Life After Hysterectomy, Mastectomy and Anastzole
A little back story. I was diagnosed at the age of 41 with ER+ Invasive Ductal Carcinoma in 2018. I had a lumpectomy, 33 radiation treatments and then took Tamoxifen religiously for 4 years. Just when I was starting to feel back to myself and like I had this thing beat, I found out almost 4 years to the day that it came…

Middle Aged Memories
Let's see, so far we've reminisced about dittos, drive in theaters, lick-a-stick candy, five-and-dime stores, Donny Osmond, Dark Shadows, what have I missed?

Stressful event years before diagnosed?
Did you have a super stressful event sometime in the seven years or so before you got diagnosed? How many years before was it? I'm just wondering if there is some connection with this. A researcher told me he believes it starts from stress about seven years before.

MIDDLE-AGED WOMEN 40-60ish
This thread was created for "middle-aged" women. At the time, we didn't have our own category on the pull-down Forum menu. The ages 40-60 in the header are unofficial--we don't "card" anyone, (wink, wink) --- so if you are close in age it's meant for you as well. We aren't young with small children. Many of us have just…

Ladies in their 40s
Hello All, I just wanted to start a new thread for ladies in their 40s. Although we are considered "middle aged," many of us are still dealing with issues concerning young women, such as fertility, pre-menopausal status and related treatment decisions, young children at home, being single etc. Both younger ladies (in their…

Need help in making decision on starting AI and ovarian suppression vs Tamoxifen alone
Im ER+, PR+, HER-, Stage 1 ,grade 2, 1 lymph node, post double mastectomy with oncotype of 12. The oncologist said my risk of recurrence is 13% and will go down by 2.3% if I do Chemo or take Anastrazole with ovarian suppression. As an alternative I can take Tamoxifen. I declined Chemo as 2.3% seems not significant to go…

I cannot believe what I have just been through with our local hospital
In Feb I found a lump in my breast and went to a bulk billing GP to ask for a3D mammogram as I had been told in the past that I had a dense breast tissue and it was hard to read. At this stage it was offered re bulk billing in 2 imaging services in Townsville 2 days a week. I 1st asked the GP for a blood test form as the…

Anastrozole tablets - teva vs accord healthcare?
Hi! I've been taking anastrozole (generic arimidex) since the first week of April. The hot flashes are awful!!! The current prescription has been manufactured by Teva and from what I have gathered from reading on here, this is probably the preferred manufacturer? I just switched drug stores and now have received my…

Hormontherapy choices for premenopausal women
MO has given me a choice between tamoxifen and ovarian suppression injection with AI. I am 44 and was premenopausal before chemo. It's been almost two months post chemo and I haven't had a period yet. MO recommends starting with ovarian suppression + AI because it lowers reoccurance, but noted it doesn't improved overall…
