Thanks for all the commiseration ladies.  Good news is I'm really not very sore at all.  I have a little out of the ordinary tightness at the base of my neck.  I think the fact that I didn't have time to tense up helped.  Got in 3.25 miles walk/run on the treadmill (cut it a bit short today to get the one remaining vehicle to DH so he could drop me at work).

Love reading everyones workouts, anecdotes and experiences, just don't have time to compose the responses I'd like to lately.

Sweet - so glad you're feeling OK.  I bet your time on the dreadmill helped keep you from getting too stiff.  Ruth - I'm glad your friend has decided to get completely checked out for those fainting spells.  Scary!  Two - had to laugh about your teen and the hoodie - what is it with the hoodies and shorts on these teens, even in the dead of winter???  Snooze  Odie - congrats on the good WW weigh in!

30 minutes weights and core this morning.  We actually made it into double digits - 10 degrees this morning!!!

    Subbed today.

ACHOO.....a cold has caught up to me; so I am eating oranges, drinking water, sucking vitamin C drops etc. I think I will give in tonight; lie low and go to bed early.

No real exercise for me today. Ruth got me sick.  Ha ha.  Horrible headache all day, stuffy nose, ear hurts a little.  All I want to do is eat oranges and chicken soup and curl up in a blanket.

Ruth and Twohobbies, hope you feel better soon. Be good to yourself and enjoy some extra rest.

Kicked up the exercise today. Rode 20 minutes/5 miles on the bike, completed 30 minutes on the Elliptical plus some toning and weights.

hi all and welcome Bounce.  Got to the track after work tonight and walked for an hour.  Logged 16.4 km = 10.2 miles since last post.  There's so much going on!  Ruth, LOL at the pic of the cat doing downward dog.  ♥

Need to make dinner.  Busy day with a break to get an old crown redone.  I followed that by a 3 mile brisk walk (prior to anesthesia wearing off).  State business taxes e-file and grant upload.  I can't begin to think of what else I knocked off.

I am drinking wine right now.  Think chicken francese for dinner.  Really simple and delish.

Asparagus was on sale and bought some, as need a break from cabbages and kin. - Claire

Sweet, glad you are OK!  LB, way to go with your pink pilates program.  Claire, hope the old crown redone doesn't give you too much pain.  I thought that was a headstand, badger.

Did some hot kettlebells. That is, I filled up the bathtub with hot water to heat up the bathroom and worked out there. I moved to the bedroom when I got too hot.

Ruth and Two - feel better.  Claire - hope the crown re-do goes well.  Heidi - fun idea for your hot kettlebells!  Ruth - we got our schedule for our Nats tickets, and on Sunday July 20th, the giveaway is a Denard Span bobblehead.  We don't need two of them, so how about if we ship the other one off to you?  Happy

Half hour dreadmill run after work, then 2 mile round trip walk to our favorite Mexican restaurant last night (and yes, we ate the free dessert the owner gave us, thereby undoing the good of all that exercise!).  30 minutes elliptical this morning.

Freestyle step and body balance at the gym this morning.

If you think the dreadmill is boring then try what I've been doing for the last week while I've been waiting for my WBCs to return to normal -  The super fun hour long running up and down the stairs in my house routine.  It really is good exercise but it gives a whole new meaning to boring.

This is such an active thread I can't keep up!!  I did my 6am 60 minute F.A.S.T. class today.  I will say that I've been very consistent since the first of the year with 3 group classes a week and treadmill walk/run the other 3 or 4 days, and I'm seeing the effects.  Slacks are a little looser and tummy is a bit tighter and I just feel stronger.....YAY!!

Mary, I would be delighted to take the extra Denard off your hands! SillyHeart

'Slept' in the recliner all night (between sneezes). This morning I am full of water, coffee, and oranges & am going to go try Yoga again.

I added an Alka-Seltzer Plus to the mix, so managed to make it through the class without being too disruptive to the peaceful repose of others.

    * edited to add that I just 'got' the sneeze comment......I think you are more dehydrated when you are under-the-weather.....so my few sneezes did not cause that sort of disruption! Loopy

whew! Trying to catch up! Sweet, so glad you are safe!

Warrior, I've been bored on the stairs this week, too.

We have "the cold" in our house too....so far I've fought pretty hard, but with DH hacking in his sleep in my direction??? Ugh!

Looking forward to my bike tomorrow.

Here's a thought to keep us going:

The nasty cold has invaded my house too. DH has it so it looks like soup for dinner tonight. Funny since it was 50 degrees here today which is about 45 degrees warmer than the past two days....LOL

Workout today included 20 minutes on the Elliptical plus some toning/abs work.

    Happy Friday ladies.

Researched exercised and it's correlation to cancer prevention - I want to know more than just it is good for you, etc.  I like to know the scientific details.  Here is a short article about exercise and cell death during and after exercise.  Thought it would add to the voices!  Go get 'em.  PS - I researched this because I was wondering if my vigorous workouts were putting too much stress or inflammation on my body.  This short article said that exercise does not really have a pronounced inflammatory response - that was good to know.  Here you go and Happy Friday Ladies!
