emilybrook: Go to the thread header at the top of the page and look at topic #3. There you will see that there is information I need so that I can help you with sizing issues.

I am nicely "growing" new puppies, but am not yet where I want to be.  My question is a weird one.  I love my PS! He told me that when I'm happy with the size of the TE's, he'll over expand twice before the exchange.  My weird question is, these TEs are SOOO different than breasts, i.e. they sit high and are wider than my saggy DDD old natives, how will I know when I like them?  Deborah, your suggestion was 550-600 ccs for the TEs I have with my dimensions.  I'm now at 400 ccs.  Is the amount of projection what I go by?  I'm more anxious about being too big than too small.  Thanks.

People have asked me if I wear a bra yet.  AHAHAHAHAHA.  I tell them "NO", my PS fills my TEs with cement.  Laughing

    Hello Everyone!

The wide range of PS opinions make me question mine.

I am scheduled for exchange surgery on Thursday, 7/19.

    I am 5'3" 130 pounds.  My ribcage is 34 - 14 1/2 across the front.

    I have 133FV-12 expanders

My right is filled to 370.  My left is at 430.

My right projects larger but this is the side I had trouble with due to poor placement (too low).

    I'd like to be a full B or a small C.

It's been at least 6 weeks since my last fill on my right but my left side received its last fill (50cc) on Wednesday.

I'm worried its not enough time between last fill and exchange. Neither side received radiation and my skin is good.

Emotionally, I'm done with these expanders especially since my right has fallen back to where it was before the revision. My right TE looks "too big" my left TE looked "just right" 4 weeks ago, then I asked for an extra 50cc's on Wednesday just to have more wiggle room.

Deborah... what is your opinion on size of implants and if you think I can comfortable achieve a full B, small C?

    THANK YOU!!!

mariwyl:  It is actually more important to go by the width of your TEs, rather than the projection.  So your TEs are 13.0 cm wide and so what corresponds would be a 500 cc high profile smooth round silicone implant - Style 20 in Allergan - or a 371 cc moderate/midrange profile implant - Allergan Style 15.  Glad things are moving along nicely for you!

    Deborah

Edited to state:  A 397 cc Style 15 would be appropriate also....and with these recommendations, you will be smaller than you are currently....

GreenMonkey:  Well, since you want to be on the smaller side, I think you probably would be happy with Allergan Style 15 - around 339 ccs or Style 20 - 425 ccs.  My only caveat for you though is that if you indeed have a 34 inch ribcage, I would prefer to see you with around 13.0 cm in width with the implants.  This would mean a 397 cc Style 15....In a HP implant this would be 500 ccs, but I am envisioning that you would rather have a somewhat "athletic" profile with your implants, and so the midrange Style 15 would be a nice choice for you.  You will be smaller than your TEs - fully filled to 400 ccs....

Thank you, Deborah!  You are remarkable!  I am printing out your response to discuss with my PS when it comes time to exchange.

Thank you Deborah! What does an "HP" implant mean? I am worried I will be smaller than I hoped for after the exchange but overall I just want them to be even and perky!

Blessings2011 - (LOL) I hear those new computerized implants come with an optional remote control LaughingWinkLaughing .  Me want!!!!!

Tina -- remote control settings: up and perky (when you're going dancing and need cleavage)... down and slacking (for when you want to let it all hang out).

Lilah and Blessings2011  - Oh, I hope there's also a "Massage" setting.....that way you won't have to remember to do it yourself.  Just make sure you set the automatic timer for when you're at home - don't want them moving around on their own while you're out in public!  Surprised

Oh, Sisters, do you think any manufacturer would listen to us if we sent them these suggestions? Laughing

I wish there was a LOVE button.  The computerized foobies would be awesome.  Maybe we should add self inflating.  That way you can inflate to your desired bra size, but deflate for exercise where the jiggling is too much.

I'd also push for built-in, remote control nips.....

So on T-shirt days, you could have smooth, and for va-va-voom times you could have high beams.....Cool

I just got an email from Hewlett Packard:

"The Best Thing to Come Out Since the Remote Control"

Unfortunately, it didn't have anything to do with implants.....

you're cracking me up!!!! it feels so good to laugh about all this.

My exchange surgery is tomorrow. I've been forcing people to feel how hard these bricks are. So excited to get them out! I was doubting if I was big enough but started noticing that I was bumping into things with them so I figured that is a good place to stop toe fills.

oh... this is a long story and I don't have time to do it justice but...

