind what Patoo said - you never know what might come of it.
Have a good week!!
