Sweetie, Somehow I had missed your post, I have not been able to get on as much. I'm sorry about your set-back and I hope you are doing better. It is amazing how resilient we can be when we have to. Healing wishes to you!
vmundrow, You are always welcome here! A lot of us have chosen to have at least one breast removed for prophylactic reasons, including me. So please do not feel out of place! We are all sisters here!
Hurleygirley and GaGirl, You girls are so positive and strong, already back to work! Wow, I'm impressed! Just listen to your bodies and rest when needed.
Love and gentle hugs to all!

IrishLass- Welcome to the club! I had my NSM on March 8th so we are pretty close in our timeline. I haven't had the skin issue you described but probably someone on this site has! Just to let you know I am expanded to 400 cc's right now and am having my exchange surgery in June. My PS is going to use 350 or 375 cc implants and said I will be a B cup.
You might want to check out the thread "Breast Implant Sizing 101". There is a member on there called "whippetmom" and she kind of guides us in what to go for in implants to get the desired look. You can post or PM her with your measurements and she advises on what type and size of implant will look the best.

IrishLass, Welcome! I have a place close to my nipple that the veins are very visible, similar to varicose veins, but the area is not raised. It almost looks like a bruise from a distance. I plan on having my PS check it out next time I see him. I will let you know what he says. I am not a back sleeper, but I find using lots of pillows placed strategically helps.

Valerie: I know my nipple had a black scab for several weeks. It will eventually fall of, be patient.
TNLady: I don't have veins but you can see all my pores on the bottom of my TE side. ICKY!

welcome to our little club IrishLass
I can relate to the hunching over. I did that for a long time. (My uni was 3/16) I found that arching my back and strecting that pec muscle helped a lot and now kinda feels good.
I was prescribed effexor this week to help with the night sweats from tamoxifen. I didn't realize it was an anti-depressent..I also just read that I should not drink alcohol with effexor...I think I would rather have the hot flashes

twirlandcurl- LOL!!! I think they say no alcohol while taking any anti-depressants. I've taken AD for most of my adult life and have never had a problem other than some make the alcohol more potent- more bang for your buck!0

Why am I worried about my third "fill" today as the other two have not been bad at all?
0 -
Twirl, Love the new pic, nice to see you!
vmydrow, I hope your fill goes great! Just think, with each fill you are getting closer to your exchange!
bcincolorado, You know my pores look bigger since my surgery. Very strange! The things we have to go through, it's a good thing we are not wimps! : )

I saw my ps today & she gave me 50cc in each - I'm so happy! I felt the needle go in my right boob, some feeling is good. My little sick patch of skin will be monitored very carefully now, plus my ps took a photo of it.
TN Please let me know what your ps says about your skin. I'm thinking I might take a photo of my patch & post it so you can see if yours is the same.
bcincolorado my pores are also more visable

twirlandcurl- I like your new picture. Very cute!
vmudrow- Hope your fill went o.k. today. I ended up having to do each fill a little bit less than the one before. It took me longer but it was a lot more comfortable.
IrishLass- Isn't it funny that we say, "Yippee, the needle hurt! I am so happy!" but I totally get it. Each fill I have done hurts a little bit more. It's definitely a good sign!

Valerie: I hope your fill wasn't too bad. I started taking a Valium and 1/2 Darvocet before I left home to go for a fill so it would be in my system and my muscles could relax some. The Darvocet helped with the whole "needle thing" since I'm a big baby!

Hi ladies :0) I just had the big switcharoo on the 1st. If you forgot....I'm 5'4, 116lbs, 25.9in rib cage.....I was expanded to 465cc....my PS ended up putting in the Mentor high profile 400cc's smooth round implants...instead of the 350cc's. It's hard to tell what they are going to look like because of the swelling through my ribs and stomach. I think they are going to look good thought. I know I have read so much about how they are suppose to "fluff" up over time...but I was wondering if that was true for everyone? I was sent home with only tagaderm over my steri strips...and I wasn't bandaged at all. I always hear about how woman have hamburger bun shaped boobs after surgery...I don't see mine like that. I'm just wondering if I will "fluff" at all or if that is only for the women who were compressed tightly after surgery...Anyone have a clue? I'm going to post some pictures as soon as I get my camera usb port...so then you can check 'em out! ~Mandi

I'm also planning on posting pictures....but I have to get a new USB port so it will be a few days yet :0)

MandiPandi...I am so excited for you! Yahoo for the final boobs! You will have to keep us posted on the results!

MandiPandi- It's so funny that you posted. I was just PM'ing hurleygirly saying I know there is someone our size who is doing her exchange this week but I couldn't remember your screen name. So glad you posted, again. How did everything go? Are you so happy you are done? As the girls say- Yippee Squishy!!!

Everything went great, other then I had an allergic reaction to the tegaderm they used...so I have a few blisters right now. These are sooooooooo much softer than the expanders, I can't even believe it! I think that they look good already. I don't think they look flat, I was expecting the worse from what I hear everyone else talking about. If they are still going to fluff...I will be even happier than I already am with them. I'm just thankful to be finished of the process...DONE! Can't wait till you ladies can see them :0)

That's awesome news MandiPandi! Now you can show them off this summer in a new bikini!0
-
MandiPandi: Congrats! I'm so happy to hear that all went well & the implants are soooooooooo much softer than the TE's!

