    Jazzy, that's fabulous!

Mom, I am with Cheryl on classes. It motivates me and I want someone with skill showing me the correct way. And as Patoo said, once you get in a routine, you find yourself wanting to continue.

Tabatta and core this morning. Thankfully all of the half an inch of snow we received, melted the same day! No shoveling necessary!:-D

Catching up again. Keep up all the good work everyone. I have pulled my back perhaps due to my great idea to do some exercises throughout the day-donkey kicks, squats, wall push ups. It hurt a little yesterday and today I am messed up. I did go for a 25 minute walk at lunch hoping to work the kinks out. I'm not sure if it's better to rest it or gentle exercise. Came home and laid on the floor a bit and now back to the heating pad. UGH.

I went to the gym today before work and did 50 min fast walking on the treadmill.

Mom- I aim for 10,000 steps a day minimum on my Fitbit. Walking is a great way to get started.

I also recommend putting on headphones with upbeat music. The time passes so quickly.

Expecting another 2-4 inches of snow tomorrow...

Aurora, here's a Voice saying great job!  Sometimes I don't want to go either but feel so good when done.

Ginger, OMG 33 inches of snow?  So glad you didn't lose power.  I don't care what the critics say, closing everything down was a prudent precaution.  Weather is so unpredictable.

Logged 5 miles walked in the past couple days, just 4.4 more to the 5,000 mile mark!

Congrats to everyone losing inches and pounds.  I haven't measured but my pants are loose and I'm down 15 pounds from the new year.  Giving up sugar has been good for me but I don't begrudge anyone her sweets! ♥

Ruth, have a great time on vacation. Cheryl, enjoy the time with your houseguest.

Aurora, great job. Better late than never.LOL

Badger, way to go on sticking with the sugar challenge and your weight loss. So is it time to go for 10,000 miles since you are going to blow past the current goal?

Congrats to everyone losing weight or inches.

Went to bootcamp tonight and am thoroughly spent. Good night all.

Good to read so many positive reports of lost weight, inches and goals met.

Got to pink pilates yesterday and left off the two yoga classes usually attended do to last weeks breast revision recovery.  Woke to a very froggy throat this morning so I'll be staying home studying with son who is off school today due to inset day. Quiet day on the homefront for us.

This morning went to a class called HIIT, only 24 minutes, you work at high intensity for 45 seconds then recover for 15 seconds, I actually had to mop up liquid awesome off the floor

Edited to add that I went to physical therapy for my foot today and had a half hour foot massage, oh it was heaven

1/30- a bit behind here, but I did 40 min of resistance training and 30 laps in the pool today.

Thanks everyone for the kudos on my progress!

Ruth- since you are near Scottsdale, if you have time, check out the Musical Instrument Museum (MIM). It is an amazing place like no other in the world. I know you like music and think you would love this place. They have a great little restaurant there too for lunch!

    http://mim.org/

Mommywriter- you asked about exercise. I will tell you what my doctors and trainer tell me and then what I am trying to sustain. My goal is to be sure I do 30 minutes of something every day. It can be longer, but to do some type of exercise every day to move my body.

I spent four months working with a personal trainer last year and this is pretty much my routine these days:

3X a week of resistance training (anywhere from 30 min to an hour) for bone health

3-4X a week of some type of cardio (indoor biking, swimming, outdoor walking) currently. A min of 30 min of cardio

1 yoga class a week (or I will do a home practice of yoga for times I don't have an hour or more to spend in class)

Whatever you do, just find things you enjoy and that you can keep going.

Ruth- maybe you'll win the jackpot- probably same odds as getting BC, right?!

jazzy- thanks for sharing your routine. I like the idea of beginning with 30 minutes of anything. It's the consistency that is what matters. Over time I'll figure out what I like and what works for me.

yoga today- feels so good to be doing it regularly.

ruth, the rain should have made you concentrate more on winning and we could use the extra $$$$ for our June CA dream trip.

long day with too much bad food and the voices are calling. 20/20 is on so will go down to the treadmill.

    Night sculpted friends.

Superbowl factoid- I heard on the news yesterday that next to Thanksgiving, Superbowl Sunday is the next biggest "day of eating." I am not into football, so I don't partake in the parties, etc. and hope to go snow shoeing instead.

Be aware my fitness friends of the food challenges that go with tomorrow!

Edited to add my mall walking. I had posted a picture from my phone app because I thought it would be easy but its so big I decided to take it out and just use words. So I walked 45 minutes around the lake this morning and some mall walking this afternoon while my son shopped for pants.

Wonderland if you'd like to continue your workout, I have a few rooms to paint! And Cheryl can come wash my windows too.

Badger congratulations on your weight loss and reducing your sugar. Good job!

Ruth, it sounds like you are having a good time on vacation. Win big!

I will be at a super bowl party tomorrow. I thought I might bring a salad so I have something healthy to fill up on, although the host said I don't need to bring anything. Snow shoeing sounds like a blast and better for you!

Cheryl: Will your nice neighbor come to my house and paint my bedrooms??? Happy

    Badger: So close!

Finished painting the entry and hallway. Now everything is back in order. The last day of the paint sale is today so this morning I bought more paint for the bedrooms. Hope to paint two of them soon and the 3rd one later.

Pretty day so went to the park to fast walk/jog. Felt great!

No exercise for me yesterday as I got stuck at work in meetings until almost 7 p.m. making for a late night getting home. Today's exercise was walking while running errands and laundry. I like football but am not a big party person so will not be tempted by the bad goodies at such get togethers. Especially since they can't decide if we are going to get snow, ice or rain tomorrow night..

Hoping to try to get in a walk tomorrow before the weather starts.

Logged 3.5 miles today, between walking around furniture stores this morning and walking the neighborhood this afternoon.  Got a great deal on a new sofa and crossed the 5,000-mile mark!  Stocked up on groceries and hit the library as we may get a foot of snow from the storm just coming in now.  Shovel & Sculpt in my future...
