    Apple

Please let us know how you are? I am devoting morning prayers to you and your health, and to all of us to find the support for our 2011 goals. Even those goals that include avoiding chocolate doughnuts. LOL

Janet I got a chuckle on your post as I am weak too, I am on weight loss program with my MIL and weigh in is today, last night I ate 3 brownies ...nice discipline.

I am finding it hard to be disciplined with the cold weather all I want to eat is warm stick to the ribs food. I am craving chicken and dumplings. Last night I made chile with sweet potatoes and corn bread.....then the brownies.  YIKES

Ladies I feel there are so many in need of our prayers and intentions, what do you think of the idea that we focus our prayers on one individual per prayer time and their need. Of course we could add all of our intentions but maybe the collective energy will help each person each week.I need a new motivation for prayer I am praying but not as diligently as I was last year.

    IDEAS???

    Michelle,

I think that is a wonderful idea about focusing on one person and their intentions...mmmmm.. brownies... As far as prayer, if I"m not doing it as morning or night ritual, I do it as it comes...if I read about someone that needs prayer, I do it right there...if something goes right for me, I praise God right then....I heard a saying a long time ago that said, "he who sings, prays twice"...I've always kept that close to me as I love contemporary Christian music...so I put on the local KLOVE station or a good CD and praise God in all His glory in my very non talented singing voice!  :)

    Apple,

Lifting you up in my prayers today...

Janet-I feel your pain in the eating thing... Dunkin Donuts is my favorite, but I get the powder sugared cream filled ones....they are naughty but so good...I don't have one close to my house anymore, so it's Krispy Kreme....they are glazed, but good....

prayers for all my sisters...for all their intentions....

    Tori

Apple ~ glad to see your updated info that it was just a scare.  Praise Lord! {{{{{{Hugs}}}}}}  We will continue to pray for you Mary :)

Michelle ~ Like your idea, and usually when I pray, the person most in need would be mentioned "first" and then the rest will just follow, because there are so many of us that needs prayers <3

Janet ~ I was doing ice cream every night and just managed to stop it 3 nights ago.  It's surely is a challenge but I refuse to feel guilty.

YAY Mary!!!   Praise the Lord from whom all good things come!!!  Where is prayersareanswered? - because prayers ARE answered :)

Yes, well... donuts.  I've been SO good lately.  I've never eaten so many brussel sprouts in my entire life as the last few months (Anti cancer book).  And my goal is to get to 24 BMI.  I'm at 25 right now and just have another 5-8 lbs to go.  Driving on one of my endless errands, I drove past Dunkin Donuts and told myself "no."  But, on the way back, that steering wheel just turned right into the parking lot :)  This isn't just any ole Dunkin Donuts - I think they sell the most on the east coast - open 24 hours and they make them all day/night long.  It's always full of police officers!

Janet - that's pretty funny about DD.  I'm a sucker for the chocolate frosted.  Whenever I did an audit of one of the engineer's test articles (back in NJ), he "bribed" me by having DD coffee and donuts ready. ;-)  Yesterday, I had a BIG eye opening moment.  I was too tired and lazy to pack my lunch, so I decided to go to McDonalds.  I was being "good" by not ordering a Coke or fries, just a sandwich and unsweetened iced tea.  I've been trying to keep track of my calories on LiveStrong.com and did a search on McDonalds and found the mushroom/swiss burger --- it was over 800 calories for that one sandwich!!!  I nearly died.  That put me way over on the calories, fats, sodium and carbs for the day and it was only noon!  So I was a very bad girl.

I have the Anticancer book too and I should re-read it, because I remember it motivated me to exercise and eat right when I bought it, right after I was diagnosed.  After chemo, I went on a slippery slope of anything goes and that's not good.  The tamoxifen is also putting weight on me.  So I tend to give up and eat all the comfort food.  Plus I'm depressed most of the time, so I eat with that too.  So, I'll look for that book and reread.

