I liked the prayer so much this Friday. The part about being busy and just being a servant to our own lives. Never really know what are lives are about. Thank you Paula.
for you who asked.... I have forgotten ( chemofog)
Someone here asked how my LE was doing..... so I said.." my LE is normal" meaning it is just normal LE, as to be expected.
Have a Blessed weekend ladies.... I hope to accomplish a lot here at home. My M-I-L is coming next week from AZ. and staying here.... so I want to wash all the bedding in the guest room and get some deep cleaning done here too. I also want to do a little more decorating for Christmas.

Thank you so much for reminding me to slow down and listen to our precious Lord. Easier said than done, for me, but it is so good to be reminded. Love to all by bc sisters, please pray for Susan newly diagnosed and just got mast. xo

Amen.
It was the perfect prayer wasn't it? Everything we have been talking about, the noise, and not being able to, or not getting into a space to hear God. The timing seems Divinely Inspired.

Paula,
Your rash is very weird, I agree. Just doing the usual, what has changed questions...when did you start back on Tamoxifen? any new shampoos, detergents? Have you tried any over the counter topical corticosteroids? Have you had contact with any plants or trees? You mentioned a possible food reaction, just a strange presentation!
Thank you all for the fur baby prayers, we are hanging in there. She was a pistol tonight and ran like the lead husky on the iditarod, so I was tickled.
Michelle, I cannot wait to hear all! Do you have your website going yet?
LMFSM, yes prayers for Susan. Has she come to BCO yet?
Theresa (and all), you may be off dreaming of sugar plum fairies, but I was thinking of finding a way to incorporate church bells/chimes as a way to quiet myself. My office-mate has an alarm that is a church bell, one tone and it is set at certain times. It is so incredibly soothing, I was surprised at how calming and peaceful the sound was. I have mentioned how sensitive my hearing is after chemo, and how easily noises can startle me, or actually hurt. So I was thinking if I got a CD with Church Bells, it may be a way to get me in a space to listen and hear God better. Not a bunch of bells, but just the one ding.......ding......ding.....ding.....ding took me to another place. I'll let you all know if I find something, and it may help make that connection.
I feel much better after prayers, as always, I never know how much I needed it until afterwards. It is so meaningful to pray in a group too.
God Bless You All, Sisters.

"He who sings, prays twice"...something I heard a long time ago...and always comes to mind when I'm singing a joyous song to our Lord....
I found an old LP on ebay awhile back and purchased it because it was an album we used to listen to every Sunday growing up and my mom loved it...I've held onto it for quite some time because I didn't have a way to play it, but thought, "Someday, I'll figure out how to play it again".
I finally found a company that was able to transfer the LP to a CD and received it today in the mail. I was ecstatic to be able to put the CD in my player and hear songs that brought me such happiness in my heart when I had been feeling so low lately...
I was suddenly transported to a simpler time and place in my life and felt such a feeling of joy to hear these songs that were such a special part of each Sunday we shared as a family. I was amazed that each song that played, I was able to sing it and sing it with such vigor that tears filled my eyes and immense joy filled my heart....
Tonight, I want to share a favorite of mine that touched my heart in a new way for me...in a way that we so often need to remember when we are traveling a journey like we are...We get so busy with everything going on, day in and day out...we forget that sometimes we just need to be still.....
I wish you could hear the music, but here are the words...I hope you all feel blessed tonight...
I need to be still (and let God love me)
by BJ Thomas
I need to be still and let God love me...
I need to be still and let God love me...
When this old world starts to push and shove me, I need to be still and let God love me
I need to relax and let God take over...
I need to relax and let God take over....
He'll take this load off of my shoulders, I need to relax and let God take over...
When there's trouble all around me, and my soul cries out for rest, when I feel like I'm failing, even though I've done my best...when decisions get so heavy and there are answers that I need, I know it's time to just be still and let God love me...
I need to be still and let God love me....
I need to be still and let God love me....
When this whole world starts to push and shove me, I need to be still and let God love me....

Tori,
Wow. We are all getting such strong messages together tonight. I am beyond thrilled for you that you were able to be transported back to a time of wonderful memories of your mother and the music. This comes at just the right time, and it is soooo good to see you tonight, and know you are coming back up. Thanks so much for sharing your song, I enjoyed it very much.

