    MRI was clear - yayyyy!

    So I get to take a break from the Avastin for a bit - an extra week or two - then restart at a lower dose. I have never been so happy to only have SEs!!

    Thank you all so much for the good thoughts, I truly appreciate it - positive energy is such an important thing in my world-view :).

    Bak - I was getting the Avastin every 3 weeks. I get Zometa every 6 months, did your doctor say why you get it so often? I know they will do it monthly for bone mets, but I wasn't aware it was also given that much as a preventative.

    Laurajane - I'm paying it forward to you - all of the wonderful thoughts are now headed your way. Let us know how you are doing when you can. Hugs.

    Ahhhh, I can breath! Until the next scan, lol.

    Playing catchup Mac not working need my son to come home and fix it. LOL I'm using my iPad finally thought of charging it. Ha ha

    Heidi, MBJ and others- girls I've got enough pills to go around so I'm sending you all special cyber pain pills coated in chocolate hugs. Take with a TBL.spoon of homemade butter pecan ice creme . Hope you all feel better soon.

    Suze beyond happy fills my heart that it's just SE's, sorry I don't mean "just" I'm stll so sorry about your headaches and hope they go away soon with the decreased dose. By the way, I'm a shoe addict too! I lOVE nice shoes. Let's go out you can wear your snake skins I'll wear my Manolos Blahnik's they look like red twizzlers wrapped decoratively around my foot. I call them "Dinner" not "Dancing" shoes because they are so high. That means you go to an elegant restaurant, step out of the cab, gracefully walk to your table (hopefully without tripping) and be grateful you're sitting down

    for dinner. LOL

    Everything happens for a reason!!! I went to get my port yesterday the surgeon diagnosed my what I thought was spider bites as staph. Antibiotics for a week and then come back. I told him I was concerned about a new tumor about the size of yolk of a suunyside up egg on my sternum and the increased skin cancer since last tues. He called my onc and she requested I see her right away. When she saw me she was shocked at the progress since I've been on abraxane so she said forget the port and gave me avistan yesterday with the abraxane thru IV. I am so happy because I was not scheduled to see her until the 20th after my port would have healed and start the avistan. I think this is going to wok. By the way on the way up to Indy yesterday I saw a rainbow on either side of the sun in a blue sky with a few puffy clouds. First time I've ever seen one with out any rain before or after. I feel really ggod about this.

    Love you guys and hope you all have a great evenig. I can't begin to thank you all for your love and good wishes.

    Jenny so happy it's all good news.

    Suze35-Glad to hear your results! I am not sure why zometa every 3 weeks, maybe I am mixed up and that is for the avastin. I will find out tomorrow. I do know my calcium levels are low, doc told me to make sure I take my calcium supplements. I really need to start writing things down, I will take a notebook tomorrow! My doc is kinda like me, I jump from one subject to another, sometimes not completing the conversation.

    LauraJane-I can see it shrinking already!! So glad you got treatment right away. I have been very happy with how I feel on abraxane/avastin, although I have a cold right now. I don't want to go in tomorrow, worried I will get someone else sick :( I will wear one of those mask things.

    I must say having a cold on top of chemo sucks! Hope it doesn't weaken my immune system too much.

    Well, my back is about 90% better, so in a few days I'm sure I'll be doing something I shouldn't be and throw it out again. Too much work around here for me to be horizontal for no good reason.

    Retail Therapy- spent yesterday buying quality furniture and rugs for my kids restored townhouse. Tis always better to give than receive. Still have some more stuff I want to get, too.

    LJ- I'm glad your stepped up chemo regimen has helped to give you some more peace of mind. Waiting, especially under those circumstances, is a tough thing to do. You are in my thoughts daily.

    Today is recover the pool after the hurricane day-- the steam has been rising off of it wthout the solar cover on and I like my water *warm* (we have heated it with propane in the past but the current cost is just ridiculous). Plus, we have the future in-laws coming for the first time for a BBQ this weekend. Son hasn't popped the question yet, but it's been discussed and we all know she's the one.

    Take care everyone! Let's all try to have a nice Labor Day weekend here in the USA--- or where ever you are!

    Good wishes to all for a nice Labor Day weekend (with no thoughts of FC.)

    Had a great date night with DH - dinner, martini, movie. Woke up to a wicked let-down migraine, but with my new best friend Fioricet, have it under control, thankfully!

    LJ - a Blahnik girl, huh? Those shoes sound divine! My fav is Louboutin, I have a fancy for Mary Janes, lol. I think meeting up in our dinner shoes sounds heavenly! My DH has another name for shoes like that, lol, but I like your definition too :-). I am so glad you got fast-tracked on the Avastin, and I am keeping you in my thoughts that it works fast. The rainbow sounds like a wonderful sight.

    MBJ - I've been good since my diagnosis - no new shoes. But I told DH after my PET in a few weeks, I will be doing a little retail therapy, heh.

    Lynniea - good luck with your rads! It really is downhill from here :-). Don't forget to use some sort of cream every day, it really helps!

    Titan - you know me, queen of false alarms, lol. As long as they stay that way, I'm happy :-). I can only imagine how hectic things must be for you! But exciting too.

    Heidi - I'm glad to hear your back is doing better. This cancer crap really does a number on our joints and ones, it sucks. Have a great weekend, and enjoy your visit with the future in-laws!

    ~~~~~
    Heading to Washongton DC this weekend with the family, so I'll be away for a bit. Have a great holiday everyone!
    Was diagnosed July 2008, two months after my 50th birthday.  BiMX Aug 18, 2008 followed by four dose dense Cytoxin/Taxotere every three weeks.  Started the bisphosphonate trial - ibandronate- in Dec 2008; stopped a year later due to leg pain. Neg bone scan one month after I stopped the trial. Started reconstruction July 2009 with tissue expanders, and exchange Oct 2009.  Can't decided (even now) if I want nipples or just tattoos, so I still have the last bit of recon to do.  See Onc every six months, although it's been over a year as I got a big case of MCB (major cancer burnout).
    This past July was my three year cancerversary....so far, all is well!
    Kymn..your pic is beautiful...I have a memory of when I was going through treatment and there was a double rainbow "touching down" in my front lawn..it was raining but I ran out there to find that dang pot of gold..my husband was directing me on where to look for it...dang but it was gone b-4 I got there...it was a cool experience.
    This may be weird but do you guys do stuff like that?  I just loved the Wizard of Oz when I was a kid...read all the books...I tried and tried to go the Land of Oz ..would spin myself around..never got there though...
    I dunno....I think Laura Jane has the gift of "just believing"...when did we get all caught up in adulthood..and forget the joys of being a child?
    Wink:  Hello!  I second what TifJ said--very encouraging to hear from those of you that are years out from dx.
    Suze:  Yeah for clear scans!
    For some reason my computer is not showing the double rainbow pic.  I saw one last summer in the mountains and it was beautiful.
    I would love to see a pic of those shoes, Laura Jane and Suze?
    Titan:  I also loved the Wizard of Oz books.  Quite different from the movie!
    After treatment we were sailing on the Chesapeake. Suddenly, we were surrounded by dolphins, which are supposedly good luck to sailors. I took it as a good omen, and I found it comforting. Now, if there'd also been a rainbow.... wow, might have been cured!
