JoC - good to hear from you. Won't even mention the lack of visits from you know who! Glad that you are able to get through the tx with a bit less drama than the first go round.
Can't imagine trying to wade through a 10 page path report - yikes.
Are you gonna rock the bald or do you have wigs/scarves? Either way I am sure you will rock it!

Joc- My path report is 12 pages so I know what you mean. I don't even look at it anymore it's so dam ugly.
You have a great smile in your picture.
I was just noticing that you didn't have any positive nodes and yet barsco had 21. I had 17/17. This whole node thing bothers me. I don't think it should have as much weight with the doc's as they say it does. It gives women a wrong sense of relief when they say you are fine because it's not in your nodes.

Mame, never worry about posting a lot..that's why we're here, right? Good luck with the onco test.
HNS... I loved when my parents got together with my aunts and uncles and listened to the classics. All in suits and dresses, all drinking and smoking, and eventually they'd wind up dancing. And I have one of those pics of them at the Latin Casino in NJ...I think for Sinatra. Classic table shot.
Jo, hope you continue to feel well hon.
Eli, speaking of feeling well, how's the appetite these days?0 -
PS...hoping Barbe chimes in herself, but she has been posting to FB so presumably ok.

Don't know why Barbe has not been on here. Know she posted on some board I was reading in the last day or 2. I wonder if this fell off her favorites list
Jo - sorry to hear the dragon visited but glad he is gone for now. That is one thing I've never heard it called.
Liefie - great about the no news mammo. The best kind. Enjoy your trip.
Welcome Mame - This is a friendly bunch. Don't worry about being chatty. Nobody's counting words or the # of posts. Just glad you found us.
Eli - How are you feeling these days?
Heartnsoul - I had never really listened to Glow Worm just toe tapping along with it. It's really cute.
Well, after a mammo 2 weeks ago had visit with BS today. Like the radiologist, she told me everything looks fine and she'll see me in 6 months. I have managed to get the MO and BS appts too close together. I think it was the MO delayed an appt for something. Anyway we moved BS appt to the end of August. Sounds like forever far away right now but have MO in June. Don't have anything now until the end of Feb then go the internist and glaucoma dr. Then the only thing left if the gyn which I will put off until March. I might have serious shopping withdrawal at this rate with no trips to the big city but DH would think I would be saving money. But --- I might get rescued if I go to visit my DD across town.
Hope everyone had a good night.

elimar... I have seen Barbe on facebook

I had thought thought about Barbe about the same time you did, Eli~. I thought she may have been put in the "time out chair" again, but she is posting on other threads. She hasn't been on the threads I usually meet up with her on though.

LOVE, LOVE THAT T-SHRT!

I second that emotion (on the shirt) Meece! The t-shirt of my mind sez. "I just don't have the time for all this cancer-y business."
Cynthis56, welcome! You are so newly diagnosed, just let us know if we can provide you with info. or support. We've been known to "jump into your pocket" and go along to things like SNBs and surgeries and I see you have that coming up. Just be warned that we do sometimes leave snack crumbs behind in the pocket, or the suspiciously orange residue of Cheetos fingers...which is an incredibly small price to pay considering the monumental support you will feel by having us along.

Thank you so very much..........and I love Cheetos!

How about, "I'm still here! Deal with it!!" But I love the missing person shirt, wouldn't mind having one of those.

Eli~ this is part of my ct scan results...
1. Interval development of multiple hypodense lesions in the liver consistent with metastasis.
2. Few enlarged peri portal lymph nodes largest 16mm concerning for metastasis.
3. Discrete nodule in the right adrenal which is likely stable most consistent with a benign adenoma.
There's multi lesions with measurements etc., I saw that cute dragon you posted....he sure looks nicer than the one that came to visit me!! I think it's safe to say.....he didn't visit today!!!!!!!! I know, it's early but hey...gotta have hope lol!
Luvmygoats its really called dragon's breath! Which my wonderful hubby (you know he loves you when) he offered to blow on my ass...LOLOLOL! As if THAT would spread my legs LOLOL! He's still wishin...
Dianarose I think we're all to concerned about nodes...nobody ever mentioned vascular!
Barb, rock the scarves lol! I'm cuter fatter! I'm not liking this look . Jim had me buzz his so we could be twins...ha...that boy sure tries hard LOL!0 -
JoCanuck--YOU GO GIRL! What a memory to keep about what sounds like a pretty great husband!

JoC, I must have been thinking about that adrenal nodule...well, you got some good news on that, at least. Where are the peri-portal lymph nodes located? Hopefully the Herceptin does its job and those measurements start shrinking.
That smiling dragon at the top (if that is the one you mean) is our thread reminder for reesie, a sister who passed last summer. Racing dragonboats was one hobby of hers, something she did with family and good friends. The orange flowers are for PauldingMom and the heart-shaped cookies are for Marybe. The Cheetos pic need no explanation.

