Ginger, congrats on the weight loss!
Momwriter, thanks for the link to the yoga videos. I like to do my yoga at home when it is convenient for me. I try to sneak in 30 minutes when I get home from work while DH is finishing putting dinner together (I admit, I am spoiled that I don't have to do that when I get home. Besides, he is a much better cook than I am).
Did 6K on the rowing machine yesterday and today. I am a little concerned, though, that I may be getting some lymphedema from the erg machine. My BS had warned me against it due to repetitive upper body motion. I try to wear my compression sleeve but still get some strange sensations in the back of my arm and the upper side of my chest. I still don't have normal sensation after my BMX so it's hard to tell what it feels like. I'm not particularly noticing any swelling but I am making sure to monitor what is happening. When we are able to row on the river I don't seem to have an issue because we usually row in short sections at a time and then rest while others in the boat row. Guess I need to do some more research.
Looking for snow tonight and tomorrow...stay warm and dry everyone!

Got a 2 mile run in this morning followed by a 4 mile hike with DH through the canyon. Unfortunately, I've been up since 3:45 and am now dragging......

Walked an hour and two minutes. The extra two minutes were trying to find where I parked my car!

Very mild here so got in a 35 mile bicycle ride. This included a stop by the farm-to-table place so picked up a dozen eggs and 2 frozen chickens, one of these for my birthday dinner. Tail was dragging by the time I finished the ride, but great fun. Saw two flocks of trumpeter swans in temporary ponds in the very wet fields.
I thought it very funny that a horse I saw during my travels was standing there facing the sun, eyes closed, with much the same blissful expression I have on a day like today.
I STILL have to do regular food shopping, but think I will vacuum my carpet while the sun is still out. Then a trip to the bath tub as covered in mud and sand.
But what an amazing day! - Claire

60 minutes fast walking on the treadmill with intermittent jogging followed by 20 minutes on the exercise bike. I love how much time I have at the gym on the weekends!
We are in a blizzard warning from tomorrow evening till Wednesday so I am going to hit the gym before work in the morning. We might get over 30 inches.

Way to go on the weight loss Ginger. That is fantastic!
Welcome Now.
Sundays are normally my one rest day per week however I decided to do some at home videos . 20 minutes kickboxing, 20 minutes Pilates and 15 minutes stretching. In addition to wrestling the clean sheets back on the bed.
We are expecting snow tonight into tomorrow but luckily nowhere near what the Northeast is going to get. Hope everyone in the storm path stays safe, hunkers down and doesn't overdo it shoveling.
Happy Sunday all.

1/25- been working on my house with the completion of the reno and putting rooms back together (which means a lot of moving, lifting, etc. so I am for sure exercising!)
However, today I eased up and did some easier things around home and that allowed me to get to the gym for a nice long work out-50 min resistance training and 40 laps/min in the pool. And then a nice soak in the hot tub after!
Inspired- loved the photo of the food you posted the other day. Looks lite and delicious.

hi all, we got a dusting of snow, maybe an inch. Was pretty enough to lure me outside for a walk once people had a chance to clear off their sidewalks. We may get another inch tomorrow but nothing like the Northeast. Batten down the hatches and stay safe everyone! ♥

Finished painting the livingroom and decided to go ahead and start painting the entry way and hall. Great upper body work.

A little shoveling in the morning & pilates in the afternoon. Tomorrow DH & I take off for a week in Arizona. All we have to do is get there. The good friends we stay with do all the planning, organizing, chauffeuring .....it is quite heavenly as I am usually the psycho-planner for trips. I will report back during the week.....which will hopefully include lots of walking around outside in the warm sun!0

