hey cs13 good to hear your sides arent bad. I know of a woman that i had treatments with and the only se dhe had from AC was fatigue so lets hope its the same for you. I had a very bad day yesterday, felt sick all day, today better but tired it was tv day for me. My se only start to appear about 4 days after treatment and i start to feel better 1 week after. But done with AC yahoo.
Smrivr, hang in there, remember this is only temporary, my daughter dedicated a new song to me yesterday and i think we should all sing it in the shower. Called TITANIUM. Words are powerful just what we need
Furfriend how did it go? Your done. Right with AC yahoo!0 -
done with AC #1. Feeling generally crappy and have nasty headache.0 -
H Mercedes,
So good to see you on line. Yes last AC today. I had a crying/anxiety episode & so they gave me believe it or not the Ativan I have been fighting not to take. It made me feel better in like 20-30min. Tonight I have burning in my throat and a little stomach ache. I took my zofran already for it.
Hope all is well with you Smrlv & CS13 I too get the headaches now and then make sure you take somethig you MO has ok'd.0 -
hey furfriend, so glad u made it well with a little help lol, but hey its over now, I am still dealing with the se from my last ac, ugh, weekend was bad almost felt like i was going to pass out, had to put feet up snd drink gatorade replenish the salts and today im dragging my bod around, my onco warned me this one would be tough, im in bed at 8. So today, its the recliner and tv again. Lol hope tommorrow is better. Do you have cravings? I have a list of foods and restaurants i want to go to soon as these taste buds get back, lol heard taxol will e better as far as taste.... God i hope.
Hang in there well get thru this..........0 -
Mercedes,
How are things? Any plans for Turkey day? I am not cooking a things. Ordered prepared turkey & all the trimmings this year so none of the family has to cook. I was down and out over this weekend . Did Nothing. Couln't even get it together to do laundry. Oh well, right? I am feeling better today. How about you? Oh sure I have many cravings. Mostly though I have been OD ing on carbs and sugar n salt.
I haven't heard much on the Taxol, have you?
Hang in there and all the best for you0 -
hey furfriend. Well i have to admit this is my 3 week from AC treat, and iam soooooo tired and ,my taste is still off my onco said this would be the worse as this poison accumulates and boy by #4 it floors you and like you cant get much done. I have 2 16 yr girls and i got mad at them this weekend told them they have to step it up and help out, well they did somewhat with great pain! Geezs, so much for poor mom. Lol.
I believe the taxol treatments will be easier on us. The sides arent as bad, we shouldnt have that sick feeling or bad taste, a little ,more energy, my onco said probably by #8 it will affect my joints and muscles, lovely now i wont be able to move around, i have prpblems going up my second floor without getting out of breath. Lol someone should be filming us slugging around. Hers a laugh, it took me 3 hoursto vacum the other day, i sat here and there just pushing the hose. I have 2 dogs and 2 cats and i cannot stand fur everywhere, but i have calmed down im not so neurotic as i was in the beginning of my treat.
Its crazy how things that are were so important before like house cleaning or anything is not that important anymore. I was also kinda of a humbug when it came to xmas, i was always looking to escape to the carribean for a week, now i cant wait and i want it special. My sister who lives down the street from will dothe xmas dinner.
Have u lost all your hair? I still have some stubble on my head, eyelashes gone, eyebrows thinned, still have arm hair. Skin looks weird and is sensitive and dry, i use cerva lotion really good.
Well were getting hit with a storm tonite into tommorrow lotsof snow. Yuk
Our thanksgiving was in october, but i hope u and your family have a happy and fun day. Yum love turkey! Dont stressout too much. Take care0 -
Mercedes,
I thought about your Thanksgiving after I hit submit. Silly me. I have lost most of my hair a little stubble and a few longer strands here and there. My eyelashes and brows are thinned out.
