Damn, MBJ. I was so happy for you reading your email about biking. Then I read the next one. Hopefully it is nothing. Please keep us posted.
I had an oddly similar experience last week. I went hiking for an hour and a half, which is the most I have done since starting chemo. I was so happy, particularly because I have been having such a hard time with muscle fatigue and not being able to work out for more than about a half hour. Then I went back to the hotel (was on vacation) and in the shower felt a lump on my calf. It is small and round, which scares me. It seems an unlikely place to have mets, so I am trying not to worry too hard. Doc appoint this week - will have her check it out.
How was the cherry blossom festival this weekend? Did you all have fun? I hope so!

I forgot to mention that I went topless for the first time while on vacation. I have anywhere from 1 to 2 inches of hair, so it was not particularly "brave". However, it is was the first time that anyone other than my mom saw my new short hair. It was a girls trip with friends from college. still sticking with the wig at home, but I figured on vacation no one knows me, so who cares.

Irr4993: Going topless was Huge for me!!! It does take alot of bravery to venture without a wig or anything to hide it. I went back and forth with and without for awhile until I finally became more comfortable. I so know what you mean. This is the most I have done except for walking since this whole thing started and it felt really good. I kept crying tears of gratitude just for being alive. It was gorgeous today, too. An almost perfect day. Quite sureal to be on a bike with thousand of other people and no cars--in Los Angeles this is unheard of. Great experience!

It sounds like a great day, MBJ. And I know how you felt being able to finally do that. I felt the same way on my hike. I think the gorgeous surroundings (were were in sedona) were part of what kept me moving. It was just a beautiful location and a beautiful day. But I will admit to being completely and utterly exhausted at the end. I could barely hold my arms up to shampoo my 1-2 inches of hair afterward . . . lol. But I was very proud to have done that much, particularly only barely a month from the end of radiation.

Congratulations on being done with radiation--impressive that you were able to do it so soon after!! Sedona sounds like a beautiful place to be and I am so happy you had an amazing day, too. Just to be able to function like a normal human being is so rewarding. I have a feeling I am going to be sore tomorrow but it was sooo worth it.

MBJ: I'm chiming in here to send positive prayers that the lump you feel is just fat that didn't take. So many things can cause these lumps... and the majority are not cancer. Let us know the moment you find out something. It makes all of us nervous when one of us has a scare. But I'm going to believe it's nothing!0

Oh, by the way, today was my debut going topless. 86 in Ohio, right Titan? WAY too hot for a hat. It was very nice not having one on... and I took a walk around my block which is a bit over 2 miles. Ahhh, country living, corn fields, and cows... welcome to Ohio!

cc4npg: Thank you! I am thinking that no way could I all of a sudden have a lump appear over nite so I'm saying it's just a lump of fat until I am told otherwise. Scary to even feel a lump though, B9 or not. Yuck. Glad we are all having some gorgeous Spring weather.

Suze, just wanted to say that there are many of us here who have no idea if or how well we responded to chemo, as we had surgery first. Yet here we all are, doing well, touch wood. As scary as your node situation may seem, you've had treatment that has enabled you and your docs to stay on top of things, so that's a very good thing, wishing you all the best going forward.
MBJ: Sorry to hear about the lump, fingers crossed it's nothing to worry about.
We've been having some lovely warm weather in Toronto: 20C (about 68F), so I have got back into my daily walk/jogs! No more excuses.0 -
Luah - thank you for the comforting words. I remind myself that at least we are on top of things, and I have the opportunity to still be cured thanks to a good medical team.
MBJ - I hope you were able to get a quick appointment and that all goes well! My thoughts are with you.
No fever today - yay! I'm keeping myself away from my son (
) and just getting ready for tomorrow. Surgery is at 2:00. 0 -
suze: So happy that your fever is gone!!! I completely agree with Luah. Tomorrow will hopefully get the last of it. I was able to get squeezed in at 3pm today so I will let you know if I have any news.

Teka - boy, I agree NPO sucks. It was the reason I threw up for hours after my last surgery when they gave me narcotics
.My surgery was moved up to first thing tomorrow AM - yay! I have to be there at 6:45, so I'll be the first one of the day. My BS is hoping I can go home in the evening, and boy, so am I.

I went away for 24 hours and now I'm trying to catch up..will be thinking of you tomorrow Suze! You will do ok..!
MBJ..I'm betting that the lump is just fat..and I'm a betting woman! Wanna put 5 bucks on it..ha ha
Oh yes..Angelisa..cows and Ohio...we have alot of them..in fact I grew up on a dairy farm...in fact my DH and I built a house on the farm.. They don't farm it anymore..no more cows..rent the land to someone else to farm..you know what they say about the 3rd generation...well that is what happened to us.

Hi Girls, sorry i havent posted lately. I am doing fine. One month today after my exchange surgery. I am regaining feeling ..... It is a blessing and a curse at the same time. A blessing because a can feel more, even the lightest touch
and a curse because it hurts when I lay down on my side. 
I am having rough time sleeping. Did anyone experienced that? Please let me know. Have a great evening .

YAHOOOOOO!!!! I just got home from my 3pm appointment (I was there since 2:30pm!!) Just fat lumps, clean mammo, clean US!!!! I cannot tell you what a relief it is to tell you all the good news. He want to do a recheck in 3 months after I am all healed but at least it got me in for my yearly mammo!!! Thank you everyone for your well wishes--what a relief!!
Suze: I am so glad you have an AM appointment. I always end up having to wait all day after fasting all night. No water just kills. Sending you many good thoughts for a successful surgery. Big hugs to you!!!

Monica: I slept sitting up for the longest time after exchange--it just hurt to lie down. Now I can not longer sleep sitting up. It will take some time-just prop yourself up with a bunch of pillows until you can sleep normal again. Give it some time.
