Laura and all...
Thanks for your prayers. I made it through the weekend. Friday and Saturday were hard days working with my sister-in-law, Lisa, from early morning until dinner. My brother Tom that lives nearby came and helped. My daughter, my brother's wife Liz, and his son pitched in and helped along the way, but it really was Lisa and me that did the brunt of the work. Sunday, Lisa and I went to early Mass and then did some more organizing (no cleaning, though). I finally had to tell her to stop as we had a surprize party for Tom to get ready for that afternoon.
We did an amazing job. There's still more to do, but much of it will have to fall on the two brothers who live with me in the house, as it was their stuff we didn't dare touch. Of course, neither one made himself available this weekend even though this had been planned for about a month in advance. I just hope they are around for garage sale, as we will need some muscle to move things in and out of the sale area.
Jeannine - I hope the rads haven't hit anything seriously. Prayers for a minimal diagnosis.
Mcjonsie and Jan - Prayers for your easy transition from newly diagnosed to actively treating your bc. I will pray that the anxiety most of us felt in that period is spared you...and if you are already feeling it, then I pray you are relieved of it. And a prescription from your md may be the answer to those prayers :-)

Jan508 - We are sorry that you got that call last week, but very happy to have you here with us!
Your diagnosis is actually quite similar to mine. I had ILC, but also with a site of LCIS. The Ki 67 @ 10 % is considered "favorable." The positive ER and PR markers are also good signs. Did they send for Her-2-neu? If positive, that would mean you'd be a candidate for herceptin.
Lobular is a bit tricky - and sneaky - and a lot of docs do chemo automatically, even if your nodes are clear. You'll probably have the sentinel node biopsy done soon, and that will give you more info.
Hope this helps. Praying for you.....and you, too, mcjonsie.....I so remember how scared I was....

Hello to all new Catholic sisters here on the board.
Jeannine so glad to hear from you and have started praying again for you immediately, your body has been through a lot and Rads could be affecting your breathing as well as asthma.
Laura I pray that Taylor is improving in the way he feels and answers are on the way.
MCjonsie- Welcome you have found a warm place here for support. We will be behind you!
Nancy I am glad you made it through the weekend, and ANgel I pray that your brother is doing ok and responding well.
Ladies I havn't had much of a scare since early this year and all was fine then and so I ask for your prayers now as today I had a funky tumor marker value, it was still in normal range but has jumped 2 points each time over last few draws. My Onc pooh poohs it but it scares the heck out of me, as you know the anxiety is just the worst part for me here. My kids started school today and I was taking a huge leap by flying to LA tomorrow as a company wants to hire me as a consultant to ready their company for sale or IPO. I was really starting to feel more confident and peaceful and now this. Again I know it is not huge but as all of you here on Catholics thread know I just really worry and get myself so worked up when tests are off.
Thanks for listening, I am not doing well tonight and need peace and reassurance.
Peace and Prayers to the Blessed Mother to watch over all of you and your families.

Thank you Val for your input. I went to my PCP today and he was very encourging. I'm going for an MRI tomorrow morning and I'm still waiting for an oncologist appointment. I go back to the surgeon on 8/24. In between and after onc appt I plan on getting a 2nd opinion at Duke.
How long were you on chemo and did you have dmx?

jan508 - believe it or not, I did not have chemo. My onc said many other docs would have put me on it, but he believed that the small percentage of gain wasn't worth the risk for me. I didn't have lymph node involvement, though. I did have a bilateral mx - and they did find atypical cells in the contralateral breast, though no CA yet. That's another tricky thing about lobular - it has a strong propensity to go to the other breast - sometimes many years later - but it goes. I just wasn't willing to wait on eggshells for that to happen. And considering the path on the "good" breast, I feel I did the right thing. You'll be in great hands if you're getting another opinion at Duke. Hang in there, sweetie!
Praying for all of your intentions....

Sisters,
I come humbly before you all and ask that you might remember me in your prayers as I ready myself for my lumpectomy tomorrow (Aug 12th). I have to be there early in the morning and will be doing preop and other things before 1:30pm surgery.
I pray that all goes well, there are no complications and that my medical team and surgeon are blessed and skillful in the work they do. I pray for good pathology and that you all my experience the touch of God's healing hand.
St. Peregrine, please pray for me and intercede to God for me...
Thank you,
Tori

Val:
I had my MRI yesterday morning and picked up the CD with the results today. My bc is in my left breast but it says the size is 17mm and 23mm. Also states no axillary involvement or chest wall involvement. Also, right breast was negative. I didn't think they could see axillary nodes or any nodes for that matter on mri.
I see my onc on Monday morning and return to surgeon next friday. The following week I'm seeing an onc and breast surgeon at DUKE.

Sistas,
I got home from my lumpectomy surgery last night and quite frankly, had the best sleep I have had since this whole ordeal began.
I was strangely very calm before surgery and felt blessed that I was able to bless my whole medical team before the surgery began.
My surgeon is confident she got it all and I will have pathologoy results by Monday or Tuesday. So far, no pain meds are needed and that makes me happy, but that my change in time. I"m hoping to just stick with Tylenol though as to avoid any narcotics.
Thank you for lifting me up in prayer and supporting me. It means the world to me.
Please know that I am honored to lift you all up in prayer as well,
Tori
Praise and honor to the Father, The Son, and the Holy Spirit....Thank you St. Jude, St. Rita, St. Raymond, St. Michael, St. Theresa, St. Joseph, St Christopher, St.Faustina, St.Mary, St. Peregrine, and my Guardian Angel for their intercession on my behalf as well....

I pray this novena every day for all those on this site.
I pray that we all find the strength to handle whatever GOD sees to inflict on us for we are STRONG, CONFIDENT and true believers!
I'm scared!!!! This emotional roller coaster is sometimes worse than the disease. The decisions we all have to make every day can seem overhwhelming. I KNOW we all will be just fine.
Remember: GOD WILL NEVER GIVE US MORE THAN WE CAN HANDLE!
I don't know any of you personally but I love you all....GOD BLESS
JAN~