On a personal note do you think you are going through the menopause part as well? I bled for 12 days straight a few weeks back, yikes! That may have been the last of my womanhood- so sad. We are still strong & beautiful Mercedes
How is your weight doing? I haven't gained much but I hear it gets worse as time goes on then the 5-10 years on Tamoxafin(Sp). Do you still get pains from your surgery site? I seem to get some pins and needles, tingling going on some. I have an apt. with my surgeon in two weeks as a follow up.
So nice to know you have a supportive family. Do you have twin girls? You must love to shop with them! I hope your Christmas is a special one for you with lots of laughter and job.
You have animals- how nice. What do your dog and cats look like & are they mixed breeds? I adore my 2 cats! They are the bomb n my little family!!! I have noticed when I get scratched by them it is taking longer to heal and I worry about cleaning the litre box as MO said to be mindful of this always- take note of this.
I love snow but dread the ice and dirty snow as it sits around. Tomorrow is to be decent in PA around 50deg. I will take it!
Speaking of skin oh good Lord mine is a mess. I need to find that Cerva lotion as I heard it works well.
Nice to hear from you stay in touch0 -
Mercedes, cleaning and being a clean freak are things of the past for me. I still clean but not worrying too much like before the BMX. In part is good to have changed my habits, I am sure I was a little annoying to my husband0 -
hi furfriend, i will have to post some of my pics with my doggies, my laptop crashed a couple of weeks ago again had lots of pics on there, so ill have to take some more, my dogs are rescues. Ones a mix of irish setter and lab hes big, ,y other one is a husky and shrpherd mix, she is so beautiful and a real mush ball. My cats, one tabby and other ginger and very loud. I retired from work 5 years ago and seem to accumulate these guys.
My girls are mot twins, one was adopted from vietnam st 15 months and 4 years later we adopted another little girl from cambodia she was 5 at the time so now they are a month apart but same age, i was 45 yrs old when i decided to be a mom, i guess u could say my husband and had god jobs, big house financially stable but something was missing. It keeps me going, my husband dtill works hes younger than me, actually he would probably get on my nerves being here all day lol.
Menopause, well i am 60 just turned in july, i went into meno at age 53, went thru all the crazies of hot flashes physco moods etc and now for extra fun chemo lol god love us women we do persevere. I am 5'6 and weigh 134 i think i lost a couple of pounds but nothing significant and when i eat i crave fruits and vegetables so crazy, i think its because i am thirtsy.
Dont worry about going into memo. I have a friend who was 43 and went thru chemo 5 yrs ago for bc and she went into menopause.
I did not have surgery yet. This will be determined at the end of my treatment they wanted to refuce the tumor sizes and they are reduced, however dont know if i will have a masectomy. I guess they will run more mri and ultrasounds in the next months
You should not be cleaning kitty litter boxes, i was told also, wear a mask and gloves if u need to.
Talk to u soon0 -
headeast, hey i hear you, i just dont have the energy to go nuts. Youre right its not the end of the world as long as the obvious is done.
We have nasty weather hear, i envy you being miami. We usually vacation in madeira beach love florida and hopefully one day we will own a condo down there, once i get rid of the kids. Lol0 -
Mercedes, the weather down here is wonderful, even with the rain we have now it is beautiful to watch it. One of my dogs doesn't lime the rain and get his paws dirty or wet, lol. So we carry him. Now I just try to convince him that I can not carry him and pull gently to get his walk. Sometimes dogs can be more divas than us!
The one in the oicture had a surgery yesterday. It was a cyst. She slept with us last night to keep an eye on her. She feels good today.0 -
Wishing everyone a wonderful Thanksgiving, depsite what we are all going through. I'm awaiting results from a mass removed yesterday - praying that it is benign and not a recurrence. And, if it a recurrence that it is only local. I won't know a thing until next week so I may as well just enjoy my day anyway. Looking forward to the crazy trip to the grocery store. At this time last year I was in radiation and had just finished 16 chemos, had neuropathy, and couldn't possible walk around a busy store or carry groceries - so I'm grateful for today!

