3rdtime, Well, if you have an RO saying one thing and a surgeon saying another, time to bring in a "tie-breaker" third doc and let's hope he doesn't come up with a third totally different conclusion.  That's my way of saying, yes, do get one more set of eyes to look at your scans.  Isn't it incredible what we are asked to "o.k." to be done to our bodies when the doctors are really just taking a guess?(*)  I guess the good thing is that your cancer appears to be the very slow growing time, allowing you to time to get things straight and think the decision over.

(*)  Granted, their guesses are educated ones, but why so contradictory?

Eph, Last time, your brow tatts got other interested, so by all means post your touch up.  (My header pic was for all the moms that had to be both mother and father, for Father's Day.)

Thanks ladies, this is all so frustrating, I was able to get an appointment with a very highly recommended surgeon in another city, for tomorrow, but She is out of network so if she suggests more surgery I will have to pay 24 thousand dollars before the insurance kicks in, I am retired, but not yet 65, my husband and I have catastrophic insurance, I guess 24 thousand 25 cents would be catastrophic. Who can afford to get sick in this country? I miss the days when insurance actually covered something.

3rdtimenow-boy howdy girl.  My company (under 50 employees) informed us all mid to late April that effective June 1, they were no longer carrying health insurance for us as the current premium, per employee, was doubling!  So I am now a member of a "non-insurance, bill sharing" outfit & indeed, it will kick in only when I have an "incident" that is a thousand dollars or more.  No prescription coverage, etc.  I went with this because the cheapest insurance I could get with my age (turning 60 reallllllly soon) I would have had to pay $400 per month & have a $5250 deductible.  No thanks.

I've been doing that mom/dad gig pretty much since Jan 16, 1996, but officially since Feb 29, 2004.

And lastly, hand on leg-BIG NO-NO.

I just saw where the US is behind 13 other industrialized countries in health care. I know and have worked with Norwegians for the past 4 years. They don't worry about anything.  The UK was number 1.

We don't get prescriptions (until 65) or eyeglasses free, but surgeries and all doctors are "free". We do pay a lot of taxes though, but our streets are clean and safe, too. Canada. Some physio (if in hospital) is free, but not chiropractic or massage. I'd gamble to say that if the government made massage free that they'd have less ER visits for headaches, backaches and stress!

Eph, I can see the individual hairs!  Just from this view, it really does not look too dark and it will fade a bit anyway, right?.  If you had it much lighter, it would look washed out.  All in all, with your own brow hairs showing, I think it is a natural look, like if you used a bit of pencil to shape them.

I have white hair with a few remaining faint dark brown streaks. 75% of my eyebrows remain very dark but good golly those white ones are buggers. I darken the ends down some. Joni - I bet with your glasses on they look stunning.

That is my next project. I need to get on Zenni and figure out how to order glasses. I have these from last year from Eyemasters I don't like. I can no longer afford the ones from my optometrist - yee gads. Anyway have new Rx for lenses. Put on an old pair to go out with DH to do some yard stuff and darn it if they weren't better than the current ones. Was actually kinda hoping my cataracts were getting "riper" - nope not a chance anytime soon.

my own hairs in my eyebrows are practically see thru, but you might be seeing them as 3-D effect.  The tattoo includes tattooed individual hairs.

Well I feel a little better tonight, I was able to see doc for 2nd
opinion today. She is in absolute agreement with my own surgeon and
feels that the doctor who did my 2nd MRI is top notch and she would
agree with her findings, she said that more surgery is not only, not
necessary but would muddy the waters for the follow up MRI. She does not
believe anything will show up, but to have another MRI in six months,
just because it's protocol. Had my PET today, MO tomorrow, I hope he
will have the results and I will find out if I need chemo, hope not. I
will definitely need 33 radiation treatments. Thanks, Ladies

3rdtime, good for you for pursuing the issue!!! 6 months is certainly long enough to wait to see if there is any marked difference. As well, wouldn't the PET pick anything up? You must feel so much better now that your thinking has been validated with TWO doctors who you respect!

Yes, Barbie thanks, I do feel better the surgeon said she would be even more encouraged if there was nothing on the PET. Hope my MO has those results today.

We are waiting right along with you, 3rdtime.  What will determine if you need chemo?  Did you have the OncotypeDx test?

Hi Elemer, clear margins and small cancer so chemo is not necessary, I will start 33 treatments of radiation in a couple of weeks and go on Aremedex after that. Thanks for the support.

    good morning all!

Pretty challenging week with tummy issues after third round of chemo the week before. Ugh!  Interestingly I've been through similar bouts prior to diagnosis as everything tends to hit my stomach

Now I'm left with an abdomen that still feels a bit off - sensitive I guess - and a bit of discomfort in my lower back. When I sit back it almost feels like I'm pressing against concrete

My tongue has gone from dry to cardboard to a burning sensation but not too bad

I think that my eyebrows and arm hair is starting to fall out but hair grows on my knees!  Too funny !

Hubby and I are going to orillia this weekend. Going to see the comedian that plays mike in mike and Molly at casino Rama. Hoping for some good laughs and weather

    Have a great day all!!!

Nothing slows you down does it, F-nut?  You go, girl!

3rdtime,  Anytime someone can skip out on doing the chemo is an occasion for...

(I notice I tend to usually write it as the chemo.  It's just my habit, I think.)

Amen! Just peeking in after being away for over a year. I have joined the Stage 4 club, to my shock and amazement, but am bucking up and getting used to the new life bit by bit. I am so happy to see some familiar names here, and the usual dependable brand of wit and wisdom. Hope to contribute to both, over time.

Hugs to all, Mame from Maine

MameMe, I am sorry to hear that about you,  I see they have you on the Taxol...with a little luck the mets will start to disappear.  Is your vision affected with the eye mets?  (I mean, I know you can read a computer screen, but did you have symptoms to tell you something was up with the eyes?)  Do let us know how it is going with you.  You know I like all stages to post on this thread, and now I follow the Stage IV gals with a new interest since my BFF IRL turned Stage IV a year ago.  One more question:  do they know if it is you 2003 BC or your 2012 BC that has recurred?  Not that treatment would be different.  I am just curious.