Eli, apparently they're situated around the portal vein of the liver....hummm..that's why my onco said I was inoperable, my liver is full and watching lymph nodes now....well, I'm not gonna watch! So that must be why the Abraxane (dragons breath) is causing me distress, my liver is sick.
The lady next to me during infusion has lung cancer, (my age) she has weekly Taxol plus other stuff (which almost killed me) and it's a breeze for her no se's. Her's is small cell lung cancer and she's quite confident she will beat it. She smoked 46yrs, hey, I'm no angel I smoked 43, hardest thing I ever did was quit. Anyways, she looks good!
I'm happy that we remember our sisters.....I'm already jealous of old folks. Xoxoxox0 -
JoC- you are right about the vascular. My MO never metioned it to me either. I was too stressed out to make any sense of my 12 page report and I couldn't bring myself to pull it out again, so I asked him last week and sure enough I have vascular invasion. Even when I went for a 2nd opion in Boston all he concentrated on was the positive nodes.
Eli- how are you feeling now you are done with treatments? You seem to still have the same spark that you always have. We love your spark.

Oh lordy, Elimar! You're sparkly and glowing! That sounds like a fire hazard to me. I prescribe a hot tub for all! YAY!
Actually, I've been thinking about getting one this summer BUT might have to wait until next summer. I'm tired of waiting for things I want - I'm not getting any younger.
I think I need to start driving over the county line to this Texaco gas station/food mart that apparently has a winning streak on lottery numbers. Sigh...so much trouble. Not really, but of course the odds are lousy. Must weigh pros and cons.
JoC - your treatments sound hellish! I hope you will be through soon, and yes, your husband sounds like a swell guy to offer to blow on your butt - LOL! The buzz cut avatar is looking good!
Funny, when I saw that "missing" t-shirt I had just been thinking about taking some money out of the bank and driving away. I've wanted to do that since I was a teenager. Now that I'm getting older and crazier, I think I'm getting more inclined to actually do it - haha. I wonder why we all have that urge? Of course, it comes and goes but there have been some women brave enough to do it. As a teenager, I got too logical and was afraid I'd get raped. Now, I think it's just not as safe as it used to be. Maybe I could do it with a partner in crime...

Welcome Cynthia56 - Wishing you the best of luck with your upcoming surgery. I have no issues with ditching work to take part in a pocket party (PP). Glad you found this wonderful group of ladies. And it is definitely a bonus that you are a cheetos fan

So I've almost got "Sunshine of Your Love" by Cream memorized (basic notes mind you, not chords, etc) How's all the rest of the Hobknobbing Heads doing?
0 -
Oh, no Eph! You're way ahead of me! I still have to get my practice drum set - I better get on the stick (haha). It's just that it costs $180 and it's really hard to pull that kind of money from my hands! You've got some great songs in your repertoire, by the way.

I still haven't aquired a guitar yet either. Just learned that my sister has one lying around. Might be able to get started sooner than I thought.

I don't play a musical instrument and my singing sux, so I will just provide the snacks and beverages if that's okay???

Snacks and beverages always welcomed. Plus in the virtual world we can do anything!

I`m going to take a chance and jump in here. Missed about 8 pages...so sorry if I missed someone`s pain or anguish! I will be missing again for 3 days next week while I stay in Toronto when my sister comes in from Portland, Oregon and we stay with our step-mom. Glad to hear you are done treatment elimar, and Jo-C, sounds like you got some answers finally. What is this hobknobbing stuff?????

Oh, hi Barbe! You popped in one day early. (That is a Groundhog's Day joke, hehe.) The thread now has a virtual band, The Hobnobbing Heads. Eph's got a few chords down and heartnsoul will be hittin' the skins. So if you have any musical ability (or aspiration,) you're in. I'm shakin' a tambourine (and probably my moneymaker as well.) Sounds like you have a nice visit lined up next week.
Speaking of GROUNDHOG"S DAY...why that would just be the PERFECT day for any and all of our LURKERS out there to poke their heads in here and say hello, don't you think?
A few have asked how I'm doing now...and the answer is much better. My appetite is coming back. I can eat most things but still have a mental aversion to some things and for some reason, the metallic taste is still lingering in my mouth a little bit. I gained a pound or two, but to do that I really had to stuff myself to get the very full feeling, and I just can't do that at every meal. I don't like some cooking smells and a few times have passed on dinner because of the smell. My bowels are working great. So regular and great that it is going to be a shame to cut into them and create franken-colon because I fear they will never work as well again after that. I'm not too nervous yet about surgery (won't know when that is til next week) but something has thrown me back into my terrible sleep pattern, waking several times a night to the point that I'm back on the couch watching those Law & Order reruns (although if I can find a whole string of House, M.D. shows, I might put that on instead, since the fact that I have seen those multiple times is just as relaxing as all the L&O shows.) I hope to improve that by getting back on my supplements (Calc+mag+Vit. D.) Energy level coming back slowly. Don't tell. I'm keeping that a secret so I don't have to vacuum. Well, there you have it. I'm almost to a point where I don't feel cancer-y again, but then I give mysef a pinch to quit dreaming because I am not even half way through this yet. Arrrrrgh!

Wasn't it a couple of years ago on Groundhog's day that the pink dog became a bit more human for awhile? I still remember the pic, just not the occasion~

That groundhog ate an entire snack size bag and it was summer too! Not like it just crawled out of the hole in the Spring...piggy!
