    Sweetbean,

I am also your size. Exact height and ribcage, right down to the half inch and about the same weight. My normal weight is 110 but I have been around 120 since 5 surgeries and chemo. The extra weight actually is not bad.

My exchange was November 10, 2011 and I have 400 cc in both sides. I will bump my thread for you on the Picture Forum. It is titled "Exchanged to 400cc HP".

The most recent photo updates there are Jan 15 at 9 weeks post op.

I have shape asymmetry issues but that has nothing to do with the size of the implants. So you can at least see the size on us. I would not like them any bigger at all.

Tampa, thank you!!!!  This is on Timtam's forum?

Yes, although my user name there is different. I don't look anywhere near as good as Takeadeepbreath who has wonderful symmetry, but you will be able to see what exactly 400ccs looks like on our size.

Be aware the same size implant can look very different on the same size women. Body habitus plays a large role. So while the 400/450 looks nice and natural on Takeadeepbreath, if you look at the pictures in my thread and the bra thread, you will see they look more like missiles on me, the width is nice but the slope and projection are not natural at all. I look almost exactly like I did with the expanders in. And feel like it, too.

    Cindy,

I just looked and don't see that.

As I already PM'd Hillck, I triple-checked the thread in question and didn't see anything that was not relevant to breast reconstruction. I am sure it was something to do with the browser's history or cache memory. No violation whatsoever on the Picture Forum.

    Tampa,

Why are you asymmetrical?  I am asymmetrical right now because of rads, but am really  hoping that the PS can even me out.  She is supposed to do a capsulectomy (or whatever that is called.)  She is also going to try to move my breasts in a bit - they are currently set kind of far apart.

I've had a bilateral BMX with Lat D flaps.  I was wondering if anyone has had an exchange with Lat D flaps on the picture site that I would be able to see the finished result?

I know some women have had a sling used (for the life of me I can't remember the name of this)!

Whittetmom - Thanks for the fantastic advise for my implants, I think I am leaning toward the Allergan Style 20, either 550 or 600cc.  Will be discussing this with my PS, who is open to listening to me.  The info his nurse gave me about the saline implants is so out of character as to what my PS  has told me from the beginning, he told me he only recommends silicone for reconstruction.

Thanks again for your help!   Will be in touch as I get an exchange date set.

Gracie:  Look at Linda54's photos on the pic forum. Lat flaps plus implants.

Ladies, with this TE in, how quickly can one go to the gym- or is it not advisable . I'm not ready yet but thinking ahead of the game

Redinrah, I had to wait 3 weeks, was allowed to do non bouncy cardio the first week back and was back in action the following week. My weights were light and no chest yet.

    Whippetmom,

My PS said that 400cc implants wouldn't fit in the pocket.  Do you think this is true?  I mean, the expanders weren't 360cc when she put them in - they got expanded to be that big.  Can they really  not go any bigger?  I'm worried that I am going to be disappointed with the size...

Huh? Sweetbean... okay, your TEs have the following dimensions:

12.0 cm width and 6.3 cm projection

The Style 20 400 cc implants are:

11.9 cm width and 5.0 cm projection

    Show her the numbers.

What does she intend to use then? Why use a 12.0 cm wide TE if you plan to use a narrower implant . Does not make sense.

Sweetbean: I just looked through your older posts on this thread and there is some conflicting info. You originally said your TEs were 133 MX-300s. Then, more recently you stated they are 133 MX 400s. This would make a difference in what I would recommend. So let's clear this up.

Ah!  OK, I believe that they are 133MX -12 400's that have been filled to 360cc's.  Does that make sense?

Sorry about the confusion with the early, wrong numbers!

Well, if they are 400s and are filled to 360 ccs, just 40ccs shy of completely filled, I do not see a problem with the 20-400s. Your TE width remains the same and so your projection is what changes to possibly 6.2 instead of 6.3? Ask your PS what she intends to use. Ask her why she did not use a MX 300, if she planned to use an implant under 12.0 cm.

Thank you - I will ask!

Here is the thing sweet: with your height/weight/ribcage, you really only need around 350 ccs in a high profile implant. But the width of the TE dictates the size of the future implant. So I am perplexed.

What do you think of the size you are now sweet?

  • sweetbean
    sweetbean Member Posts: 433

Interesting!  I like the size I am now, especially in my left breast.  My right one shrank a bit due to rads, but my PS said she would work on the pockets, etc.  She said this I would look a little bit smaller after the exchange due to the fact that the implants are soft and not hard like the TE's.  They are definitely set far apart and she is going to do some work to bring them closer together.  (The originals were far apart, too, so this will probably be an improvement!)

On one hand, I really do trust her, because after looking at lots and lots of pictures, I can say that she has definitely done a great job thus far.  On the other hand, I worry that her personal preference is for slightly smaller breasts than I want.  Thus my dilemma.

Thanks so much for your guidance!

    Hi Everyone,

Had my exchange yesterday at 8am and was home by 12:30. My new squishees are GREAT!!!  My PS did such an awesome job. He ended up going back through the same incisions and put in the Allergan style 20 450cc. He brought my cleavage in and they are totally well placed.

Whippetmom, You are awesome and the 450 are wonderful. Thanks!!!!!

He also did some FG to my cleavage area and the tops of my breasts to soften the shelf. He took the fat from my love handle area. He told me NO bra for right now.

The exchange suregery pain is not even really pain. Just sore and I feel like I will stop the pain meds today. I am a little sore in my love handle area where he harvested the fat but no leaking or anyting like I have read happens after regular lipo.

Congrats, sounds like everything went great. I'm looking forward to my exchange next Monday. Let me know how everything progresses.

    Rubalou,

What were your TE's filled to?  Congratulations!!!

Sweetbean: I just feel that if you indeed have 133 MX-400's, - 400 ccs in a Style 20 should fit nicely in the pockets created.  It is important to ask your PS which style and volume she has in mind.

Whippetmom, I agree - I looked up all the numbers and 400cc's should fit.  My PS is definitely planning on Style 20, but either at my current size or a bit smaller.  So I'm assuming 375 or 350?  However, I am going to e-mail her and ask.  Do you think it makes a difference that my breasts are set somewhat far apart?  She is going to do some work to reposition them, but they are definitely a little far apart.  Always have been.  Thanks so much!

    sweetbean,

They were filled to 350cc and I got 450cc implants. My chest around where my bra band would go measures 31. I am 5'7" and weigh about 135. They actually look the same size as they did with the TE's, I tried on bras with the TE's in and fit into a 34D and a 36C

My PS did bring them closer together and then did fat grafting to fill in the clevage area and the shelf.

Here's what's so cool. They are so SOFT and they move!!!!!

I think I will be able to get great clevage with a bra once I'm all healed and my PS says it's ok. I never had any before either. Exciting!!!! I hope I still like them as much when they are not swollen.

Whippetmom was dead on for size for me. (You Rock Deborah!) If your one side will be smaller can't your PS just fill it up a little more? Is it maybe that your skin won't take that much stretching?  If it will I'd 'convince' her to go a little bigger.  After all we've been through we deserve to get what we want if it's possible!

sweetbean:  I can give you the details of rubalou's TEs...

She had a different brand of TEs - Dermaspan - but they have the same dimensions and characteristics as Allergan and Mentor.

Her TEs had a fill capacity from 310-370cc.  They were 12.0 wide, and 6.0 projection max.  She was filled to 350 ccs.  So you can see that your TEs have the same width and GREATER projection than rubalou's, which is why I truly believe a 400 cc Style 20 would work well.
