Hi Jasper
I am from Australia. I had my exchange 2 weeks ago. Deborah is FANTASTIC!!!!! She is always there for us. My doctor was fantastic too! He is a reconstructive plastic surgeon and NOT only a cosmetic surgeon. Here in Australia there are plenty of cosmetic surgeons but they are not reconstructive doctors.

Hi Whippetmom-
I was wondering if you waited 6 months for nipple reconstruction because you felt it was better for you skin or would you have been just as comfortable with a 3 month wait? I had the go ahead at 2 months but I'm not in a hurry. I may be having more surgery down the line with a possible Oohp and whatever else so I would prefer to group the two around the same time when I'm less active.

Summer: I just was not in any hurry for the procedure. You want to make sure the implants settle and also make sure you are not going to want any revisions after the exchange. Might as well take care of all of the little tweaks and adjustments before getting nip. It might have even been eight or nine months after the exchange for me - as I did have a fat graft transfer procedure done about six months after my exchange and then nips two to three months thereafter. It is all a blur.....0

Whippetmom, you had given me info on adjustable saline implants & asked me to let you know what we decided on. My PS will be using the Mentor Spectrum & will try to match that to the Natrelle Style 45 500 CC that I got to keep. I have had skin integrity issues on both sides, rads on only one side. Lat flaps on both sides.
Thanks again for your help! Surgery is in less than 2 weeks & we will be going super slow with fills.

I had my exchange yesterday - my PS went with the 400 cc's and they look GREAT!!!!!! I am so happy! They still need to drop and fluff, of course, and then will look more natural, but I think they look great for one day out. I'm really happy!!! My PS said my skin was in great shape, even with rads, (thank you emu oil!) and that it was really successful. And every nurse/doctor that checked me, said "WOW, you look great!" I stayed overnight because I didn't get released from the recovery room until 10pm and I live 2 hours away. Thanks, whippetmom! I am really thrilled. Going bra shopping per your specifications on Sunday!!!

Congratulations, sweetbean! They beat the heck outta TEs, don't they ?!?!?!?!

rubalou, they really do! nice and soft! Whippetmom was right on the money!!!

Just take it easy. Mine started out so soft and I have been overdoing it. Sooo easy when you feel ok. Mine are not as soft now and I am hoping that behaving myself with remedy that. It's amazing how really little can be too much!

Congrats, sweetbean. You and I are the same size and I also have 400cc smooth round. I would not have liked anything bigger and was planned for no smaller because of the size of the expanders. Generally, I think they are a good size. Too full in the upper pole so they have that stripper look going on, but the size is about right. They hurt like hell, but the size is good.

Rubalou,
Why are they hard? Are you getting CC? And what is too much? Thanks!

I'm not sure why they are hard :-( They feel spasmy. Too much was not very much. I really think it was tryig on bras and maybe driving. Even though i haven't done a ton of driving I did try on alot of bras. A little too much pushing-pulling maybe? I think you almost have to be as cautous after the TE's as after the MX for the first few weeks. I don't feel remotely close to as bad though so it's hard to keep that in mind.
Anyone with any experience in this please chime in!

"spasmy", I know the feeling. When I am tired, work out upper body, etc, I have that feeling. I seem to soften up when I rest, warm bath, deep breaths, and massage implants. I don't think capsular contracture but tightening of the pec muscles.

I have read alot of the posts here and I hope I am doing the right thing! I wish I wouldof known this board existed before my surgery! The only information I know is I have 230 CC in each side right now. The PS plans to go to 300 CC in each and than an overfill. I am not sure what size breast I will have. Before my surgery I was a size A but before kids and nursing I was a size B. While nursing I wore a C. I am 5'4.75" and about 105 pounds with about 28in around chest. I also know the PS said I was getting the MemoryGel implants but I didnt know there were different ones! I just hope I am doing this right...please help if you can. Thanks.

I had my exchange in November and it's taken up to recently for me to start feeling the squishy softness that many of you enjoy right away. I was really big into strength training for years prior- not super heavy weight for body building or anything but just enough to really tire after many, many reps. My pec's were really, really tight and I had spasms and pulling all the time. Not excruciating, just annoying and always worse at the end of the day.
My PS was really "loose" with his instructions for what I could do for exercising and for me the thing that helped is remembering to stretch. I was fine if I hopped on the couch and rested for a while, too. I still take my strength training class but I really had to lay off on many of the chest exercises. Now I finally feel like I'm getting a more normal softening and while I really don't think I look larger I seem to be be able to fill out a bra cup better now. I wish I would have taken photos right after to see if the changes were more noticeable over the weeks. I was not a happy camper when I came home and tried on some old bras and some of those were really not filled out. Because I didn't have NS, I was feeling VERY unlucky at the time and just had a feeling I would have at least one go bad, I am flatter across than before. However, I have found in the right bra I wear a C-my goal- and I accidently tried on a DKNY in a D and that fits me the best of all.

Summer I find that DNKY's fit well too. I too was given little instruction but my PT told me to lay off the exercises that work the pecs

hillck & lago- Yup, I do believe I needed to learn the hard way and will try and keep avoiding those pec sets. It's funny how much other exercises cross over and use the chest muscles like certain kinds of crunches and other core working exercises.
lago- I was a real bra "hick" prior to all of this! Ninety percent of the time I was running around in Hanes cotton stretchy sports bras (which I still like). A wide, shallow cup seems to really fit the best. Of course, some styles have "puckerage" but I'm getting better at grabbing the right style.