    Happy news for Mary!!!

Paula - I have the same prayer style. :-)

    Tori - that's right about singing! :-)

    Michelle,

Even before I read the next post, I think that is a GREAT idea. I was just thinking about asking for a special prayer for Mary, and we certainly should do this together too. I'll keep reading, and see what the consensus is.

I think it's a good idea too.   Are we thinking about praying for a specific person each day or are we talking about Friday night prayer?

I think its a good idea also, we pray for one person.  Let us know who and when.

Why don't we start this Friday and just go through our list. You could PM me if you have urgent need. Of course we can pray for this persons intentions, then we could add everyone else in at end. We are still covering everyone but at one time, in the same place we are concentrating 5-10 minutes of prayer to that persons need.

I think we should cover everyone here, and if we have urgent need we could do weds/Friday for a quick 10 minute check in and prayer. We could also end in gratitude for prayers answered.

    Let me know.

Betty for surgery & Tori for last chemo - you are in my prayers!

Michelle - for the list...prayer for a cure.  And, you all might remember my daughter's BRCA friend who had a scare back in November (which thankfully was B9).  Her name is Lauren.  Her prophy bi-lateral mastectomy is on the 12th and I told her I would add her to our prayer list this week.  Only 31 and a year-old baby.

    Good Evening Ladies,

First of all Tori, how wonderful. You are a warrior! Betty, may everything be smooth and uneventful!

I do have an urgent prayer request. I have a TN Sister who I met and completed chemo together. She has a great attitude, is a fighter, and I pray pray that what has been called a recurrence and new lung nodules can fall under a fluke of implant rupture. The MD's are not leaning that way, but my friend has put a few clues together, and I am all on board with her. I don't want it to be anything but. She lost her sister to this disease as well. Please pray for my friend Judy, that she has no progression of disease. Her PET is Monday, and the MD's are fast tracking her. Thanks so much.

can we give her extra prayers this Friday night?

Been a bit busy.. I had an older couple over for dinner.  John helped draw the plans for our house to submit to the city.  He and I are in the same musical group.. so i worked so hard today.

I am glad my fears were not realized.  I do still have this neck node thing, but I am glad my onc. is not worried about it.  I hope I can attend Mass tomorrow.

    prayers for all my sisters.

    Sisters!

I am done with chemo!  Praise be to God!

All went smoothly....I took my holy water from Fatima with me and blessed the last treatment and myself before it all started...

When it was done I shed some tears and literally got down on my knees and thanked God...

Now, I wait for it to get through my system....start feeling stronger and on to rads.  This road isn't looking as long as it once did...

You all are part  in making this something bearable....thank you for being such extraordinary women to me!

I'm off to get some rest...only got 3 hours of sleep last night due to the steroids...I"m hoping to be back for nightly prayers....

God has truly blessed me today!

    peace and prayers,

    Tori

OK ladies please see the intentions for this evening:

We will raise up two of our sisters this evening:

First Betty, then Tori (and lets give thanks that Tori has made it through chemo too)

Betty- prayers for her 3 children, that God is watching over them for different reasons. My first daughter have a safe delivery and healthy baby, my son drivers a fuel truck in snow and my other daughter takes call for work she works in a hospital in the middle of the night in the inner city, that they are all protected.  Also for my sister that they get all her cancer and that be the end it it. Surgery Jan 29th.

For Betty's surgery Tuesday may it be easy and successful and may her tumor markers be normal and reflect good health across the board.

    Here are Tori's prayer requests

:Aside from asking to be blessed through her last chemo...we ask that prayers be said that Tori's rads go smoothly...and as she starts on tamoxifen as well.  She doesn't ask for perfection, only that everything be tolerable... I

The prayers requests below are those in her own words:

I ask for prayers for my husband...bless him for being such as stronghold in my life, for loving me unconditionally and for being everything I never knew I wanted or needed....Bless him in his work...bless his family and our marriage, that we may be blessed with many, many, more years together....

