Ainm, how is everything going? New job, Mother?
I put in my application for a different job yesterday. It is with the same entity Dh works for, in the department he left last year. It would give me more days off with him and allow us to travel to seePatch more often. I had a long talk on the phone with Patch last night, he chatters so much! He's learned to scoot. Next time I see him he might be walking!!! He's already 7 months old!

Thanks.
Hi everyone, you al look so great. Yes we appear to be moving on but every now and then have to visit so many who have become our friends.

Meece - doesn't time fly!! Imagine Patch is already independently mobile!! I hope the job application is a success. I'm still working and really like it - got a renewed contract today to the end of February and I think that might be extended. I've been doing some training and had exams before Christmas and did well so now I've advanced to the next section and will have exams again in February. I spoke to my supervisor about needing to have surgery and asked her when would be a good time to plan it and she suggested the summer time as she may have to cut my hours while the students are on holidays which implies I may still be there in the summer! So I've asked for a June date for surgery! I must try and lose some weight before that though! Mom is doing well enough - all I can really do now is ensure she is well cared for. BIL was moved to a care facility nearer to where we live about 6 weeks ago but he will never be fit for independent living again - so sad. Hopefully 2012 will not spring any more unpleasant surprises on us - only good things for all of us in 2012!!
Patoo - great to see you - and looking so cheery!! Hope all is well with you!

Patch has learned to scoot on his bottom but thankfully isn't up on his feet yet. His daddy walked at 9 1/2 or 10 months. Once he was on his feet, he never stopped!

So glad your work is going well. Since the job I applied for "closed" last Friday and I haven't heard anything, I doubt I'm in the running. Oh Well.
I had had it yesterday and when my nemisis from Corporate called and asked why I hadn' responded to her fax I told her because my office only has junk equipment and the chances of me getting a fax depended on such! It made her get quiet. I had been requesting equipment repair through my direct boss for over 3 months. Yesterday he was out of the office for about 8 hours so I went ahead and called IT. He said he'd send me a replacement for one printer, so I asked about the other. He said, somewhat jokingly, one complaint a day. I told him I had been more than patient because I had shown him the problems in October when he was at our office. He told me he'd send a replacement for that one, too. Unfortunately both replacements are ones another branch has had problems with and they have been repaired. Oh, welll.

No word back on the job. It seems that Personnel refused to submit any outside applications to the Director.
We aren't allowed to take days off between October 31 and March 31, per the employee handbook. So today I go to work while the only other person who can cover for me completes the first of two four day weekends in a row.

Meece, how come the cover can take days and you can't? Are you with a small business? How are the "new" fax machines working?
0 -
Yes, small branch, and the person who covers has seniority.
The manager left for four days and didn't want to take time to get toner for the copier before he left. Said it would take too long, so really bad copies being produced. Too bad. he won't let me go to the office supply store because he "likes to get out of the office" which he does frequently.
How's everything with you?

Everything is well, thanks. Sounds like they are just taking advantage of you. Manager not "managing" very well. Hopefully he, or his boss, will need a copy of something in a rush and won't be able to read it.

That's what I'm hoping. Yesterday he arrived at work at 9 and left at 3:30 and took an hour lunch. He made himself very unavailable while he was there.
