I find it much more healthy to blame others for my cancer. All right, that was a bit much. But I am in a let it all hang out mood, sorry ladies :) I usually give the cancer the shoulder shrug, knowing I have been in contact with many environmental toxins in my lifetime, I probably have more preservatives than a twinkie. I also drank far too much in the past. So for the most part, I say it happens, and it happened to me. I may have helped it along, but I also think I'm a fairly nice person (hee) so there before the grace of God go I. You don't have to agree with the nice part.

I make one concession, so if you don't mind indulging me for a moment. I found it interesting that my cancer was shaped like a finger pointing in towards my heart. 4 cm by 1.0 by 1.5 (on the left side) My heart was grieviously broken repeatedly in a series of events, over the course of several years. different situations but, my heart took a very very bad hit, and my grief almost overcame my will. I know I have breast cancer, but I look at the symbolism of cancer pointing directly towards my grieving heart like a finger pointing out a great wound. I work everyday to try and adress the ties that bind me. and pray pray to heal the would.

so, two very conflicting ideas, and the answer is probably somewhere in between.

    Alice,

while I know you are dealing with the drains etc...I am just thrilled with your path report. How wonderful! You have been through a lot, rejoice in your Warrior spirit. God, you and your medical team have done great work.

and more to come, Theresa.....just don't want to lost my post.

Alice, a complete response to chemo can only be determined when you do chemo BEFORE surgery like you did. To have the response you had ( 100%) makes you SITTIN' PRETTY SISTER ! I am very happy for this, for you. God hears us.... Bless you.

I am so sorry about Judy, I have been praying so  much for her and I am so saddened by this news. I will pray that she has full support, love and help with this new issue.

    Alice, that is awesome!!!

Laura - your points are well taken and have been explored on a deep level personally for me. I also believe the way I approached life put me in a weakened position where cancer could come in. I am working on this and we do need to let out negative feelings, if we keep them in it is like an immune suppressor. Lets keep talking about this.

    Prayers tonight?

Women have been conditioned by society to not express anger--if you do you are considered a you know what--my goal is to be true to who I am and learn to accept ALL my feelings--without judging them--just accepting them.  Not so easy to do, but I am practicing!

    Hi Ladies

Am unable to attend prayers tonight, I am stuck in the San Francisco airport flight delay. I think I am getting too old for this kind of travel. Tired and just want to be in my own home.

I love the idea of getting together, If anyone wants to come to AZ I can host, I have a great vacation home up in the mountains in Flagstaff. I live in Scottsdale which is beautiful too.

The best trip ever would be to LOURDES.

Hope all of you are ok this Friday.

Blessings to all of you tonight.

I remind myself that I am in your presence, O Lord.  I will take refuge in Your loving heart.  You are my strength, in times of weakness.  You are my comfort in times of sorrow.  Dear Jesus, I come to You today, longing for Your presence.  I desire to love You as You love me.  May nothing ever separate me from You. Amen

    Greetings All,

I've been reading your posting every day in my email on my iphone but waaaaayyyyy too tired at night to get on line.  I am making a huge effort to do this tonight.  Alice - I hope you're feeling better and recovering from your surgery. Tori - Toward the end of my chemo I felt like I was literally clawing my way to the finish line.  Hang in there.  You will do this!  And to everyone who has posted so honestly, and lovingly, and with such humility - Love you, love you, love you!!

The last month I've have more fatigue than I can remember since chemo.  I drag my body out of bed, go through the day with as much determination as possible, come home and make dinner and shortly afterwards crawl in bed with my grandson and don't remember much until my husband comes to get me to go to bed.  And, then the next day starts.

I go to the oncologist next Tuesday.  I'm expecting that my blood test will say anemic again and get another bag of intravenous iron.  Sometimes, sisters, this is like a rollercoaster ride.  I'm getting better, better, better....almost getting to 100% and then, down, down, down to a valley of fatigue and joint pain (Femara).  And, then, little by little back up the hill.......and down again.

Good thing I love roller coasters!  Otherwise this journey would be too much.

I'm not making prayers again tonight - too late for me.  Please keep me in the loop and in your prayers.  You are always in mine!

    Pat

I was so excited to see the news tonight about Pope John Paul - he will be beatified in May which is next step toward sainthood.  I watched both abc news and also cnn where they interviewed former archbishop/cardinal of DC.  As you know it takes 2 miracles to be named a saint.  They interviewed the nun who was healed of MS after praying to the Pope to intercede after he had died. That was his first documented miracle.  As you know, he suffered from MS too.   I am trying to remember everything they said - but the NEXT (or 2nd) miracle must now happen after today!!!  It goes through an unbelievable documentation process - the miracle must be instantaeous, lasting, proven medically and completely unexplainable based on science (and  more that I can't remember).  SIsters, I think this is an opportunity for us to pray to Pope John Paul asking him to intercede on behalf of any Stage IV breast cancer victim in the world for a miraculous cure.  What do you think?  It could be a one sentence prayer that we post every day from now on.

I know I won't make it until 10pm - it has been a long day.  But I will be remembering each of you in prayers before bed tonight.

Jesus Christ our God, we adore you and thank you for all the graces you have given us this day.  We offer you our sleep and all the moments of this night, and we implore you to keep us safe from sin.  To this end we place ourselves in your sacred side and under the mantle of our Lady, our Mother.  Let your holy angels surround us and keep us in peace; and let your blessing be upon us.

