Thanks for your insights on the yoga everyone. I do agree that there's a difference between yoga purely for exercise and a true yoga practice. When I was starting to get back into exercise after my surgery, I bought a couple of yoga DVDs. The one was a bit weird and I only did it once. Maybe it was crossing the line and that's why it made me uncomfortable. It's an interesting topic that's for sure. I guess I'll stick to my aerobics...as far as I know the church is okay with that. LOL
Feelingfeline, that's interesting that Confirmation is done by the PP in Ireland. We're in a pretty well populated diocese and have a bishop and two auxilliary bishops. The new bishop was born in our city so that's nice that he's coming here to do his first Confirmation. My daughter has chosen Cecilia as her Confirmation name. She's very musical and she researched and learned that St. Cecilia is the patron saint of musicians. It's also my grandmother's name but she didn't know that when she chose it.0 -
Michellio I love that she picked the patron ST. of muscians (she likes it so well) but especially she didn't even know that that was u'r grandmother's name. Nice choice.
Do u all remember making u'r confirmation--Wow it was really special and I almost didn't make mine. We had a box to put names in if we questioned the name as being biblical--Well they knew my handwriting. names like Throcmorton, Dagwood--etc. So they sent me to Mother Superior and called the Pastor-big meeting well he just laughed and said u'r making it don't worry about it.The nuns were not happy with how he handled it at all. But he used to always laugh at me for some reason.

Michelle, what a beautiful choice of confirmation name your daughter has made, and what a wonderful coincidence about your grandmother. Wish you both well for the big day and for many many blessings in your daughter's life.

Good morning. We're leaving for Disney. Can't wait to spend quality time with my aunts who live down that way.
"My holy Angel Guardian, ask the Lord to bless the journey which I and my family undertake, that it may profit the health of our souls and bodies; that we may reach its end, and that, returning safe and sound, we may find our friends and family in good health. Do thou guard, guide and preserve us. In Jesus' Holy Name we pray. Amen."0 -
Have a wonderful and safe trip.

- Hello all, Blessing & prayers for each & their loved ones.
I just had my last day of work at my pt job, I put in my notice last month. It is very relieving to know that my children will have 'more' of me. I have been very exhausted the last month or so ...so I know it is time. It felt like I was wearing down to nothing & with my next bi-annual check just around the corner I just could not do it....I feel crappy about not being stronger...I feel soo old now. I pray that I will still be able to provide without the pt$. I now buy health insurance (thanks Shelia for the info)♥

OK - calling all Catholics!
I meet with my new (great - and Catholic!) MO tomorrow. PLEASE kindly pray that he will NOT recommend RT to me! I had a BMX last month, zero BC in the node removed, and only had a microinvasive 1.5mm in the DCIS my BS removed in its entirety! I'm hereby publicly asking for the intercession of Blessed Zelie Martin (mother of St. Therese), who died of BC when St. Therese was 3 yrs of age; also please St. Padre Pio, and the Saints in Heaven (unknown or not) who suffered with BC... last but not least, how about St. Rita of Casia - patroness of "hopeless causes"??
Thank you, dear Catholic BC sisters & friends!!

I LOVE the NEW POPE!!! He has made such a positive impression on everyone even non-catholics!
He is what the church should be all about. I just wish he was younger so that we would have him as Pope for many, many more years to come. I feel that some changes should take place in the Catholic church and I think the Holy Spirit will guide Pope Francis to make the right changes that will allow more people to come back to the church and rejoice in God's Graces.

I remember when I was young and we were talking about getting old and I said to the nun tht if u became a Pope u were going to live a long life cuz that's how it works, really believing that cuz they were al so old and seemed to be Pope for a long time.

St. Peregrine, Pray for us.

It's funny how u form a feeling for a patron Saint. I lways gravitate to St. Jude cuz the nuns would say he's the patron St. of despair, so even when I was younger I guess I thought alot of my life would be in despair and St. Theresa cuz her sttue in our church had her holding flowers, what silly reasons but that's how I thought and since I was afraid of birds St. Francis of Asissi didn't get my attention much. But I still pray to St, Jude always no matter what my or anyone else needs,

Hi Penny, I hope you all had a nice holiday.
The new Pope rocks! I loved the last two Popes, and now we get this great man....just what we need - the right person at the right time to remind us what the church should be focussing on... God bless him and help him in his mission.
Turquoise Blue, God bless you. I hope you don't have radiotherapy, but if you do it may not be that bad...I had 6 weeks and barely knew about it. Let us know how you get on. XXXX

I like him also. Speaking of patron saints, St Michael the Archangel has a special piece of my heart. I just love the thought of him leading God's Army of Angels and kicking demon-butt!
In fact, my church is St Michael's, in Atlantic City. The priest is old school. Love it!

St. Jude Glorious Apostle!!! I love your picture LeeA - how are you doing? I don't come on to BCO too often, and it's hard to catch up once you've been away for a while.

Hi, Linda!
Thanks (re: the photo). It's a wig (of course!!).
How are you doing?
I finished chemotherapy on April 17 and am waiting for my blood counts to be satisfactory enough to have my tissue expanders replaced with new tissue expanders (ugh!) and then I'm moving on to radiation. The process continues!
I hope all is well with you and your family!

Hello all
Some of you will remember that I am on a drug trial. You also may remember that the 1st cycle caused some bad SEs. So we took a break of a week and started back on a lower dose. Well am now in cycle 3 and the SEs are well under control to the extent that I only have to attend the clinic every 2 weeks and can/have booked a holiday to Spain in June.
Towards the end of cycle 2 I had a CT Scan and the results were great. You may remember that I have liver metastasis and some of my lymph nodes are affected. Well the lymph nodes showed shrinkage up to as much as 50%. The 2 biggest tumours in my liver also showed a little shrinkage but as the Onc said because they are so big it will take a while for the drugs to affect them. However he pointed out that normally you are looking at stopping the tumours from growing and shrinkage is a bonus. However the other great thing is the liver tumours are classed as being more necrotic than before i.e. they are showing signs of dying. So you can imagine my delight.
I should add that that this drug only applies to tumours that are HER2+ and/or have another growth factor the name of which I can't remember.
So may I ask you to say prayer of thanksgiving for such good results and that that progress will continue. Also that the research leads to this drug going into cancer clinic pharmacies to aid and benefit those suffering from this accursed disease.
Take care.

Frankh, I'll keep you in my prayers. I'm gaining a great devotion to Blessed Zelie Martin, mother of the Little Flower, St. Therese of Lisieux, herself a victim of breast cancer. I just found out today I may need a 2nd surgery to obtain clear margins to my L chest wall (DCIS with 1.5mm microinvasive IDC within that). Concern is whether I need post-BMX rads - or not. I'm of Irish descent myself, and my dear Nun friends (Sisters of Incarnate Word) are praying for us - they're from Ireland!
God Bless us all in our journey! I heard today from friend at work that our dear Pope Francis will lead the entire world in the Holy Rosary (8:00pm ROME time, tomorrow May 31) from the Vatican, in honor of Our Blessed Lady. Mother most powerful, PRAY FOR US! Amen!