Having trouble slowing down tonight. Tori, that sound so cool that you got the song. breathing deeply here and praying with all my heart that I can be open to wht God desires of me. I want to serve him and please him. I love you so much Jesus, I give myself to you and ask for your love and mercy. Amen

Wow, I'm stuffed...
And yes, Tori very nice song indeed.
Traci ~ have you tried Pandora.com or Live365.com (these are internet radio stations) and I think it is easier to find songs by description. Glad to know that Ms. D got her strength back, yipee! My rash is weird, and it is pre-Tamoxifen. But I did use Topicort a few times and that's a steroid cortisone cream. I took a bite of something like Melba toast, (don't have the name brand), and I mentioned that my lips and tongue was a tiny bit itchy. My hunch is that the rash came from that little bite. No kidding. One of my ears is like Dumbo, and the Zyrtec is only helping 50% but alas I can't take more than 1 a day.
I also compared my blood test report from Aug and Nov 29th. My blood platelet has dropped 42 pts. My tumor marker CA.27.29 dropped from 13 to 10, and Segmented Neutrophils is 79.6 (high), Lymphocytes is 13.1 (low).

Paula,
Did you get a chance to look at the ingredients? Did the topical help at all?
in regards to your labs, I was wondering what your absolute neutrophil count (ANC) was, and your WBC. The ANC is something we take a closer look at and this is in relation to your WBC. It is normal for the platelet count to fluctuate, are they in the normal range? Labs can be a bit deceiving, as there are the numbers, then it's how they all relate to each other. It can get pretty deep, left shift, right shift...you might be interested in reading about lab values and their interpretation. I do have a book here, so I will give it a looksie if you can let me know your WBC, ANC and Platelet count.
The dumbo ear is another thing though...my goodness! Does it have any blisters/fluid? My rash knowledge is so/so. All I can say is med rashes tend to present more uniformly, and usually hang out around the trunk and arms, with some leg involvement. Shingles will always be on one side of the body, and can be on the face as well. I was thinking yours sounded more like a contact rash...almost like you got the oil of poison ivy/oak on you...but that's because I am biased after living with a few landscapers I did not see the part about your mouth tingling...any blisters on your lips, around the mouth, on your tongue? How did your son's rash manifest? (did you ever find the culprit?) I am stumped, but hope this turns around straight away! I wouldn't be too happy if it was me. Poor you!

Hiya Traci ~ I also gave a hug to this lady who worked at Sam's Club. She always hugs me and I'm thinking that's the side that rubbed on her hair??? She might have something on her hair and it touched my cheeks. I think you hit it right on the nose. If that's not it, it's gotta be that tiny piece of toast, man that bite I had was soooo small, but it gave me the itchy tongue and lip. With my son, my DH had him crawl up to the attic with him at that time, and I believe it was insulation. He was protected with goggles and mask, but I bet it was when he took them off that got to him. Mike is fine since.
WBC 6.5, RBC 4.03, Platelet count 212 (from 264 in Aug, 3 months ago pre-Rads). Segmented Neutrophils 79.6 (on the High side), and Lymphocytes is 13.1 (on the low side). CA 27.29 is now 10 (dropped from 13 in August). Don't have ANC.

Tori - I loved the song... I wish I could hear it, I'll google it. I have always loved BJ Thomas but have never gotten an album or CD..... Christmas list..... :-)
Ellie - That's my prayer too "praying with all my heart that I can be open to what God desires of me. I want to serve him and please him. I love you so much Jesus, I give myself to you and ask for your love and mercy."
DD and I had a nice day shopping... got out early and are back early. Our town had its Christmas parade and my SIL was driving "King" the firetruck, so the grandsons were in the front seat with him tossing out candy. Good times. Then Becky and I went to lunch in town, then to a Christian shop that I'd never been in. Nice. We both got something hot to drink and walked home. That's a nice perk about living in a small town. :-)
Traci - happy to hear your fur baby is doing better! I think I'll mosey down to Midas Touch and see what Christmasy things I can get for Lucy and my granddog - Doodlebug.
Peace and all good.

Theresa,
Oh, that's the name of the website you sent me! We are holding our own, but for sure the kiddo has not had pheasant or duck. This is a great site for choosing novel proteins for dogs with allergies, so I will keep it as my favorites, and the group of Golden's in front of their human mom is adorable I bet Doodlebug will be having a nice day after your trip.

