    Hello Sisters

LOL at Cheri and Camillegal. Cheri even though we are all suffering from this accursed disease it is good to be able to laugh at both it and ourselves at times. You seem to be able to pass comment on yourself with ease and to laugh which I think is great. Long may you continue with that ability.

Sagina thank you for your welcome.

I go for a CT Scan tomorrow ,Friday (25th January). Hopefully it will show that the tumours have not started to grow again. I explained previously that this Scan, which is only 2 months since the last, is for my consultant Onc to decide when I am going onto a drug trial. A Japanese company is trialing a drug and to quote my Onc " You tick all the boxes. It's as if this drug was designed for you." I have a meeting with the Onc on Monday afternoon so I'm presuming that I will know then when I'm going onto this trial. However I'm more concerned to know that the tumours are still static so say a prayer please that that will be so.

I'm not long back from a holiday and I will tell you about it soon. It was just great.

In the meantime take care all.

    Frank

Hello everyone, It has been a while since I popped in but I do get email notifications of all the activity on this thread so I have been trying to keep up.

Cherilynn, your post made me LOL!!

Gina, good to see you again.

Frank, praying for good results and that the clinical trial is a go.

Earlier this week, I was elected to the executive of our parish Catholic Women's League. I was approached about putting my name forward before Christmas and said no as I felt I just didn't have time to take it on. I got a phone call last week to tell me I had been nominated for three positions. I took that as a sign that God was calling me to serve in this way so I agreed to let my name stand. The elections were on Tuesday and I was elected to the position of Corresponding Secretary for a two year term. Please pray that I may be successful in living up to the trust that has been placed in me.

I'm busy planning my Mum's 80th birthday party at the moment. My sister and brother-in-law are coming over from England so it will be very exciting for us all to be together. It has been 5 years since the whole family was together. The party is on February 17 and my sister flies in on the 16th. I'm praying that the weather will cooperate and they'll get here on time. They have to fly from Manchester to Heathrow and then on to Toronto.

Blessings to everyone. You are all in my prayers daily!

When I tell people that I had a DMX because of BC, the first thing they say is " I am so , sorry to hear that. How are you managing the Chemo?"

When I tell them " Thank GOD I did not need chemo", the reply is " Oh then you are OK, it was not a big deal!

Cancer is a big deal!!!!! We all  are in Gods's hands and praying that he has a long life in store for each one of us!

Michelle, good luck with all the new church responsibilties! Post in here how it's going!

Linda - I agree with Cami, I'm trying not to laugh but sorta am.....

FRANK!!!! Welcomg Back!!!! You have been missed, but we knew you were on holiday. Hopefully you had a wonderful time and we DO want to hear about it when you get reacclimated to "regular" life. And aboslutely prayers headed your way for definite shrinkage of the tumors. Thankfully the new med is there waiting for you possibly, but yes, it would just be great if the tumors were GONE.

I'm headed to the online rosary site now and am going to list you on the intentions for folks to pray for you. I hope you feel the presence of all your sisters here tomorrow at your appointment. We are here for you.

Reposted from novenas: Linda has just had notice that she has mets to the cervical spine. Linda's prayer was countinued on the last novenas at the end, specifically b/c it was a beautiful prayer. Don't know if anyone caught that, but as the keeper and recorder of the last few novenas, I had control over how things were recorded. I kept Linda-n's intention and prayer as the last to be said. Now she needs us.

    Linda-n3pb:

Thanks be to God for each moment of grace that comes from His love every day, all day.

Thanks be to God for the opportunity to share His love every day, all day.

Thanks be to God for the courage and strength to carry out His will for us every day, all day.

Thanks be to God for those who have gone before us, have shared their love with us, and showed us how to live the way Christ asks us to live.

Hi Cami -----no this is Linda ny3b that changed her screen name to Linda-n3. She has been with us for several novenas. I kept her intention at the last of the novenas that she joined, b/c it was a prayer more than an intention. I believed it to be so beautiful. I hope whomever takes over from me that they consider leaving it at the end of each novena. Her words are powerful, for those of us that have daily struggles, no matter what they might be, Linda's words are a blessed way to end the thoughts of a novena. L&H&P's sheila

    Just an update -

The big tumor in the liver looks all cooked up. So ablation obviously works, thank The Lord. But there are two tiny new ones that weren't there 6 weeks ago so the radiologist will ablate them on the 28th. We got Godzilla. Now her babies are on our radar.

