Penny I will start praying at 7am. I have about a 14 hour work shift on Monday, so what better way to get through it than to sneak off each hour and pray for you? :-) See, you're helping me out, LOL. Kidding aside, we are all praying for you, and we are strong together! St Michael the Archangel, defend Penny. We ask this in Jesus' name, amen.
Praying for you,
Cheri

Thank God for you guys!
Tumor grew a little between last scan and today's ablation. I
called it a bastard. The doctor called it a "burned bastard". I was
in there for about 2 hours. He had to use a CT scan to see it
because it was hiding from the ultrasound machine. He also had to
cook it a little longer. I came out of there drenched in sweat!
Nausea & pain are starting to subside.Came home to find the my bedroom decorated with lights,
balloons, & cards, compliments of my friends.I am so blessed.

Penny, you were in my prayers tonight at the Solemnity of Mary mass we attended. The surprise upon returning home sounds wonderful. Best wishes for all the best in 2013.

Penny, WOW, St. Michael was the right one to choose. Every time I've read it with yours and with Fuzzy's 9 hour novena it got more intense with the words. Zap those damn cells to hell. May you be blessed. Let it be. L&H&P's sassy

God's blessings to you all this New Year!
I've learned of two women newly diagnosed with bc this week. One woman my age and one younger woman with a 2 year old daughter. My prayer, as always, is a cure for this evil that keeps growing.
My only consolation is God's mercy. All of our suffering is held precious to Him and lessens our purgatory. And it opens our hearts for wider compassion than before cancer.
From the words of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton to her spiritual daughters (today is her feast day) ... Be above the vain fears of nature and efforts of your enemy. You are children of eternity. Your immortal crown awaits you, and the best of Fathers waits there to reward your duty and love. You may indeed sow here in tears, but you may be sure there to reap in joy.

Oops I'm a day ahead of myself. Tomorrow the 4th is SEAS's feast day! :-). She's such a great saint I'm sure she doesn't mind.

I think that today is the Feast of the Holy Face of Jesus! Do any of you subscribe to Magnificat? A friend gave it to me as a gift last summer, and I love it. It's such an inspiration, keeps me centered. What a blessed gift it is.

Linda --please tell the story of how she keeps you centered and inspired. You know me I love stories
Helllooooo Theresa, know you are busy up to your eyeballs, pop in more dear friend

God has truly blessed me with all of you. I will be getting a scan on Feb 6th to see what things look like. In the meantime, I've been in a little bit of pain. The painkillers make me sleep a lot!
Praying for more guidance and continued blessings. Thanks, everyone!

Magnificat is a version of the Divine Office/Liturgy of the Hours. It has morning prayers, evening prayers, daily Mass readings, saints stories, daily meditations...... The friends that subscribed us to it, gave it to us a gift for helping them with their wedding, they were married and left on their honeymoon, he had a stroke on the day they reached their first destination, ended up in a coma for about a week, then died. So I made a commitment to read it as often as I could, both morning and night, and pray for his soul and peace for her. I'd say that I get the morning and evening readings and prayers in about 95% of the time - it's amazing to me that just the few minutes a day that this takes (probably less that 20 minutes a day), has brought me so much. I feel that it has centered me, gives me more peace, helps with all the daily stresses..... helps me put my trust in Christ and Our Blessed Mother... and so much more.

Linda, whew sometimes when I ask for a story, it sets me right down. Your dear friends. Your reponse to there tragedy has been beautiful though. I've fallen off saying my Rosary, but not the random prayers when moving about. The interesting feeling when we did the novena for Fuzzy and Penny, was the sense of peace with each progressive hour. Also, with each reading the words took on more life. Making sense?

Hello friends, Sorry I have been so remiss but always thinking of you. Daughter is going for surgery on 1/14 and mom's bc is progressing in her liver. Sorrowful times. Please please pray. Penny so glad for your procedure. Frank, good to see you again. I'm from Nu Joisey Linda, I loved your story. I may look for the Magnificat for myself. I could use it. My church is actually called Our Lady of the Magnificat! Sheila, as always, an inspiration. Prayers for you all and blessings all around in 2013! Mary

Mary I'm so sorry to hear about your Mom. What kind of surgery is your daughter having?
Penny - many prayers for you. I used to live in Absecon and went to St Eliz Ann Seton. Had my chemo in Northfield.
Sheila - God love you! :-)
Linda - I am a Secular Franciscan and we do the daily office so I know where you're coming from! Doing the daily office even just morning and/or evening prayer really helps to put my heart with Christ's. and to read the words of the saints! What wisdom! That's where I pulled the words from Mother Seton. What a grace! And if you don't have the Liturgy of the Hours volumes or the Magnificat magazine there is a fantastic online version (divineoffice.org).
I bought a subscription to Magnifi-kids for the grandsons. They love taking the magazines with them to Mass and read along with us.

I was just looking at the Magnifi-kids this morning - I'm glad you brought it up, thinking of getting it for my grandchildren too. So thanks for the recommendation, Theresa. I find that if I miss saying the "Office" in the morning, my day doesn't go as well, even if I say other morning prayers - I think it just starts you out with a good mind set, and I feel that something is missing if I don't get them said before bed time. I'll check out the divineoffice.org too. I found that they have a lot of the music, in Latin, on Youtube, it's beautiful, and easy to sing along with.

Not being raised Catholic, I will leave that to each of you. I know healing is out of the question so really I guess mercy for less pains & same for my (elderly friend) Honey who is suffering from multiple health issues & ulcerated open leg sores they have decided are from an allergic reaction to medicine.
May God bless all of you & Thank you for including these people in your prayers.
