    Sugar- nothing quite as satisfying as a clean, round one mammo. Wishing you many more.

    And may I say you too must have picked one of the good ones, if he still vacuumes!

    Flautalee - I'm sorry you are going through this. Follow your intuition. If you need something, it never hurts to ask.

    Tif J - if I were writing the scene I would say... ( you standing over vacuume- husband in room)I know this sounds stupid, but when I was hurting so badly, and you took over the vacuuming, everytime I heard it, I would think, that's the sound of love. (look away wistfully, squeeze out a tear. When done, ask for an shoulder rub.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    I was able to get some work done around the house, despite the knee bandage and walker. Tomorrow I can shower and leave the dressing off. Yuck!
    I don't want to look.
    Tuesday I have to make a two hour car trip to meet w/my bs. He is going to schedule My mx revision and de- port me. Then on to waiting for BRCA testing. Has anyone had it come back undetermined?
    Wishing you all a relaxing Sunday.
    I like reading the stories about our families "helping"..my dh took over the grilling..he would put the grill on very low...very low...cook the steaks/burger/chops/dogs/chicken..whatever..set the timer, turn them over, set the timer..blah blah..it took hours (ok, exaggerating a little..but not much)...
    I took that job back as soon as I could..3 minutes a side on medium-high, ..and its done..I have had no complaints..and we all get to eat b-4 midnight.
    Flautulee..so you play the flute?  I may have missed this somewhere but do you play professionally?
    With TN..or any Grade 3 cancer I think acting quickly has to be the only choice...you don't see too many TN's with Grade 1 or 2...I found my lump in Jan. 09 and didn't have it out unil March 09 but that was my fault..once I finally got myself in the mindset that this lump wasn't going anywhere I made the appts. and got it done...Ultrasound in early March, then biopsy, then lumpectomy one week later..it took 3 weeks from start to finish..I keep kicking myself on not pushing a little bit more in early Feb..but I was just hoping that it would go away..
    My hubby always leaves me 1 cup of coffee in the morning and takes the rest in a thermous. Most times I don't drink it but he always leaves it. Today I decided I wanted that cup of coffee and I couldn't find the coffee pot! Poor guy must have been so tired when leaving for work he took the whole pot with him! It's one of those stainless steel ones from starbucks, not the glass type.
    Feeling sorry for myself. Not because of the coffee! My animals want in they want out and then they want in again, they are driving me crazy! At least it is getting me to move! Still have this stupid cold and with the chemo it is zapping me of all energy. I feel bad being whiny because I know many are going through so much more. I have a ct scan coming up and that has me stressed out also.
    Thinking of all of you and wishing you all a good week!
    Bak...do you have any tea?  I wish I could come over and bring you some or Bernie's chicken soup!!  Yes..having a cold plus chemo is no fun...how much can a person take anyway???
    Aww Bak, I think not having coffee would just put me over the edge. It seems like right now anything, a cold, hangnail, run in my pantyhose make me go "SERIOUSLY? The cancer, surgery and chemo aren't enough?" Wouldn't it be nice if we could all just get together for a nice bowl of soup, whining and laughing? Maybe we should have soup day where we all just get some soup, sit with our computers and poke fun at the rediculousness of it all. Hope you feel better!
    OBXK, love the tear idea...I'm gonna try that next time my floor needs a good vaccuum.
    hope everyone has had a good Sunday...I'm still just sore from my lumpectomy/reduction and port placement...think it's making me cranky.
    I also like reading about all the help, so sweet. DH does his best. I just got 3 alone nights in NYC, I got to hang out with old friends and new, it was very sweet of him.
    I'm going to try and catch up with everyone tomorrow - I'll have the PET results early, so I'll post.
    Laurajane is an amazing, beautiful, inspirational woman. It was a true pleasure to meet her :).
    Have a good Sunday everyone!
    OK ladies, I'm am posting something that has nothing to do with cancer, and very much to do with getting on with my life. If you have little kids or grandkids, I am looking for some feedback. A friend and I are working on a podcast for young children to listen to with a parent/caregiver. It is songs and a story and about 12 minutes long, and is intended for preschoolers/kindergarten aged children. We have just finished recording a demo and plan to make it available soon to as many people as possible in order to get honest feedback about what we are doing. However, I am wondering if this podcast were available to download from a website, how would you listen to it with your child?