Meanwhile I'm still in limbo waiting for the insurance company to approve the oncologist's chemo plan for me. So frustrating but I'm glad the radiologist is willing to attack while we wait.

Praise The Lord for carrying me and my family through this, despite how angry I get. He must really love me if He puts up with all my rantings.

I thank Him for all of you. God Bless.

Penny, what fabulous news--FABULOUS. I can only imagine your joy. The two new ones have know idea they will be toast. Please, post to Frank. I don't know how widespread radio frequency ablation is, but with stories like yours, more patients will demand this therapy. Just like all services, provision is often consumer driven. Plus thanks be to God, for the inspiration to the man for the idea that this therapy may work. His research began 20 some years ago as I previously posted, at the Karolinska Institute. Thanks be to God and St. Michael for the answer to our Novena. Penny, let us know the date of the next abaltion and we can plan on the 9 hour novena again. Would you like to have it to ST. Michael again? SO, very happy for you dear sister.

Thanks, Sas-schatzi!  St. Michael is near and dear to my heart, so that would be great.  The ablation is on the 28th.

    Hello Sisters

I have deliberatly not posted for a while as things have been evolving.

The story so far is - I got a CT Scan on 25 January and had appointment with Onc on Monday 28th. Onc didn't turn up, I was told later that he was delayed on a flight back from USA. So I saw one of his deputies who was Asian. English was not his mother tongue, his English was poor, he had a very thick accent and his communication skills were atrocious. Result was that I understood that the tumours had spread to some lymph glands in my stomach and one in my neck along with a blood clot in my stomach which is where the cancer started. I thought the cancer had returned to my stomach. I always ask for a copy of the Radiologist's report but he wouldn't give me a copy. So I thought what is in there that he doesn't want me to see. The outcome of the whole affair was that my "head was spinning" I hadn't the mental strength to argue about getting a copy of the report and was absolutely shattered. One thing that I did gather was that I had to start daily Clexane injections right away because of the clot. For the next few days I was so upset that I couldn't go to the office, couldn't sleep and went to hell and back. I have subsequently been told by a nurse that it is my right to ask for some one else to whom I can talk and whom I can understand.

Then I got a phone call on the Wednesday asking if I could come the next day to see the consultant Onc. Of course being in the state of mind that I was I thought either he wants to tell me himself that the Scan has shown that there is nothing more he can do for me or he wants me to go on a drug trial. As it turned out it was the latter. However I asked if we could discuss the results of the Scan. It turns out that yes there has been a bit of spread to two lymph NODES not glands in my stomach and one lymph NODE in my neck. The blood clot was in a vein beside my stomach which -the vein- was being squeezed by the lymph node that had swollen. I asked the Onc how he felt about the Scan and he said yes  there is slight progression but I wouldn't be too worried just yet. Needless to say I slept on Thursday night and was able to return to the office on Friday.

I will tell you later all about the tests that have been subsequently carried out for the drug trial. I will also explain later why a little piece of me is either in the USA or is on its way - I believe that there is a bad storm down the East coast of USA causing some flights to be cancelled.

Take care and please say a prayer that the drug trial is sucessful.

    Frank

Wow, Frank, sorry you had to go through all that.  I know exactly what it feels like.  I'm still waiting for chemo - the insurance company is giving my oncologist a hard time.

Here on the northeast coast of the USA, we ARE having some storms, high winds, rain, and snow/sleet, just so you know.

Hope to hear more from you soon.

    Hi folks.

Penny so happy to hear your news. Thank you God.

Frank what a terrible experience with the foreign doctor. I had a similar experience with an Eastern European pediatrician after my daughter was born. Good luck with the trial.

I'm currently stranded in Montreal because of the snowstorm. All flights to Toronto were cancelled so here I sit. Luckily I was able to get a hotel room near the airport so I'm taking the opportunity to post here. I get the updates for this thread via email and pray for everyone here every day. Please say a prayer to St. Christopher that I get home safely sometime tomorrow.

On a positive note, my sister and BIL are coming over from England next weekend to celebrate my Mum's 80th birthday. Hopefully I'm getting all the bad weather and travel issues out I'd the way to clear the path for them.

    Blessings.
