Yay Ainm.
treeskier, this thread is not as active since BCo put up theirs, modelled after this, on a thread (forget right now the actual name) that they send newbies to when they first register. Now we use the thread to say "hi" to friends who are used to coming here.

Hi Shirleta. Also check out the "New to Breast Cancer" thread; the first one on the Forum Index page. Since the Mods put it all together I haven't updated anything here so not sure if there may be more info to help. But, do come anytime or if you need anything. You've probably found BCo to be a wonderful place to get the support so much needed during this journey.
Blessings.

Thanks so much! I'm not a newbie to BC (17 years since original dx, 20 months since dx of mets to bone & lung) - but I was having a hard time reading some of the posts. I'm keeping this list open on a separate window for easy reference. Really helps!

Hope all my ABBR BC friends have good plans for TG. Miss all the activity here! It kicked off of my favs. list!

Meece - Tá súil agam go bhfuil tú go maith agus go bhaineann tú taitneamh as Altaithe.

Thanks Ainm. I miss you all. (Hi Meece)

Sea, bhí Thanksgiving deas, agus bhí sé deas go bhfuil na buachaillí go léir le chéile. An bhfuil "Altaithe" lá saoire i do thír féin?

Meece - Ní raibh lá saor i gcóir Altaithe againn anseo - bhí mé ag obair!! Ach do bhí mo cháirde sa Stáit Aontaithe i mo intinn agam.0

Ainm - most people get a four day weekend here, but this is the first year I had to work on Friday. It sure makes a person tired to have family and entertaining and have to go back to work the next day.
My boss told me when I hired on that nobody gets the Friday after TG off, but somehow he had the day off on the calendar, then amazingly, he took two days off the prior week, which extended into the other three days off TG week. He returned to work yesterday after 11 days off. Must be nice. And my Friday... I took one customer call and finished my regular work early.

Jo - don't feel left out - Meece and I were just exchanging Thanksgiving greetings in Irish - it's such a novelty for me to be able to post in Irish to someone in the US - Meece is one savvy (sav-ee) lady!!
Meece - Thanksgiving isn't celebrated here although we are aware of it and sometimes it is used as a good excuse for a party!! Christmas is the next thing I'm looking forward to, I finish work on Christmas Eve and I'm off until 3rd Jan!! I will really enjoy the break as I have been working long hours since I got my job and it's a big change from being self employed. But I'm very disorganised - very little shopping done, and only started my Christmas Baking this weekend - so much to do and so little time to do it when I can only use the weekends to do it!!! Unlike you my boss is a workaholic and works longer hours than any of her support staff - I think she would love to have us all back at work between Christmas and New Years!! But thank goodness as it's a university teaching dental hospital we benefit from the fact that the students will be off.
Will you do anything special for Christmas? I'm a little dubious as it will be the first Christmas that I don't have Mum with me but the staff at the care home think it would only confuse her un-necessarily if we took her home here for a few days.
Apologies to all the others for hi-jacking the thread - but it has been a bit neglected lately anyway!!
Hugs!!

aimn-brain fade-I didn't remember that you got a job....what is it?

Ainm, no worries about hijacking this thread. I'm thrilled to see it active even if I don't understand a word that you and Meece are exchanging. It's just good to see you both here.
I wal off last week and will be off the week between Christmas and New Years. Lovely - I can get used to sleeping in!
Hi Joni, JO5 and anyone else who stumbles through.

Ainm, perhaps you can take Christmas to her. If you are like me, you will find little memory makers in your boxes of decorations, and perhaps bringing some of these to her will bring a smile to all of you.

Oh my, this thread fell off my radar & apparently everyone elses. Look at you Patoo! you changed your avatar! Ainm, how's life? JO-5, how are you? Meece, you aren't posting much anywhere, but it doesn't appear any of us are. I guess that's all good-we are moving forward!

Hi Joni - Happy 2012. I don't post much these days but I do keep an eye on everyone!! Hope this year will be a good one for us all.
