45 mins shovel and sculpt this afternoon. Got only about 6 inches and it was pretty light lifting; also not really very cold.

Guess it's back to work tomorrow but they are predicting more by Friday I think - we'll see.

    Night sculpted friends.

1/27- nice end of the day walk for 30 minutes. Tomorrow, back to the gym once again and doing my first monthly check in with the personal trainer for the new year. Will see if I have improved, lost, or stayed the same with my fitness (my guess is the last one!)

We got about 6 inches here, just east of Pittsburgh, PA. I had every intention of exercising when I got home from work tonight but had a delay because of car trouble. Almost lost a wheel......yikes! Had to pull over and wait for DH to come and fix me up. I guess the lugnuts were coming loose on the one wheel. So I got home late and did not really have time. BUT I have started using the steps a lot more at work. It kills my knee when going down the steps but I am doing it. They are not particularly convenient with the layout of our building (they are fire stairwells away from the elevators) but even doing one flight at a time is better than nothing.

Am planning to GYFAOOBAR (our acronym for "get your fat a$$ out of bed and row") in the morning since I didn't get to it tonight. I have my virtual rowing team to answer to, our challenge ends on Saturday.

On a positive note, with the holidays over and my eating back on track (planning meals and taking lunch to work), my weight is back close to what it was before the holidays started. That made me happy this morning when I got on the scale!

3 miles on the elliptical and 15 minutes on the rowing machine VERY carefully as I don't want to hurt my TE again. But I seriously need core work...

A foot of snow here but DH and kids did the shoveling lol.

No exercise for me today as I wasn't really feeling up to it. Listened to my body and took a rest day. Will change up my routine tomorrow to make up for missing bootcamp tonight.

No exercise for me lately due to having a virus since late last week. Am finally feeling a little better and logged on to catch up on the posts. Everyone has been so busy!

Wonderland - congrats on all your painting!! I am hoping to paint one of the bathroom's next week.

Cheryl - I can relate to your cleaning distractions...sometimes it can be a challenge!

Mommyof2 - Good luck with your surgery on Thursday!

Aurora: Glad you had a good Livestrong session today.

Mel: Hope you start feeling better soon.

    Jazzy: Too funny!

Ruth: Have a great trip and soak in the sun!

No snow shoveling for me. Still painting. I started late today and only had the trim to complete. Lots of trim! Dd helped me. Only one little part left and I'm leaving that for dh!

Nice neighbor Cheryl. Hoping everyone else who is snowbound or facing more stormy weather is snug and safe. I see you made it dry, sunny climes Ruth.

Yoga with son last night and felt a pull in area that is healing-my bad. I'll chill today with studying and household chores.

Was a bit sore on Tuesday from TRX. So took the day off and soaked in an Epsom salt bath. Today early spin class, followed by barre and restorative yoga.

Woke up VERY sore after rowing yesterday but as the day goes on I feel ok with no muscle relaxers or anything...

Going to a winemaking session tonight so will have a chance for wine therapy and dinner lol...

Feeling like I'm pushing a little too hard so only 2 miles today. Epsom salt bath sounds fabulous.

No school for 2 days; we got 33 inches of snow! So grateful we did not lose power. I did not have to shovel at all. My DH used the snowblower to dig us out. I just helped clean off cars. Shoveling aggravates my lymphedema.

I did 50 minutes on the elliptical in our basement on Tuesday and was able to get to the gym today for an hour on the treadmill and 20 min on the bike.

I love cooking when it is snowy out so I made a pot of chili and baked a chicken.

1/28- I met with my personal trainer today, with my new schedule to check in with her once a month now as I continue on since we wrapped up our 4 months of training together in late December. The good news was my work out with her went well, she said I am still doing well, core is good, etc.

We also did measurements and I have lost another inch the past month around my waist (now down 6 inches!) and another 1% of internal body fat. So my work outs are still helping me to get rid of the fat. I am going to make some changes to the diet next to drop more pounds.

