Prayers in time of Financial Difficulties
God of Mercy and compassion, you promise to give us all that we need.As we face this time of financial struggle, help us to trust in your providence and keep our hearts fixed on the treasures of heaven.
Knowing What to Do ~ by Stormie Omartian
Lord God, I pray You would show me where to go and what to do. I want to always be in the right place at the right time. I lift up to You the specific decisions I need to make today with regard to certain situations in my life. Enable me to hear Your voice instructing me, and help me to do what You are showing me to do. I cannot move forward unless I know You are guiding me. Amen.
Prayers for the sick
Let us ask the Lord of all health and salvation on behalf of our brothers and sisters who are suffering from bodily illnesses that he alone who is Dear Physician will help them all.
O God, who bids our lives to run fast or slow, accept the prayers of your servants who in their sickness implore your pity. Save them and change their fear and apprehension to joy.
We call on you, Lord, who has formed our bodies and souls and who governs, guides, and saves all of humankind, may our prayers move you to relent and heal all who are sick, remove their suffering from them, raise up those who must convalesce in bed, so that they may glorify your Holy Name, now and forever. Amen
Theresa's prayers
A PRAYER FOR INNER PEACE.
Lord, please put Your peace in my heart.
I'm worried and anxious.
My mind races and obsesses.
I can't help thinking about my problems.
And the more I think about them,
the more depressed I become.
I feel like I'm sinking down in quicksand
and can't get out.
Calm me, Lord.
Slow me down, put Your peace in my heart. No matter what problem I have, Lord,
You are bigger,
You are more powerful than it is.
So I bring my problem to You.
I know what I want.
I know my will.
I do not know Yours.
I do not know how You will use this problem for my salvation.
I do not know what good You will workout from this evil.
But I trust You.
I trust Your goodness and Your wisdom.
So I place myself in Your hands.
Please fill my heart with peace.Amen.
FOR CONFIDENCE IN THE STORM
Lord, we are very much aware our lives are fragile,
that dangers are all around us,
that storms of various kinds threaten us.
We are concerned about health,
we fear crime and violence,
we know that accidents can happen in a twinkle of an eye,
we worry about finances,
we are anxious about members of our family.
So we pray for protection,
for confidence and for wisdom.
So often we look only on the waves,
the wind the dangers, the troubles,
the difficulties and we see little hope.
At other times we place too much confidence in our own abilities,
and we act foolishly and recklessly.
So we ask that You will help us to keep our eyes on You.
Give us a keen sense of our limitations.
May our faith in You be strong and unswerving,
standing firm on the face of hardship
and remaining humble in times of success.Amen.

It's 9:20 I hope I can keep awake until prayers. So, much has happened this week
Kay--this is the worst , you are processing the words Breast cancer and cancer. It sucks. It's as if you can't take another thought into your brain. It gets better over time. But i will be frank, you will look at all things said, written, words meant to be kind that miss the mark. I was told I had Bc and a brain tumor on the same day---not to play one upmonship---all I could say "was well when the shit hits the fan." Well that was jan23rd 09. Still kicking with new boobs and no crainotomy---they wanted to do one. I said as long as it leaves me alone I'll leave it alone. You will be seeking information like a swiffer. The BCO teaching sections are the best on the internet. That's how I found the discussion board. I was seeking an explanation of what everything that was being said to me by the doc's. I don't believe I found a hole in their explanations of anything that I wanted to know. The teaching info on the main site covers everything . Better than any other site. Forget American cancer society site. Or NIH Re:BC. IT's here.
These will be some of the hardest days of your life adjusting to that damnable word. Prayer will help you cope. We have some of the best people at composition of prayer. You may be an artist in that regard. Let it pour from your heart, cry and scream when you need too. Use a pillow for the screaming, it will hurt the vocal cords less. I'm still recovering from the last scream when I forgot the pillow. Their are already prayers here on your behalf. If you do not attend church consider returning. If you don not say the rosary please reconsider that also. Each will help to bring peace to your soul and mind. Faith is are constant, vigilance is our guide. Accept nothing without question. Be your own advocate. If you are uncomfortable with something --say it---until everything that is said to you , is said in terms that you accept. It is now prayer time L&H&P sheila

Amen. Those were just THE perfect prayers for tonight's intentions.
I was watching a WETA special tonight that had performances by Rolling Stones in the 70s. First I cannot believe that was 40 years ago. Time has a way of slipping by and seems to go faster & faster. But one song of theirs always stuck in my mind and it was on the program tonight...."You can't always get what you want. But if you try sometimes, you just might find, you get what you need." That's actually a good philosophy on life. Trust the Lord to give us what we need. Peace & God bless.

For the souls of those who fell asleep this week, including my cousin Cliffy, our SFO minister, Peggy, SFO member, Dale and those at work who had relatives pass from this world...
May flights of angels lead you on your way
To paradise, and heav'n's eternal day!
May martyrs greet you after death's dark night,
And bid you enter into Zion's light!
May Choirs of angels sing you to your rest
With once poor Laz'rus, now for ever blest!
From a letter by Saint Braulio, bishop (Office of Readings)
Lazarus our friend is sleeping. In saying this, Christ who is the hope of all believers refers to the departed as those who are asleep. By no means does he regard them as dead.
Paul the apostle does not want us to grieve about those who have fallen asleep. Our faith tells us that all who believe in Christ will never die; indeed faith assures us that Christ is not dead, nor shall we die.
The Lord himself will come down from heaven and there will be the command of the archangel's voice and the sound of the trumpet; then those who were united with Christ in death will rise.***************************************************************************
Protect us, Lord, as we stay awake; watch over us as we sleep, that awake, we may keep watch with Christ, and asleep, rest in his peace.
The Lord bless you and keep you;
May He show His face to you and have mercy.
May He turn His countenance to you and give you peace.Amen
Good night sisters.