mariasnow, sending positive vibes to you and prayers, enough is enough right sometime that black cloud that hovers over us has to leave. Hugs
Headeast, i thought my dogs were spoiled, cant carry them around ones 70 lbs and the other 55 lbs. and get this we got rid of our king bed and replaced it woth 2 queens so we can all sleep comfortably, my husbands idea im not crazy about having the fogs on the beds, i gotta put doggy sheets over the comforters. Is that crazy or what? And during my chemo head days i remember them running into the house with dirty paws andswearing at them then sitting down and crying, of course they also thought i lost it. Lol
Going to get my flu shot today, my onco said it was ok, hope i dont react.0 -
Maria,
All the best for you. I hope your results are benign as well. Stay on course with that positive outlook to get you through.
I wish everyone here a Happy & Healthy Thanksgiving. I am thankful for all you ladies and BC.org.
Stay strong0 -
Mercedes, yes my dogs are very spoiled. I don't let them sleep with us though, because of the paws, they walk outside and I am a little paranoic in getting infections. Only one slept with us because of her surgery, but she is fine and tunning allover the place now.
I had a wonderful Thanksgiving and now I feel so full...0 -
Mercedes & Headeast, & all dog Lovers
Did you see the Purina 12th annual dog show on the tube tonight? Oh my -they are soo awesome! I also watch the one that airs in February.0 -
Furfriend, I missed it! I took my dogs and my DH for my walk. I downloaded an app to count calories and miles. I loved it and it was free. We walked a little over three miles around my house and felt so good! We are doing this daily now and hopefully I will have the energy to do it during my TC4.0 -
hi furfriend and headeast, no did not see the dog show, i know they sponsor one on montreal every year and i do watch on the tube, amazing dogs. I have to laugh when i see these well behaved dogs all nice and groomed compared to mine, who dont listen, my husband has to walk them cause they pull, like i said they dont listen lol.
Hope u all had a nice thanksgiving, did any of you do some shopping, the retailers here try to fo some kind of black friday thing, but its mothing like the states and i did not have the energy to go out this weekend. However. Probably could of got a deal on a laptop mine crashed again, so using ipad. I prefer laptop
I had the flu shot last wednesday and i dont know if that has anything to do with my fatigue, i just cant pick up and still that taste in my mouth, its been 3 weeks since my last AC and boy the sides are lingering, i hope this changes soon i see my onco on tuesday then my #1 taxol on wednesday.
Ive lost most of my eyelashes and brows, i look very strange almost creepy. Lol and i can pencil in the brows but cant wear eyeliner, my eyes are watery, and sensitive and boy im white kind of pasty, oh well this is temporary right?0 -
Mercedes, I still have my eyebrows and eyelashes but nurse told me I would lose them after the fourth treatment, which is this Wednesday. Can you put fake eyelashes? You can watch videaos on YouTube and see how to glue them.0 -
hi headeast, no did not buy false eyelashes, and dont intend to wear them, my eyes are too sensitive now, kinda of reddish too, so i will give them a rest, funny cause i use to wear them when i was a teenager it was the thing back thenand. Had long lashes too didnt even need them. I told my daughters they can buy me some for xmas along with this eyebrow kit from sephora i shall experiment. To be honest, im starting to look like the walking dead! Lol0 -
Oh Mercedes,
don't make me cry! I am with you as my lower lashes are falling out quickly the last 4 days and my eyes are a bit itchy. My skin is terribly dry to boot.
My Taxol starts tomorrow and as usual when I think about it I want to hurl. I get soo freaking anxious at times. Tomorrow my girlfriend is taking me to treatment. I hope/pray this round of cocktails is easier on us gals.