    Thanks in advance for any feedback you can give me.
     gilly- I listen to Podcasts through iTunes. Is that what you mean? What application a person would use to access your program?
    I think I mean, do you listen on your PC, on an MP3 player, your ipod etc. BUT if it is intended to be heard by more than one person (ie the parent and child) how would you listen together. Obviously headphones from an ipod or other MP3 player are not ideal. Does that make sense?
    Just checking in. I have round 4 of a/c on Thursday. I can't wait to be done with that. Then it's on to the taxol. I've decided that chemo is just gross. Everything about it is gross. From the way it makes you feel to what it does to your body. My main complaint these day is watery eyes. They are so light sensitive! I guess I finally look like that sick person I didn't want to become. I lost my hair and 15 pounds, my skin is yuck and pale. Do you have any idea how big I am gonna party after all this is over?!
    Hope you all are having a relaxing Sunday!
    Gilly- I hook up my laptop to the big screen and/or to external speakers whenever I want to share something in a group situation, like video or slideshows. My PC has 5 speaker surround, my laptop has external speaker jack, and my iPod can connect to this nifty (and powerful) handheld speaker that I use for birdcalls in the field. All are easy to accomplish. Does that help?
    Yes, Titan, I have played the flute since I was 8 years old. I recently retired from teaching instrumental music for more than 20 years. I teach private lessons now and am working to complete my MA in Music (Concentration in Music Education) this coming May. I have played flute in the Livingston Symphony (NJ) since 1987. The orchestra has a terrific conductor, Istvan Jaray. I also play in the Maplewood Community Band which is a lot of fun, too. The chemo is making me tired but playing has always made me feel happy and the graduate work keeps me busy thinking so I worry less about my treatment. Best to all and no SE's!
    Lee - I wonder if anyone has put together a thread for musicians. Nice to hear you devoted your life to teaching music, and that you still find a way to keep playing. I play violin and am in the Westminster Community Orchestra and the occasional musical; just started piano to pick up where I left off teaching myself when I was a kid and loving it. It's really been wonderful to focus on during this time. Good luck with any upcoming concerts. I may have to miss my next one because of surgery but I'm looking forward to getting back.
    Kymn,
    I'm so sorry you are going through this.  I'm going through a similar time. I hope you have family support; it has helped me so much.  I am  also going to call the hospital social worker this week and try to get started with her - the counseling is free at our local hospital. She has some people who come to see her once a week.
    Hi everyone, going for my rad markers today.  Then BC tomorrow for a check up.  Still can't shift this flu type thing i've had since i finished chemo.
    A soup day would be good but i'm thinking more along the lines of a Wine & Whine evening.
    Love to you all
    Kymn - I cannot express how disappointed (teacher-talk-something students children listen to with dread) I am with your husband. He couldn't handle the fear and unknown that we have no choice but to accept and deal with in order to move on in our lives. I think I read some posts on this site suggesting that boyfriends and DH's who run for the hills be run over by a bus. You will get through this and thanks for letting us know. We are with you!
    Christina - So sorry that you are having DH issues, too. What I find so hard to comprehend is that if the situation were reversed, we wouldn't even think of leaving. Thank you for sharing - glad that you are connecting with a social worker. We will get through this together.
    Ive been away for a few days and am just catching up.
    Kymn, I am so very sorry for what you're going through. Hope you can find some help and support from a counsellor or trusted friend, family member etc. Of course, cancer changes all of us in some way. You're strong (even if you don't feel like it right at this moment) and  will get through this, it's just crappy that you have to go through this sh%t.
    Flautalee: How tough to be facing this again! I'm sure your case is rare, but it is still a cautionary tale for anyone who thinks that double Mx erases all risk. There is always risk. Wishing you a fairly smooth course of treatment...
    Sugar: How nice to have a clean mammo. I'm hoping for the same next month.
    Kymn- (((HUGS)))  Maybe this is just a rough patch. Men express their feelings differently then  women and most do shutdown. Maybe try showing him you are a fighter and a winner. Do your part and if it ends you can move on peacefully knowing you have done your part.
    Notsobusty: Yes your eyes are going to water quite a bit. Keep tissue and a little vaseline near.
    Suga: Wonderful it's always good to hear good news.
