I like your posts ladies... God is in control.  I was blessed beyond measure during my dx and treatment.  I couldn't have gotten through this without God.  I have found it is at my lowest times in life when I am blessed the most...........

    Ladies:

Got my lab results this morning everything is good. Vit-D levels 77. Headache on a scale of 1-10 is about a  4 now. Nurse indicated to wait it out and that she sees no need for any scans. I am off tomorrow and I plan on resting I think my body is telling me to do this.

    Take care ladies.

    Good morning Ladies,

It has been awhile since I posted.  Had surgery on July 26th.  Drains out 3 weeks later, yeah, and today I start my second journey with 6 months of new chemo.  Today I get cisplatin.  I'm hoping I can take this new drug well, but secretly I want to "feel" it more than I did with A/C and Taxol since they clearly didn't work last summer.  So here's to side effects that are tolerable but give me a sense that the good fight is being waged.

A beautiful day to you all!  Smile often, laugh loud and enjoy the life we have, warts and all.

Inmate - Good luck today. I can totally relate to what you're saying regarding the chemo side effects. People look at me like I'm crazy when I say anything like that but I did ACT last summer too and compared to what I read here, I got off easy on the side effects - always worries me a bit. So... wishing you noticeable, but manageable, side effects going forward.Wink

I am asking this purely out of curiosity, as there seems to be a large number of religious ladies on our TN thread. I wondered if those of our group who regularly mention God in their posts (like, He always comes through for us, I couldn't do this without Him, I'm praying for good results etc) speak about Him/prayers in every day conversation, or is it easier with the anonymity of the internet? I know I find some things easier to say in a post that to family or friends. I hope noone takes offence - none intended.

Just popping in to say hello.  Having issues with my head - spacey feeling, headaches, etc.  My BP is creeping up, so I think it is related to that (thanks to the Avastin).  Feeling in a bit of a funk, but the Xeloda does that to me.  Have my scans scheduled for 9/23 (brain MRI) and 9/26 (PET/CT), so also feeling some early scanxiety.  Hope everyone is well.

I totally believe in God and feel like it is him that has helped me with my journey.  I tell everyone this not just on this thread.  And if I tell you i will pray for you, I do!

Suze35, I can totally relate to your scanxiety as I went through that not long ago.  Sorry you are not feeling very good, but these days SHALL pass.  You will get through this, you've got to.  I was playing with my camcorder box which contains all my tapes and I found a tape of the day when my hair was falling out.  I had taped myself.  Oh my God, from that day in October compared to today, vast difference.  I have got 2 inches of curly short hair back and with no cancer right now, feeling alright, a little lethargy, but I have my life back right now.  So all you ladies who are going through this right now, with chemo, hair loss, just hang in there. These days shall pass very soon, it will become history very soon.

Suze - Make sure you have someone with you when you hear the results.  I had someone hold me, as it is not easy to hear your results.  No matter how strong a person is, hearing about your future, especially with our diagnosis is not easy.  I am certain that your results will be great, there will be no findings, just as in my case. Good Luck, my friend!

I don't think there's any evidence of a relationship between feeling side effects and effectiveness. At least I hope not - as I tolerated all my chemo really well. I put that down to being fit, eating well, drinking lots of water and plain old good luck.

Lovelyface - thank you so much for your kind thoughts.  Thankfully my mom is always with me, and will be here with my DH when I get any results.  I try to resign myself - I can't change what will be on the scans - but I just keep thinking if I can get to that year, that is one year down... hope springs eternal, right?

Re: God - I'm a spiritual person, but not religious.  I don't pray, rather I meditate, and I don't necessarily think any larger power is in control of what happens.  But I do believe in more than just this limited existence, and that the key to why we are here is love and kindness.  I do my best to love my fellow man, and treat others with kindness, and that includes both accepting their prayers as positive energy, and offering up my own positive energy in return.  I hope that makes sense!

Regarding God. I wouldn't say anything on here that I wouldn't say in person. I am very open about the fact that my faith in God has given me much peace and has helped me tremendously since my diagnosis.

Luah, I was told the same thing (that severity of SEs does NOT correlate to the efficacy of your chemo.) My Dad did very well with chemo (lung cancer) and it gave him 9 more very comfortable months. I did fairly well, too, and my onc says it may be luck of the draw, genetics, or something else we don't understand yet.