I ask for prayers for my brother in Virginia, who is in the military and getting ready to deploy...keep him safe and bless his new wife as she spends time without him...

I ask for prayers for my sister in Germany, who is pregnant..bless the child growing in her womb...bless her husband and  her little boy...and bless her as she gets ready to make her next pilgrimage and as she offers our intentions at the Blessed Mother's apparition sight...

I ask prayers for my older sister, who went through an ugly divorce.  Her ex-husband is trying to alienate her from her son and it seems to be working...her daughter is caught in the middle of the mess and being poorly treated by her father and her brother.... she is very close to her mother and doesn't let her father influence that bond...please ask God to give my sister the strength and tools she needs to bring her son close to her again...

I ask prayers for my sister in Nashville...she is trying to get pregnant...bless her and her family with wonderful things...

I ask for prayers for my other brother in Omaha....that he find a wonderful woman to share his life with

I ask prayers for my dad in Omaha...grant him health and happiness each and everyday...

I have a huge family...my dad with 5 other brothers and sisters and my mom who has 9 other brothers and sisters...most of them married and with families (a few that are not)..that they all be blessed abundantly in this new year...

I ask for prayers that as I start to move on with my own journey that I be able to be the best version of myself that I can possibly be day...whether that be a wife, sister, friend, cousin, aunt, daughter, mentor, or role model.  That I can be an advocate for others that can't help themselves...that I realize it is okay to take time for myself and say "no" to others if I have too, and that' it's okay to put myself "first" every once in awhile....

There was a shooting at the high school I graduated from yesterday...the vice principal was killed and the principal is in stable condition...please pray for the families of the deceased, the family of the one still in the hospital and for the family of the shooter (who killed himself)

I pray for an end to BC and all other cancers...

I pray for our world leaders and that the problems of our world be resolved...

I pray for an end to abortion.....

I pray that any intention I may have forgotten be heard as I know God knows my heart better than I do....

I pray that the wonderful women that I have met (and those I have not) on BC.org are blessed with health and happiness this new year (and for many, many years to come)...that they always know how much they are appreciated and loved...that they know they have been such an inspiration to me and so many others....and that they know they they never walk alone....

I know I have many petitions, but I also want to give thanks for all the wonderful things that I have been blessed with as well....I really do have so much and I sometimes forget how blessed I am, when there are so many others out that have so little...bless those struggling mentally, spiritually, emotionally, psychologically and physically....

    Thank you again...

    peace, prayers, and love,

    Tori

    Ladies

Let us do our prayers at 9:30 EST and just read through the prayer requests then say an "Our Father, Hail Mary,Glorybe, Ask our Almighty Father, Mother Mary, and all the angels and saints to hear our petitions as a collective voice and then offer it up and start again.

We will also include prayers for Lauren and Judy!

I am going to be out on a date with my Husband so I am printing this off and excusing myself at 9:30 EST and will spend 10 minutes on these prayers although you won't see me on line until a bit later.

Tori and Betty please feel all the love and energy coming forth to you this evening and I hope you will have time to breathe and meditate before the prayers so that you are able to receive them with an open heart and acceptance of God's Grace.

    Bless you both!

Hooray for Tori!!!!!  I remember the feeling. Smile

Doc has started me on a new anti-depressant, one I've been on before, when my Mom passed away.  She checked with my onc to make sure I could take it with tamoxifen.  So we'll see how it goes.  Made me sick to my stomach most of the night, but hopefully that will wear off.

I met with the program managers this week about my job burnout.  They've been very supportive and are willing to help me venture down another road... they will give me a task or two to see if I like it before I dive into it with both feet.  The head PM of our office loaned me two books on program management.  It was still overwhelming and chaotic at work, but I feel supported and hope there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

Prayers at 9:30?  I'll be here.  Bless you for making it a half hour early.  I'm tired already and it's only 7:30!