Jazzy loved the photo. LARock a couple of my friends hiked Runyon yesterday and ran into Justin Bieber of he was surrounded by his 'peeps' but they took photos anyway. Wonderland you opened a can of worms when you decided to 'freshen up' a room and today at my gym the Girl Scout cookies were brought in, oh my you know me and my sweet tooth!!!! Glad you are enjoying the Combat tapes Ruth. Patoo I am terrible at cleaning these days, I start in one room then I go into another room and see something there and start doing that then I might pick up a catalog or a magazine and start reading so I'll spend 4 hours doing what should have taken me 2..... To add insult to injury my washing machine broke down and so I had to go to the laundromat today, my neighbor offered to let me use her machine but I didn't wash last week so I had 6 loads and I didn't want to impose.
Went for physical therapy for my plantar fasciitis on Friday, went in with pain level at 2, came out with pain level at 6
Did go to Spin class yesterday and this morning did Body Pump, it is so warm here I actually didn't even wear a jacket to the gym this morning and best of all my Vietnamese friend brought me home made food mmmmmmm it was so good, Have fun in Arizona Ruth and all you East Coasters take care this storm looks bad, Patoo I hope you don't have to go to work tomorrow0 -
danced for two hours today on the deck with two of my crazy cousins. We are learning a dance routine for super bowl Sunday.

Welcome Now14 and I don't see a link? Ruth, reads as a terrific, relaxing time in the sun-enjoy!
I was busy all weekend with all day meetings for a charity I serve with, including long distance drives. Sorry to say not much exercise for me, yet with outpatient surgery on my lefty last Friday, I've needed the down time. Been a bit ouchie, swollen and somewhat tight feeling. Self care is what I want and need to heal properly. Having said that, did just finish scrubbing our 3 bathroom sinks and toilets also running a load of wash. Not in incapacitated, just being sensible-what works best for me and hopefully mid week back at some of my usual, daily workouts.
All of you in severe storm areas, stay safe and have a good start to the week everyone!

Walked around the stores yesterday picking up a few things we needed, including anything we needed for preparing for the blizzard tommorrow. Had to buy new boots for winter. Went to Walmart and couldn't find any. So it was off to the mall. Went to Famous Footwear, none. Next stop was Payless, none in my size. So I finally went to a store called Shoe Dept. Encore. Finally was successful in my search. Got my new boots and for a good price!
Looks like tommorrow I'll be breaking them in as I help hubby with the snow shovelling and getting my last bit of good excercise before my surgery on Thursday!

Good luck to everyone bracing for storms! I walked about 1.7 miles with a friend today. Probably in the low 70s here, and I had to take my sweatshirt off while we were walking.

Whew - had a busy weekend decluttering. Took 3 carloads of stuff to the dump and two carloads to donate to a local thrift shop that supports low cost spay/neuter. Lots of upper body work! Five mile run late yesterday afternoon - getting in a run before the storms. We're just on the southern tip of it - all you gals further north be safe!!!

I went to the gym at 6 this morning and did 50 min on the treadmill before work. It started lightly snowing mid-morning and it is coming down harder now. We are expecting 30+ inches and 50mph winds...yikes!

Hi all. Made it to gym yesterday. Went to work today but left about 2:30 although it wasn't too bad yet. Weatherpersons just as confused as the rest of us and keep changing so now I can expect anywhere from 8-24 inches with heaviest 4am-11am. Exec order to stay off roads from 10pm. It is icy out there and very windy so even with only a little snow now it is still hazardous.
I had internet problems earlier so did not get in any exercise today but expect to get plenty tomorrow with shovel and sculpt.
Night sculpted friends.

Thanks for the good vibes on my scans. I got more details as well as a megadose of Vitamin D yesterday from my onc. A thyroid nodule which they've been monitoring is shrinking. The bad news is I don't get to switch to tamoxifen yet. So more joint pain and stiffness while doing Bodyjam, and that is a bummer.
We have just a sprinkling of snow here in comparison with what others are getting. I did have the pleasure of having DD do some Shovel 'n Sculpt. DH has the flu and is excused.
Stay safe, everyone, exercising or not!