    Amen

We pray Thee, Almighty and Eternal God, Who through Jesus Christ hast revealed Thy glory to all nations, to preserve the works of Thy Mercy, that Thy Church, being spread through the whole world, may continue with unchanging faith in the confession of Thy Name, through the same Christ our Lord.

    Prayer of Pope Paul VI

Lord, I believe:  I wish to believe in You.

Lord, let my faith be full and unreserved, and let it penetrate my thought and my way of judging Divine and human things.

Lord, let my faith be joyful and give peace and gladness to my spirit, and dispose it for prayer with God and conversation with others, so that the inner bliss of it's fortunate possession may shine forth in sacred conversation.

Lord, let my faith be humble and not presume to be based on the experience of my thoughts and my feelings; but let it surrender to the testimony of the Holy Spirit, and not have any better guarantee than in docility to tradition and to the authority of the magisterium of the Holy Church.

    Amen

Great Saint Joseph, God chose you as head of the holiest family ever to live on earth.  Watch over us and extend your protection to our home.  Model of faith and all other virtues, obtain for all the members of our family the grace to serve the needs of others and to live close to the Lord.  May we remain united in the ties of Christian love and share the peace which Jesus promises his disciples.  Grant that we may work together and love one another in order to fulfill our roles in the larger family of the Church.

    Amen

    Dear Lord,

Help us to remember in these troubled times, the cross you carried for our sake, so that we may better carry ours and to help others do the same.  As we offer up (your petitions) to you for the conversion of sinners, for the forgiveness of sins, in reparation of sins, and for the salvation of souls.

    Amen

I adore You, my God and I love You with all my heart.  I thank you for having created me, for having made me a Christian, and for having preserved me this day.  Pardon me for the evil I have done today.  If I have done anything good, be pleased to accept it.  Protect me while I take my rest and deliver me from all dangers.  May Your grace be always with me.

    Amen

    Michell and all,

Thank you all so much for your prayers for Judy. I talked with her quite awhile tonight, and she is getting her game face on. She is also allowing herself her feelings, and is very present. I'm so glad we met a year ago (almost to the day!) I have full faith in her ability to shine. I am hoping this is just about her needing to have a different chemo regimen. There is so much to learn about triple negative cancers. I am going with the belief (mine and hers,) that there is something about her particular form of triple neg. cancer that did not respond to T/C.

    Betty,

I'm sorry your sister received some bad news. Praying for you all.

    lovemyfamily,

love your quote from St. Augustine. Beautiful.

to all, sorry I missed tonights prayers. I was talking with Judy, so I was not far from you all.

    God Bless.

    Hi Sisters,

Sorry I missed prayers again tonight.  We have a post office that closes at 7pm and had to sent out an important document.  With all the property values dropped below 50%, the county assessor had the nerve to increase our property taxes and I had sent out a petition to lower the value.  I pray that they will agree with me.

Alice, that's wonderful news about your path report.  I hope your drains will work better.

Theresa, how are you feeling?  I hope that you will respond well with the antibiotics and you will rid of the bronchitis.  God Speed.

Traci, sorry to hear about your friend Judy.

Tori, Betty, LMFSM, Laura ~ thanks for heading the prayers tonight.

Betty, sorry about your sister's bad news.  I hope you will share your worries here with us, we will be here for you.

Michelle, thanks for the offer.  Lourdes would be best, but your vacation home sounds great.

Pat ~ nice seeing your post tonight.

Janet ~ thanks for posting about the Pope.  I missed it but will try to find it online.

    Good night all.

    Good evening sisters,

Just a short post.  Doc put me on new antibiotic and new cough syrup and I finally feel like I'm turning the corner!  I actually got out of the house for the first time in days.  I'm just tired and winded.

By the grace of the Holy Spirit, I'm turning a new leaf.

Yes, to the suggestion about praying for a Stage IV sister in the name of JPII!

Yes, to the suggestion about trying to get us together this year.

Betty - praying for your sister.

Pat - praying for your returned strength.  I know the feeling.

    Traci - praying for Judy.

    Pax et bonum!

hi Ladies, as I said my sister was going to have a lumpectomy and rads she thought.  This week she had a MRI and they found 3 more areas of concerned that they biopsied.  Two in the other breast.  If these are cancerous she will most likely have a mastectomy possible a double.  She is not taking this well and she a wreck.  So please keep her in your prayers I think she will get her results Monday.  Betty

Here is the official prayer to ask intercession of Pope John Paul II.  Found it on EWTN and Catholic Forum.  I edited to add our miracle request.  I will post this every day.

O Holy Trinity, we thank you for having given to the Church Pope John Paul II, and for having made him shine with your fatherly tenderness, the glory of the Cross of Christ and the splendor of the Spirit of love. He, trusting completely in your infinite mercy and in the maternal intercession of Mary, has shown himself in the likeness of Jesus the Good Shepherd and has pointed out to us holiness
as the path to reach eternal communion with You.  Grant us, through his intercession, according to your will, the grace that we implore -- the miraculous cure of a woman with Stage IV breast cancer--in the hope that he will soon be numbered among your saints.  Amen.