Traci - I spoke with Jo about Delilah and she said she'd be happy to help you (via phone and mail order) and/or recommend some stores in Alexandria. It's like a dog mecca in her shop! So many things out there for sensitive pooches. I got Lucy and Doodlebug some buffalo chew sticks, Lucy some organic chicken bites and Doodle some organic Liver training snacks. (From Santa) I was telling Skip that she has all this exotic food for dogs and cats (buffalo, duck, lamb, venison plus raw food in the freezer) and for humans there is only the old stand-bys; ground turkey, ground beef, chicken, pork.... so I told Skip to stay away from Lucy's food! LOL
I still have more shopping to do for the humans. :-\
Next Saturday Becky and I are going to the Advent retreat at the San Damiano retreat house. It will be so nice to just BE. I wish the local ladies could come to it, but I know the Valley is a far distance when you're not used to the commute.

Hi Sisters,
I have this allergic itchy rash which started on my right ear since Wednesday and the area has grown to my cheeks and my left ear is also itchy. The rash on my breast (from radiation) its area has grown a bit below the breast and to the upper part of my left arm. I think I will just go to Urgent care and please send some prayers my way. It is so bizarre...the symptoms is either contact dermatitis or radiation dermatitis or could be from food allergy, I'm not sure.
I will post later and let you all know what the doctor say. Thanks.

Paula,
I just saw your post over in Power of Prayer, and that brought me here. I am VERY glad you are going to the urgent care clinic. I am praying for the best outcome here, and whatever is happening, may it be easily treatable and turn around ASAP!
Theresa,
Thanks for the info. My kiddo may be good with the duck, but cannot have any of the others. Yes, we are that bad. I really goofed with the canned salmon, especially it being such a fatty fish. I was thinking the Omega's would be good, and I am thinking Duck is very fatty as well. Kangaroo is 2% fat. I have really learned so much on this journey, and our kiddo's should be eating much closer to their natural diet. These fillers, corn, potatoes, wheat are doing our pets a great disservice. I have met so many people dealing with this, so I will refer people to Jo's website. I'll give her a call too, and just put out the kangaroo suggestion to her. Maybe other dogs will benefit. Are those her Golden's? Alright, kid's giving me the furry eyeball.
We are almost due for an Angel story, and a reminder, tomorrow night on Biography, the series on Near Death Experiences starts at 10:00 EST for anyone interested. I really feel like this will be a joyous, reassuring series.

Traci - thanks for the reminder !!
Theresa - the parade sounded so much fun. I wish I could drive a fire truck!
To all - this morning I read all the posts from prayers last night. I'm going to have to either sleep late on Friday mornings or take a power nap. Just hard to break habit of getting up so early. I guess I still hear my father "early to bed, early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy & wise"
Paula - no setbacks allowed! Seems we conquer one hill and the next one is already on the horizon.
Tori - what a great story about finding the album and converting to a CD. And the lyrics are so comforting. No wonder it brought back great memories.
Drum roll....so I went out to plug in my Christmas lights for the first time on the two tall evergreens on either side of door. i tested all of them before I put them up. Well, one of them didn't light. And it's TOO COLD to do anything about it tonight. i feel like the father on Christmas Vacation.
Today i tried to think of Mary two thousand+ years ago - pregnant with Jesus and on the way to Bethlehem. A time with no cars, no electric lights, no dishwashers, no TV, no malls, no hospitals. Her quiet strength, bravery and simplicity are humbling to me. Hail Mary full of grace.

Janet,
Beautiful reminder about the time of Mary, and not to be flippant in any way, but no epidurals, no ready hospital. To put it simply, I would not have made it past my appendicitis at age 21 without surgeons, anesthesia and antibiotics. There may have been childhood diseases that took me sooner, yet I had the availability of vaccines. Mary was indeed very strong and had a quiet strength and simplicity that is admirable and to be desired.
as an aside, I just thought of a funny story. My Father was a Deacon in the Church, and we would have the meetings of the Deacons and Elders at our house on a rotational basis. So it was our turn, and the Minister was walking up the driveway, and we all had a laugh about Moses and the Burning Bush, as our neighbor was burning a bush right next to our property due to disease. The minister thought it was a nice touch, if not a bit overdone.
