Paula - it probably wasn't the happiest time in my life but I'm not sure if I was really in distress awake or asleep. Yes, it had and does have a positive effect on me. I sensed that the "person" leading me was not alive, i.e. either someone who was once alive and was helping me through the darkness or an angel. I remember the telepathy happening, but for the life of me, I can't remember what he/she was telling me. I just have a feeling that I don't have to be perfect, nor should I expect others to be perfect. We can't be perfect. But we can be good.
Oh, and thank you for posting the prayer. I wasn't nervous about doing the stress test this Friday until the receptionist was telling me about the injection of "dye". I hate that. I've never reacted to that stuff -- had to have it for various scans after my diagnosis to see if I had mets -- but it just makes me nervous. Plus I'm nervous that they'll find something wrong with my heart. <deep breath - stop the worry> No caffeine beginning tomorrow at 7:30 am!
May the instruments associated with this medical procedure be as your saving hands so that it is you, O Lord, who grants me lasting health. If I suffer, let me suffer along with you, so that these sufferings may be a sign of repentance for my sins, Amen.

Sheila and/or others: DH and I are flying to Seattle for Thanksgiving to visit his Mom, and other family members. Do I need to "worry" about the flight giving me lymphodema? Should I talk to my doctor about a preventative? I had 4 lymph nodes removed.

Sisters - just watched the evening news. My heart is aglow tonight! Nearly all the miners are up now & they showed video as each came out of the capsule. The first thing several of them did was get down on their knees and make the sign of the Cross. Reporter said billions of people all over the world were watching and praying today. The President of Chile was interviewed - he took personal charge of the rescue efforts since day one, calling in other countries & experts around world to do whatever was necessary. He has been there all day (as he has for many days) to greet each miner. He said despite advisors at the beginning telling him there was little to no hope, he said he listened to an 'inner voice' that told him different. When asked what was his biggest lesson learned in terms of managing a disaster- he said faith & hope. (The reporter contrasted Chilean govt response to US govt response to Katrina & oil spill which was interesting.)
Wow Lord, what a wonderful answer to all the prayers from your people on earth. Thank you.

Good evening Sisters,
I am off to swim and pray, and will pop back later, as there have been many posts, and wonderful prayers. I will also say my prayers with Michelle as she prepares for her watch. The miners have shown such strength in spirit, brotherhood and faith. I pray for all to be safe tonight as the rescue mission moves along. We are close now I believe, and they will need good medical and psychological support as they transition back to their lives. No one knows how strong they are until faced with life and death. To hear the President of Chile say he listened to an inner voice is so powerful. God Bless his faith and love of his people. May there by many healers at their sides, seen and unseen, to bring them back to full health.

Good Evening ladies, and praise the Lord the miners are almost all up.. It just goes to show us the power of pray.
Thank you all for your stories and prayers. It just reinforces what we already know, God and his angles are with us at all times.
I work in a Catholic hospital and across the street is a Catholic high school (were my DD went) in there court yard is a grotto of Mother Mary I often go their on my lunch an sit and offer up my prayers for all of us on this Catholic thread. I truly believe Mother Mary intervenes for us through her son Jesus Christ.
I live in Buffalo New York and think it would be great to meet each other, since our bond is so Strong. We would have a great time.

The Nicene Creed....
We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is seen and unseen. We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, one in being with the Father. Through Him all things were made. For us men and our salvation He came down from heaven: by the power of the Holy Spirit, He was born of the Virgin Mary , and became man. For our sake He was crucified under Pontius Pilate; He suffered, died, and was buried. On the third day He rose again in fulfillment of the scriptures: He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son. With the Father and the Son, He is worshiped and glorified. He has spoken through the Prophets. We believe in one, holy, catholic, and apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.

Day 4 (Invocation)
Mary, Mother of Conversion, pray to your Son for the virtue of hope. Pray Him to free us from doubt and to give us the courage of the children of God. Pray that the light of the world may dispel the darkness of our fear, remaking our stony hearts in the image of the Sacred Heart of Jesus your Son.
Refrain: O Lady of Guadalupe, pray for the Church in America and walk with us in the new millennium of faith.
Our Father, 3 Hail Mary's and a Glory be.
Thank you ladies, keep up the prayers, it is amazing how much our hearts and souls open wide when we are in this kind of prayer.

Michelle and all Sisters here,
Thank you Michelle for posting, I will be joining you in prayer this afternoon. I want to ask all Sisters here to please come together in prayer for BcMomOf3 who posted in the Stage IV section that she is coming to an end of treatment therapies, and is asking for a miracle. She is very concerned for her children and husband that they find peace is she passes from her BC. Michelle, if you have room for one more intention, it would mean a lot...my life is stable, so I don't need. Bless you all in advance, and any prayers that You all can post for me to say for this dear lady (her name is Kristin) that will help me direct my prayers will be most welcome. I know there is a lovely prayer for those in treatment, so do we have any for those where treatment is ending?
Thank you all.

I am also asking in advance for prayers tomorrow night, that we have a special prayer of Kristin and her family. This is a time for miracles, and we know God is the one to ask. God is the one who can.
Bless you all.