Ladies, I took some photos of my boobs yesterday, they look pretty bad at the moment. One is off center & the nipple of the other is too high! My ps pinned my nipples up because she said I had droopy boobs. I also have a skin issue - like a bruise with lots of visible veins, kinds marbled looking. I was wondering how to get to the photo gallery so I can share & then you can give me honest feedback!!! Oh yeah, they are both filled to 350 with another 50cc to go...

IrishLass- To get to the photo gallery you have to PM a member called Timtam. If you haven't posted a lot yet she may make you wait. She just wants to make sure only legitimate posters have access so she's kind of protective of all the women that post their photos which is what we all want. (Not that we don't think you are legitimate, of course!) What does your PS or BS say about your skin issues? I haven't heard of it before but maybe someone on here has.

bcincolorado: My "fill" wasn't bad at all - not sure why I get nervous. PS did say the farther out we get that the needle might hurt as the numbness wears off, but they can deaden it. He uses quite a big needle and just fills it from the syringe, is that how everyone else's is done?
MandiPandi - Congratulations!! So glad you are happy with your results!! Gives me hope!

Kate33, Thanks - I'll PM Timtam, when she sees my photo she'll know I'm not a stalker! I appreciate the privacy too, I wouldn't want the world to see my boobs at the mo...0

Hi Ladies,
trying to catch up on reading-doing fine from second surgery to close wounds. He had to replace one tissue expander. The other side the nipple started getting oozy and iritated. He said I have to wait three weeks for fill. I am now 250cc's on one side and 150 on the other! What a way to look good in halter tops! It seems at times this BC thing is a bumpy road of ups and downs but I get the feeling we are all going to land on safe ground sooner or later. Don't know if I mentioned, but I don't need any chemo!! Thank God! I keep reading about you guys talking about the photo gallery, how to you access this?

sweetie2040- Sorry you are having such a rough time of it. You must be ready to say enough is enough. So glad you won't need chemo, though. That is huge!
To access the photo gallery you have to PM a member called Timtam. She will e-mail you back with instructions on how to log onto the site.

My TE is fully expanded at 360. Feels just like it did after MX..elephant on the chest..heaviness. I take back everything I said about the fills not hurting. I guess my old flabby chest just needed to get streatched to the max..yeoww
3 weeks of rest and in for consult on what implants to put in. PS said if I am not happy with the size, then I can get a larger TE placed. (Why would I do that???) I think it's large enough and I am tired of it being in my armpit. I am also tired of the hot sweaty prosthesis on my natural side. I have a new appreciation for woman who choose to wear them everyday. wow
Sweetie..you need to PM timtam for access to pictures. I just got in this week. it's a wonderful reference site.
Hope you all are well and perky

twirlandcurl- You and I are pretty close in size. I am expanded to about 380 right now. Did you PS give you a date for your exchange yet? Mine is the 29th of this month. I can't wait! I'm tired of the whole armpit thing, too. They feel like they've gotten really bad these past 2 weeks.

no date yet..I think he wants to put another TE in me so he can match my natural side better. he keeps asking if it is big enough. I understand that he's going to augment my left with a small implant, then make the mx side match. I just dont want another surgery and more waiting and filling. plus I look oh so cute without a bra on right now I cant stand it0

twirlandcurl, Sorry to hear about the pain you are feeling with your fill. Are you taking any meds for it? Ask your doc for some Valium or Flexeril if you don't have any already. I sound like a druggie but Valium seems to make it so you don't notice discomfort, even though you have it, and you can still function. Flexeril knocks me out cold (and I still take it) but other people don't have that problem at all. I am going to take off work for all of my fill days just so I can pass out for the day and wake up having slept through any discomfort. What a plan huh? Sleep can't hurt...that's the way I look at it and that drug is a muscle relaxer. I hope it gets better for you soon. I have my second fill this Monday. I'll pop a Flexeril an hour before and then basically take a nice nap for approximately 7 hours! I hope to look boobylicious like the rest of you gals!
sweetie, That is super fab news about not needing any chemo. Yahoo!!!

Hi everyone: I've been away from here for a while...my daughter just graduated from college and moved back ....busy busy!! My heart is with all of you in the fills process: I know its just miserable, but it will be SO worth it in the end, and the implants are SO soft compared to those expanders: feep the faith and take the drugs!
Sweetie so sorry about the complications but horray for no chemo!!!
Valerie: as you know we are sisters here: didnt have cancer but very high risk and hyperplasia.... I think of you often and hope you continue to tolerate the fills. We are so fortunate to be doing this as a means of being proactive and preventing, also lucky you all are accepting and supportive of us even though we didnt have to suffer the big C diagnosis as you have.....
Oh: I mentioned before to you all that I had an actual "date" for the first time since the surgery: I'm still seeing the guy Havent done the big reveal though..... that I need to work up to: its quite an intimidating thought right now. My BMX was 1/11, exchange 3/26....its June and Im still adjusting to it all. I do look pretty great in summer tank tops though!

fairport: Congrats on the graduation! I know how exciting that is! I hope she is able to get a job soon since I know they can be difficult right now. My son just finished his masters in May and is still looking for a teaching job right now. He hasn't moved back home though, which is ok with me since he has 2 big dogs and it might be tough to manage while recouping from surgery.
For everyone still doing fills, hang in there! My onco actually scolded me for not taking pain meds more. He said no one gets addicted to Darvocet and he would prefer I take it and not be in pain and able to move around more than in pain and sedentary.