Ruth- are you in Scottsdale? I think I have been to that nature preserve; that picture looks very familiar. I have another recommendation for you if you are there, so let me know?

Mary, I am about 1 1/2 hours from Cresson. Very pretty out there, we drive through when we go home to visit New England. And many trips through there when my daughter was at Penn State! The train pass around the mountain is pretty cool.

Jazzygirl, congrats on the weight loss and inches lost! That's great...keep it up!

Got home early from work today because I had to go to the doctor, had an eye infection I can't seem to shake. Now on antibiotics. Since I had the time when I got home, I did 30 minutes on the erg (rowing machine) before dinner. The best part was that when I was done I wasn't hungry....and so didn't eat too much, even though it was my favorite, home-made chicken parm.

Just a walk today for me, about 1.6-1.7 miles. Had to talk myself into it but now I'm glad I went. Stay warm back there where it's snowing

    Jazzygirl, that impressive!

I have a question, how much do you work out a day? A week? I've gotten pretty good at regular yoga everyday (which is something I need to do for flexibility, peace, and strength and to counter joint creaks) but I need to include regular aerobic activity. So I'm wondering how much aerobic activity- the elliptical or treadmill or a walk- into each week? What's a good starting point? 1/2 hour 3x/week? 5x/week?

Anyone, any guidance would be helpful. I'm more likely to stay motivated if I have a schedule to stick to.

    Thx!

Cheryl, you are lucky to have such a wonderful neighbor. Lilacblue, be gentle to yourself as you heal. Ginger, I love to bake on snowy days. Unfortunately it is usually cookies and such.

Momwriter, start with whatever schedule you can best work into your life like 3x a week for 30 minutes and work up to 5x a week. Or you can continue at 3 or 4x per week.I strive to walk enough to get my daily step goal 6 days per week and vary my exercise. Bootcamp twice per week as well as walk/jog/Elliptical plus weights the other days.

Didn't make it to bootcamp tonight as I have the beginnings of a migraine. Instead I did a short 20 minutes on the Elliptical and a few stretches. Got the meds on board and will turn in early tonight.

    Happy Hump Day ladies!

momwriter, agree with odie. You have to find the activity that you enjoy and that will help you stay with it. I like walking (outside when temps are 50+) or treadmill/bike inside and water aerobics on weekends or when I'm not too lazy after work. Hate, hate, hate the elliptical so that would not be part of my routine because I wouldn't keep at it. Start with however long you can do whichever you choose and you will probably make it longer and longer as time goes by. Putting on a headphone with favorite music also seems to make you go longer. Good luck.

20 mins bike; 25 mins treadmill; 30 mins resistance weights at gym tonight.

    Night sculpted friends.

Thanks Patoo and Odie! I will follow your advice and let you know how it goes. I have to remember that doing anything (going for a walk) is better than doing nothing. Sometimes I think I should do a heavy cardio so I do nothing when I'm not doing that- and then I lose my consistency. Nothing is never the right choice. I will charge up my fitbit again. (though it doesn't seem to really get the elliptical!).

They say if you do something consistently for 2-3 weeks it becomes like a routine and you miss it when you stop so hang in there. You are absolutely correct that doing something, even 15 mins, is better than doing nothing. You can do this (and the Voices now know your name!)

Wow Ginger almost 3 feet, that is a LOT of snowSnooze Jazzy congrats on the inches and weight loss ThumbsUp Mom I agree you have to find what you like, I get so bored on the treadmill so for me it's classes I love the music and all the people, if you look back a couple of pages Ruth has outlined her formula and its a good one. Odie I am very lucky I have great neighbors all around me.

Today did Sh'bam and tonight washed blinds, vacuumed and cleaned floors, my friend arrives from England tomorrow and yes I washed the windows last weekend, only time I ever wash windows is when visitors are coming Loopy