Sisters,
I am asking for prayers for tomorrow. I go for my 2nd chemo treatment tomorrow at 10:30am CST. I am hoping all goes smoothly. Chances are, that it will since the first went well, but I get myself all crazy with nerves and crazy thoughts...
I pray that SEs will be minimal and tolerable as well. My husband has to go out of town on Sunday until the 29th and since I have no family /friends in the area I would appreciate some prayers that all goes well while DH is gone. I know there are thousands of women that do this everyday by themselves, but I know that I am weak and just knowing that even if you remember me in your prayers just once during this time, I will feel them.
Please know that I lifted you all up this morning in my daily rosary, that you are all comforted, blessed and feel the love of our Lord upon you each day.

Paula: Thank you for for the lymphodema link ... I have some educating to do. I called my PC and she gave me the phone number of the lymphodema clinic at the hospital and they fit patients for sleeves. She wants me to wear one on the flight.
Laura: Thank you for confirming our faith by posting the Nicene Creed. That says it all! How do you know there are lurkers?
Apple/Mary: you are wonderful to offer us up in prayer. :-)
Tori: I will be praying for you tomorrow for successful chemo with little if any SEs. I can understand your nervousness when your husband is away. Know that we will be here praying for you. And thank you for offering us up in your rosary. I did the same! Here's a prayer for you:
O Lord, Jesus Christ, Divine Healer, grant me peace of mind and perfect trust in You in my time of distress. Give me control over my fears. Grant that I may be cooperative and patient with Your Will, trusting that You will restore me to full health.0 -
Traci: Yes for prayers for Kristin. How about these prayers for her: (I couldn't find a end of treatment prayer.)
Almighty and Eternal God,
You are the everlasting health of those who believe in You.
Hear us for Your sick servant (N...)
for whom we implore the aid of Your tender mercy,
that being restored to bodily health,
he (she) may give thanks to You in Your Church.
Through Christ our Lord.
Amen.

Sorry ... two prayers combined into one. The last prayer by St. Augustine starts with "Watch, O Lord..."

Traci - I saw Momof3 thread too. It breaks my heart.
Michelle - thank God for you & the novena.
Prayers for Pat tomorrow that she & her family may be comforted at the funeral service.
Theresa, Ellie, Sheila, Betty, Jan, Apple, Paula & anyone who may drop in to pray with us silently - Lord, gather your daughters in your infinite love and mercy. Give us hope and faith.

Theresa - the prayers you posted really hit the mark tonight. I try so hard to express myself in a prayer but it never feels like enough or what I'm really trying to say!

I just wanted to pop in and report a miracle of sorts. I was wondering how many of you are praying the novena daily? One of the names on the list is "rose" she is my sister's close friend and she discovered a very serious tumor 3 weeks ago on her brain stem (benign) it was growing daily and the only option was immediate surgery (with a huge risk of stroke). The worst did happen and she had a stroke and went into a coma, after 9 days in coma the Doctors gave little hope and her organs began failing. On the fourth day of the Novena she opened her eyes and is totally aware, she is still in dangerous zone, but the fact that she woke up is a miracle.
She is 40 with a young child.
Keep praying ladies.

Tori,
There is a prayer several pages back now I think, that Paula (Diamond Girl) posted, which is a wonderful prayer to take with you to chemo. I will look for it for you. We will be praying for you for a smooth chemo, and that your Guardian Angel to watch over you with great vigilance while your husband is away. This may be a bit to ask, but do you think you could pop online each day or night to let us know you are alright, especially when you husband is gone?
Theresa,
Perfect prayers! I don't know if Paula has been on tonight, but I would love it for us to use your two prayers tomorrow night after the St. Peregrine prayer for any and all to join in on our Friday night prayers.
Michelle,
I am praying your prayer every day. Your story of Rose hits home, my father had a benign tumor in the brain stem. I will pray for Rose, this must be so very difficult. May we give special attention to Rose, Kristin, and Jeannine tomorrow? For our Sisters who are having very difficult medical issues?
I also want to remember Pat, as you all have as well, to help her as she mourns the passing of her brother.

MMM.......... I AM DOING THE NOVENA... WOW... AWESOME...
Theresa..... I/we know there are lurkers... because of the number of.... hits this thread gets... it gets A LOT! WHICH IS SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO great. It can ONLY bring others in to pray with us..... bring others back to the Church....... and hopefully... even teach others... who are not Catholic... that the stereotypes about us are WRONG. We do NOT ask Mary to forgive our sins..... we do not think being drunk is fine....... we do not push child abuse, at the hands of a priest. under the table......... etc.... blah blah.....
Having Lurkers... to me..... is a VERY good thing...... and I always say a little hello to anyone lurking....... so they know I welcome them to talk/pray with us... or just.... lurk and hang with us.... it is ALL good.......! When Jesus Christ is the boss........ ALL IS GOOD!
Thank you for asking that question.... !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Estepp,
I can testify that I have learned much about the grace of Catholicsm by meeting and praying with you all. It has been incredibly uplifting for my spirit. You all walk the walk, and that is a sincere compliment from me.

I don't know how many times I have said this before, but sincerely, "you all amaze me and humble me...you make me want to be a better person because of all that you do for others in all your works and prayers"...
Thank you,