Stay strong warriors!0 -
furfriend, i have my taxol on wednesday and my sister is accompanying me and strangely enough i feel sick thinking about it. I think we feel this way cause were just so fed up of feeling sick, going and sitting in that chair more needles ugh. I gotta get out of this mindset we are nearing the end, furfriend we will march on lol. Just hoping i have my taste buds back thats my wish for this round of treatments.
Let me know how ur treatment went, im right behind ya!0 -
Mercedes - I felt sick today, too at the thought of going to chemo. I mean nauseous. I also had an emotional morning, mostly because I was so anxious about going back there today to sit in that chair.0 -
Hi Pretty Warriors ,
Well, had my 1st Taxol this am. Thought I would be done early since only one drug instead of 2. Wrong! I wound up being longer. Apparently my Taxl bag was huge OMG! So from 9am-3pm. I saw my MO today-she is the best gave me the same run down on the Taxol should be a little easier maybe more fatique because of the cummulative effect. I had a reaction to the Benadryl we believe today. Super dizzy& stomach was queazy. Had to be walked to the bathroom. This passed after 30 minutes. I don't recall getting Benadryl during AC but the nurse said I did??? Going to call my cancer center tomorrow to check.
This is the 1st time I stayed home after treatment. I feel guilty as my immediate supervisor is out all week and the work is tremendous. Tinglling & bone pain seems to be the most common se's per MO. I took a Tylenol already to stay on top of bone pain Will be taing another in 2 hours then nighty night. I hope I can do this.
BTW MO has decided I am to do Taxol every 2 weeks. She feels more comfortable with this.
love to each.0 -
smrivr hang in there are u doing AC chemo and for how long?
Furfriend, if your doing every two weeks is the dose more intense, i wAs told by my onco that the weekly dose is weaker, maybe cause im older anyway i see my onci tommorrow for bloods and physical exam of the tumors, then wed my treatment.
I actually had a little more energy, 2 loads of laundry, vacuumed, did 2 floors left the basement for my husband his NFL man cave. But i was pooped after.
Are any of u guys short of breath when climbing stairs whatever? I swear to god i feel like im going to croak sometimes. Lol.
Its snowing lightly here its quite nice a little diversion from the crap we've been living. Its funny to see my cats jump at the flakes when they sit at the bay window.0 -
Mercedes, yes I am many times a day out of breath, even when talking, and with climbing stairs.0 -
hi headeast, i saw my onco today for bloods cause starting taxol tommorrow. Told him i was out if breath and like you even when i talk, he said it was normal and i should pick up on taxol not 100% but better than now and my taste should come back. He said the AC is the most powerful chemo and our bodies after 4 rounds just takes longer to recoop. He also asked me how my mood was, well i told him i cried a lot yesterday, why i dont know i need to release sometimes. Of course thats normal too really?
It was a big outing this morning. Lol even wore my new hat. Tommorrow my husband will take me, its about an hours drive from where i live.
Well wish me luck for tommorrow.0 -
Mercedes, I get so nervous the day before chemo that I usually cry, get angry, laugh, all at the same time. My DH knows it is the anxiety, the one I never had before. I was always so calm but the idea of the chemo makes me wacko! Lol0 -
Thinking of you Mecedes,
Let us know how you did on your 1st tx of taxol. I did not get an answer yet as to why I had such dizziness. Not sure if the Benadryl caused it or something else was going on.
I felt like I was going to be sick for the first 2 hours while getting my infusion. I seem to be getting worse with the anxiety instead of better. Is this from the drugs we are on girls? Or am I just losing control of my emotions?
Not sure if I getting getting more of the Taxol. All I can tell is the bag was huge and took 3 hours to drain. UGH.
I have SOB as well. I am getting my echo on Wednesday to check everything out. My MO keeps telling me this is normal. Next week I see my Surgeon to check on my incisions.
hope to hear from you gals soon.0 -
Smrlvr, how are you doing haven't heard from you? Did you have your 2nd round of AC?0