A few weeks ago I was in Saratoga, NY at a jazz fest. I got separated from my pack and ended up stranded. I waited out front for someone to come by but they never showed. I had no phone and no cash. There were no cabs. The police and workers left. I waited until there was only one car remaining. I figured I had 3 options: 1)sleep in the bushes.  2) walk back to the hotel (a 5 mile walk along a highway) or 3) ask the people in the car for a lift. So, I asked the people in the car for a lift who happened to be three, large, black men. They were shocked when I asked them. The driver said, "are you sure you want to get into a car with three black men?" I asked them if they were going to kill me and when they said they wouldn't I got in. I was in the back seat and the man in the back with me was smashed. At one point, he turned to me, smiled then reached over and grabbed my right foob. I couldn't believe he did it. I yelled, "did you just grab my boob?" He slurred, "yes." "How did it feel?" I asked. "It felt great" he said. "really, are you sure?" I asked again. Then I asked him when was the last time he felt a boob. He didn't answer. "Well," I continued, "clearly its been a long time. Clearly you have no idea what boobs feel like because these are Tissue Expanders and they are filled with saline. They are rock hard. If you touch me again I'll hit you in the face with them. Do you want me to hit you in the face with them? Do you want to lose a tooth or explain to everyone why you have a black eye?"... he was speechless. They were all speechless. I then told them that I got into the car with them because I felt like, if I could beat cancer, I could surely survive a late night ride with 3 black men. I then told the drunk one that I was disappointed in his behavior and he apologized.  I demanded they pull over and I exited the car and walked the rest of the way back to the hotel with the biggest smile on my face.  It felt so empowering.   So, the moral of this story is... these TE aren't just for expansion! They're like wearing a set of brass knuckles, only bigger.

Geeze. Has anyone ever written a book about the drama, humor and courage displayed on these boards? If not, hmmm, maybe someone should. Such amazing stories.

    Hi all,

This is such a good thread, but there is so much to absorb and learn.  For some reason I am so overwhelmed today and seem to be on the verge of tears.  I need a little guidance.

I had BMX on 5/15 and have been getting fills every 3 weeks or so.  I think I have about 2 or 3 more fills to go before exchange.  BUT, I just cannot see how my PS can tell when to stop filling because these expanders are shapped so funny.  My boobs are flat, wide, high and under my armpits.  They are also not close together as I have about a 2 inch gap between my boobs.  How in the word can you translate this kind of mess (yes, it does look like a mess to me) to any kind of size or shape at all?  I am hoping for a good sized C in the end.  I'm 5-9, about 172 (yes, I need to lose weight) and my ribcage is 38" around (I don't know what happened here because I was about 35 around before surgery).

What can I do to ensure I don't end up with widely-spaced "pancake" boobs?  Gosh, I hope it's not too late.  What are the right questions to ask my PS?  She's not very talkative about the final result yet, but I am concerned I don't even know the right questions to ask.  I will see her next week for another fill so any feedback is very much appreciated.

Thank you so much for listening and pointing me in the right direction.

DigitalCowgirl, so many of us expect to look normal after mastectomies.  PSs are not magicians.  Just think how far we've come from the days of radical mastectomies without reconstruction.  I'm happy I'm cured, pain-free and putting this whole ordeal behind me.

GreenMonkey, what kind of friends leave you stranded?  Make new friends.  Hopefully, you don't have a death wish by making a God-awful mistake of hitching a ride with a group of thugs.  I'm really hoping your story was made up because I've read your blog and know you have quite a sense of humor.

    GreenMonkeySurprisedSurprisedSurprised!!!!!

DigitalCowgirl - I have found that having TEs in requires a huge leap of faith. In the beginning, mine were tiny, wrinkly little piles of skin. Then as they filled up, they looked like weird diagonal loaves of french bread. When I finally got to the end of my fills, they became Sponge Bob Square Foobs. Seriously - square! And they start somewhere under my armpits and wrap around and actually touch in the middle. I can barely squeeze a finger in between them.

You just have to remember - all they're there for is making space for your permanent implants. You have to trust that your PS has done this many times, and that if you have thoroughly discussed the exact types and sizes of implants that you believe would be appropriate for your size, then that's what you'll get.

I was appalled at the rather crude look of my incisions after BMX, and I told my PS that my sewing teacher would NOT give him a good grade for stitching! But I also understood that part of exchange is him going in and removing TEs, cleaning up scar tissue, refining pockets so they are perfect, inserting the right size implants, and perfecting the final incisions so that they heal as neatly as possible.

If you haven't already done so, please contact whippetmom for her input on what type of permanent implant would look appropriate on you. That way you'll have something to discuss with your PS along with your concerns about what the finished outcome will look like.