On God, He has been my pillar and strength and on this thread or with friends and family, I constantly remind myself that God has been with me throughout and I see daily miracles in my life with Him.

Hi everyone, had last A/c yesterday.  Seeing the doctor on the 6th.  Have noticed two small lumps and a small rash.  Don't know what to do.

Bernie- just take a deep breath and realize there will be lots of 'scanxiety' and scares with this beast!  We are with you!!

Bernie - is there any way you can move up your appointment?  It is very true that scares come to us almost immediately, but lumps and a rash need to be examined - even just for your peace of mind.  Push your MO to get in if at all possible, and if that doesn't work, call your BS.  Although pretty rare, IBC can pop up after treatment for IDC, and requires different treatment.  Don't let your doctors brush you off.

Starting my storm prep - we are expecting lots of rain and probable power outages, so stocking up on the necessities.  I thought I'd left this crap behind in Florida, lol!

Bernie:  I agree with Suze--get in to your dr's asap.  The sooner you know the better your piece of mind.

As far as religion and god stuff, I also only come here for TN support and though I respect another person's beliefs, I find religious talk of off putting on a non-religious thread.  I always wish everyone well and I hope those who are experiencing bad weather will get through ok.  We don't have real "weather" in California so I wouldn't know what to do.

mccrimmon - I lived in the Sunshine State for 30 years, born and raised Smile.  I was born in Fort Lauderdale, went to college there, and ended up working at the same hospital as my birth, lol.  In fact, my office was an old patient room that was next door to the room I was born in!  I ended up moving in 1999 to work on my Ph.D. in Michigan, then to the NE when my DH's career started to take off.  I still have family there - mom and dad are in central FL, and my sister is still in south Florida.

Whew, finally caught up on y'all. Sorry to any

one I miss, not easy to post on IPhone.

Laurajane, you're not scaring me, you're educating me! I was very much a "Pollyanna" when I got my dx, being on here has made me much

More of a realist. I prefer to lively my life as a realist. Same feelings to you Suze.

Heidi #23 was a winner. I actually think they may have had it right the first tome, lots of men I meet think with dicks anyways!

Netty, thanks for the good news

Gilly, I mention God the same on here as in real life. Actually it's good that I do because I've gnawed so bad on God's ass so much in the last year (more going on than just the BC), that my friends are praying for me to try and keep me off the shit list, lol . For anyone who is non-religious, when I say I'm "praying" for you, just understand it's my way of sending positive energy to you.

I'm going to agree with Luah, my SE have been minimal, but my tumor (the one they can feel) is shrinking well .

Day 2 after my first A/C and I'm doing well, we'll see what happens when all the meds wear off. Took your advice on the claritan/Zantac for the neulasta. Didn't even ask my onc. I'm already taking Zantac for ulcers, and I took the Claritin during Taxol.

Went with "Tis easier to be granted foregivemess, than to obtain permission!"

Be well all. Off to batten down for Irene

You guys...Jen3 isn't doing too well...just thought I would pass that on to you...

When I was diagnosed my mom had me put on the prayer list at her church..and I had many cards implying people were praying for me...I'm not a deeply religious person but it certainly didn't bother me at all...

Mainly we are concerned about one thing..triple negative breast cancer.....and we need to do whatever it takes to get us through...

I am kinda glad the religious thing was brought up. I am also never bothered by it, but really not religious at all my self. I wish I had more faith, and I will eventually post about that in a more appropriate place. I like it when people say they will pray for me, at the very least I know they are thinking about me. What is going on with jenn3? My heart goes out to you jenn if you are reading this.

I had my first avastin with my 3rd abraxane today. I started to visualize the tiny blood vessels feeding the tumor dying and the cancer shriveling up and dying! Hope I don't get a big bill for it! I forgot to ask my doc if he got it pre approved, but hubby remembers him saying that we wouldn't do avastin if he couldn't get it approved. How much does it cost per treatment? About $8,000?

Ok, my Mom got news on pathology after her BMX.  No node involvement, Stage 1 - mass was under 3 cm. Triple Negative.  Does this mean she will still have chemo?

westieluv:  I believe all of us received chemo as TN's.  That is a very hopefull diagnosis-no nodes and only Stage 1.  Hugs to you!

Thanks MBJ!  Does the Stage 1 mean that she may not have to do so many rounds or dose dense?  Her ONC did not paint a rosy picture.  I am hoping it will not be so rough.
